ParticipantThat wasn’t going to change how he felt at Rumple any time soon. Yes he now knows what it feels like to be a coward, but that’s not going to automatically erase their life long feud. Especially when Rumple still killed Milah in front of him, attempted to trap Emma in the hat, and took his heart to force him into doing his dirty work while threatening to crush it to free himself from the dagger.
I know Hook wasn’t suddenly going to be Rumple’s best friend, and that’s fine because there is a lot of history between them, but it would’ve been nice for Hook to acknowledge that he was wrong to do what he did to SpinnerRumple now that he had a taste of the shoe being on the other foot.

ParticipantI think it would be a massively missed opportunity to have Emma be the dark one and NOT have her go dark. It’s obvious they’re going to have Emma’s dark one curse be broken by TLK, they hinted at that in Skin Deep, question is: Will the kiss come from Hook or Henry?
They could also parallel the Emma/Henry story with the Rumple/Baelfire story. History repeats itself on this show (especially in the Stiltskin family) so Emma and Henry could be the ones to break the cycle.

ParticipantI liked AU Hook better than normal Hook. I had hoped that the AU would’ve made Hook reflect on his treatment of SpinnerRumple since he was effectively in those shoes (being challenged to a duel that he had no hope of winning, feeling weak and powerless against more experienced opponents, etc) but it seems like Hook has just gone back to his usual arrogant self as he still continues to refer to Rumple as “the crocodile” (a derogatory term he coined).

ParticipantI really enjoyed this finale and is probably my favourite of the overall season. There are some nitpicks but they are minor.
Liked:
Henry being a hero- It was about time he had something to actually do.
Isaac- I enjoyed the author character especially his “come on Henry please be dead” line. It’s a shame to lose him as a character.
The RumBelle side of the story- I like how there were ties to the good old RumBelle days, Rumple not believing anyone could love him, him seeking out Belle’s advice when he’s not sure on what to do. The RumBelle fire still burns strong! Also Rumple’s been carrying around that load of darkness for centuries and only really started succumbing for the last season yet has still retained his humanity. That in itself is a testament to how strong Rumple is even if he doesn’t realise it himself.
AU Hook- I liked AU Hook more than normal Hook.
AU Snowing- I liked AU Snowing particularly AU Snow, she’s more zazzy than normal Snow. Normal Snow needs to style her hair like AU Snow, it suits her.
Everyone trying to help Rumple despite what he did- I thought this was a nice little moment and hopefully a sign that the characters aren’t going to hold season 4 against Rumple when they’ve already forgiven Regina and Hook for worse.
Baelfire being acknowledged- It was the elephant in the room and the more the writers tried to avoid it, the bigger it became, so it was nice that it was addressed. I just wish they’d had this acknowledgement from the characters sooner.
Mixed:
Emma chainshotting DragonLily and sending her into the ocean- I know Lily survived but still, Emma sent her plunging into the ocean potentially drowning her with full knowledge that this was her old friend. Did Lily retain her memories like Emma or not in the AU?
AU Robin- I actually liked him more than normal Robin. I would happily ship AU Robin with Regina. Didn’t like that he married Zelena anyway despite seeing Regina at the door and clearly loving her hence the long hesitation but that’s normal Robin seeping in. If normal Robin was more like AU Robin, I’d be happy.
Emma sacrificing herself- When Emma said the darkness had to be attached to a person, I’m glad she chose herself rather than offloading it on someone else because I actually thought that is what the “heroes” might do.
The “Villains only care about their own happiness” line- I thought this line was a little hypocritical because we have seen the “heroes” being selfish like this in the past but still remaining “heroes”.
What the apprentice said to Henry about Baelfire- It’s more the fact that the writers completely avoided the topic of Baelfire for so long yet have a character say “when someone is gone you should continue telling their story” which is the complete opposite of what they did with Neal.
Dislike:
Regina taking so long to go in the church- It’s minor and was obviously meant to be for dramatic tension but still what was Regina waiting for?
Henry driving a car- Since when did he learn to drive so well when he only had one lesson and crashed into a mailbox? He’s 12!
Hook going back to himself- I had hoped that his experience as AU Hook would’ve made Hook reflect on his treatment of SpinnerRumple and at least acknowledged that he’d been in the wrong at that time. However, him referring to Rumple as “the crocodile” this episode (which he’d originally coined as a derogatory term) makes me think this is unlikely and that Hook has learnt nothing. (Rumple should at least get some respect for the sheer amount of darkness he was carrying around and yet still maintained his humanity).
Will being a completely pointless character- Even Belle says, I never loved Will. What was the point of Will this season?

ParticipantMy 2 year old nephew made me laugh this morning. He likes to watch DVDs on my laptop, and I’ve got a OUAT wallpaper on my laptop of the season 2 regulars. He sees Hook on the wallpaper and Says “It pirate, it bad”.

ParticipantJust being nitpicky because im bored but…
-Arent ogres blind? How’d it see Henry all tied up there?I’m presuming Ogres can still smell so it probably smelled him especially as he wouldn’t smell like the EF. Also Henry started shouting so that probably got the ogre’s attention as well. It’s also possible that, since ogre’s hunt by sound, they might use echolocation like bats, they seem to roar a lot.

ParticipantWe’ve had a goddess on this show as a “major villain” *extensive air quotes* and she was the weakest of all the villains. If Ursula is the daughter of Poseidon, who is the brother of Hades, I am sure Hades wouldn’t be THAT much more powerful. For all we know, “god” could just mean, magic user who rules over this particular thing for some reason and they are in no way more powerful than any other magic user. Hades could be the first dark one. And I know i’m reaching but….. Look at the smoke… Doesn’t it KINDA SORTA look like a side view of Hades’s head >> Im just saying, dearies.
QOD Ursula wasn’t actually a goddess, she was just named after the one in Ariel.
I think season 5 is going to feature Dark Emma.

ParticipantA Fan On Twitter Made This….And It Makes Sense With The Black Smoke!

Love your new sig.
Hades does make sense in some ways, for example, the Anastasia story if she is dead though why couldn’t they have at least said that in show? However, I think if they do go there, it’s only opening a can of worms. If they bring back one character (Ana) then why can’t they bring back another (Nealfire) or any other character that people have taken a liking too? Everyone has their favourites.
I personally don’t want Hades (especially if he’s not voiced by James Woods) as an arc villain because he’s too big in terms of power, he’s a god. Also his job is all to do with death which is an irrefutable part of life and messing with that would be catastrophic. An episode guest star might be okay (though going after Hook or Rumple for cheating death via Neverland and Immortality respectively could be interesting) but again I think introducing gods, because if you introduce Hades you’d have to have at least Zeus and Hercules if you’re going for the Disney version, upsets the power balance.
