I think Hook is going to have to find a way to work with Rumple because he’s going to need that knowledge fount. Belle’s friendship is probably how he’ll bridge the gap…if he doesn’t go full on villain like Regina did and threaten Belle to get his way. (Yes, that was a villainous move even if it was for heroic purposes against another pair of villains. Regina’s not a perfect, innocent being of heroic light just yet.)

    Quote

I don’t know, Hook showed bully boy tendencies towards Rumple just the other episode because he knew Rumple couldn’t do anything. Now that Rumple is potentially powerless now, I can just see Hook gloating over the fact.

It would be nice if, after Hook’s experience in the AU, he at least leaves Rumple be rather than antagonising him at every opportunity. Hook’s been on the receiving end of what SpinnerRumple had to deal with so it would show character growth if Hook acknowledges that.

Gotta wonder how Hook feels about this right now. After all, he spent over a century wanting to kill the Dark One and searched for methods to do it. Now… his GF is the Dark One.

    Quote

It’s not so much Hook wanted to kill the dark one, it’s Hook wanted to kill Rumple who happened to be the dark one.

My question is how are they going to handle the Rumple/Hook dynamic now?

I wonder where Blue Fairy fits into this? She is afterall the “original power” and she knows of the sorcerer.

Man, I should have mentioned this in my post, but he’s been so underused I sometimes forget he was even a part of this Season. The most frustrating thing for me is that we had an entire Season of Will being in Storybrooke, and they still never got around to answering why he’s back in Storybrooke in the first place and what happened to Anastasia. If Anastasia is dead, just let Will spit it out already. However, the fact that they won’t just say that she’s dead does give me hope that she really isn’t. Maybe they did run into a snag with his storyline, regarding Emma Rigby’s availability. ScarletBeauty was also one of the most pointless plotlines ever. It was purely an obstacle for Rumbelle, and not treated as a serious relationship in the slightest. We barely saw them interact when they were a couple, and we never even saw how they ended up together.

I agree. The thing with ScarlettBeauty is that creates a mess of problems in it’s own right. If Anastasia is dead, why not have Will just say that? If Anastasia is alive somewhere, then why is Will dating Belle? Likewise, why did Belle date Will when she knew she didn’t love him? It was just angst for RumBelle.

    1) What was your favorite episode of S4B?

The 2 hour finale, I really enjoyed it and only had minor nitpicks.

    2) What was your least favorite episode of S4B?

Heart of Gold- Robin is such an awkwardly written character so a centric about him is not going to be the best episode of the season.

    3) Did you prefer S4A (Frozen) or S4B (The Queens of Darkness)?

4B hands down. 5 episodes with no Robin/OQ drama and no Frozen characters taking screentime away from our favourites.

    4) Who was your favorite QoD?

Cruella- I liked her sarcastic humour.

    5) What was your favorite plot twist?

I don’t know if I really have one to be honest. I suppose Rumple actually having a reason for what he was doing (to prevent his heart going black) rather than just doing it for power or the sake of it could count.

    6) What was your least favorite plot twist?

Zelena being pregnant with Robin’s baby- I thought Zelarian was going to be how they made OQ okay considering the backlash they got in 4A but they somehow made it worse.

ScarletBeauty- It was unnecessary and pointless. Belle said herself she didn’t love Will so why did they bother other than to create angst? It never went anywhere much like Charming’s dreamshade poisoning.

    7) Overall grade for S4B and final thoughts?

An 8/10? I enjoyed it more than 4A and there were some scenes I loved. The Sheriff and Cora’s scene in the tavern being one of them. I liked how 4B focussed on the regulars more whereas 4A was too Frozen focussed. Anna started to grate on my nerves and was a little too Mary-Sue. 4B had that mix of humour, courtesy of Cruella, Cora, Isaac and the Sheriff that had been missing from the show.

I’ve long headcanoned that while his chief powers came from being the DO, he was accumulating backup powers along with trinkets.

I agree. Plotwise magic Rumple is too convenient to get rid of, he’s magically solved 75% of the problems on the show.

It’ll be Hook. There was a reason why they had Emma declare her love but not have a kiss. The writers want to save THAT for 511, which will also be the 100th episode of the series.

I don’t know. They had her chicken out of saying “I love you” in the apartment and she only said it as she was about to sacrifice herself. She has a habit of making these big sweeping statements in dire situations when somebody is potentially going to die but then backtracks when the crisis is averted……

I think it would be more poetic if Henry’s kiss saves Emma in season 5 (even more so if season 5 is the last)when Emma’s kiss saved Henry in season 1. Also didn’t A&E say in an interview ages ago that although you can have more than one true love in your life time, you can only have one true love at any time? So since Henry is Emma’s and Regina’s true love and is still around, it would makes sense for his kiss to be the one to break the dark one curse on her.

It’s also possible that since dragons are reptiles, their breeding would be reptilian. Maybe something similar to crocodiles?

If he lives he has a lot of amends to make. Lots of groveling and working to do to get to a place of forgiveness and redemption.

Regina and Hook have been forgiven for less.

I think they will have Rumple out of commission for 1-3 episodes only. He’s the one who is probably the best bet to help with the Emma is the dark one situation, so of course they’re going to want him unavailable to ramp up the seriousness of the situation.

I think the sheer amount of darkness he was carrying with him is a mitigating factor and the fact that he managed to retain his humanity for centuries despite it hints that he will survived because the “strength” is there that the apprentice said would be needed if he were to survive.

I still expect Rumple to try and make some sort of amends but I think the other characters are going to be fairly forgiving.
