What if this Ursula isn’t the same Ursula we saw in Ariel but is named after her?

For them to be together again, yes, Rumple IS going to have to be selfless and he IS going to have to be willing to let her go freely.

And that’s not going to be easy. Nor will it be easy for Belle to forgive him for betraying, using, and lying to her.

All that has to happen before I can be entirely happy with them together again as a couple. And I acknowledge that in a real world situation, I’d want Belle as far away as possible and our beloved imp locked away for life. But this is a story.

And I love them and I love them together all the same.

I will love RumBelle to the bitter end and I totally get why Rumple did what he did this episode but I must admit that the way he deceived Belle is a bit of a moral dilemma. How will she forgive him or will she ever find out what he did? If she doesn’t, what does that mean for them?

I did like the scene in the shop where he does ask her about her new relationship and she has the rose. Perhaps Rumple did to Will what he did to Gaston? LOL.

I have the feeling that Rumple is going to let Belle “go” because he loves her and wants her to be happy, even if it’s with Will instead of him, and THAT is going to make Belle realise that Rumple loves her and is choosing to put her first.

Underwhelming is the right word. I don’t see why Regina would still have trouble learning magic at this stage of the game. (On the flipside, it justifies Zelena’s freak out that Rumple would choose Regina over her since Zelena was clearly the better student).

I liked Mal’s outfit and hair in flashback when she’s getting high. I wish she’d rediscovered her purpose on her own though. I dislike it when a character’s “greatness” as we know them is only because they met a certain character in their life. It approaches Mary Sue territory. Anna was the Mary Sue of 4A, I hope they don’t make Regina one in 4B.

    Liked:

Flashback Rumple- Especially liked the part where he is stood on the gate and Regina opens it so he just swings back with the gate.

Cruella- She’s definitely my favourite of the QoD. Loved the part where she makes Mal pay up on a bet they had.

No Robin- It’s been nice to have a break from the OQ angst, I’ve certainly not missed it. It makes me wonder if the writers realised they misfired OQ in 4A so they’ve given it a break and then are going to reset it and give it a more positive spin.

    Mixed:

The QoD raising hell in Storybrooke- I like the idea of the QoD having a wild night out, I just wish we had chance to see it on screen.

Down and Out Mal- I liked seeing Mal in the “don’t give a crap anymore” phase, but wish she’d found her own reason to fight back rather than Regina doing all the leg work.

RumBelle’s scenes- I can see why Rumple did what he did, especially as Belle so easily gave his dagger to “Hook” his arch enemy, but it does raise a bit of a moral issue in regards to them being together. Does Belle forgive Rumple or does she never find out what he did because of the oath with “Hook”? (Also, unlike Snow, Belle can actually keep a secret). What Rumple is doing in 4B does seem a bit worse than in 4A since here he is actively setting out to deceive Belle whereas in 4A, he was just trying to avoid her finding out what he was up to. It does seem like Rumple’s made things really difficult for himself by giving Belle the dagger only to fake it and then steal it back etc when several times Belle had offered to give him the dagger and he turned it down. It defies logic.

    Disliked:

Mal’s castle- In season 1, it was by a lake, now it’s halfway up a mountain surrounded by wasteland. It joins the curtains in the minor but major continuity errors.

Stefan- Mal was minding her own business and Stefan just came up and harassed her for no reason. She’d given up, she wasn’t causing any issue so why did he decide to provoke her? He made the situation worse.

Snowing- How thick can they get? How did Snow ever survive as a bandit if her version of covert meeting is out in the open or as a large group in the library?

Flashback Regina-Timeline wise I’ve worked out that the episode takes place before Fruit of the Poisonous tree before Regina has Leopold killed. What throws it out though is how Regina is still in “Young Regina” mode. At least nearly a decade has passed since she was struggling with magic, she should really be more proficient in magic and more devious at this stage of the game than she was presented in this episode. Hated how Regina harmed the horse.

Pinocchio being turned back into August so easily- If all it took was Rumple waving his dagger, why didn’t they ask him to do this back in season 2?

Modern day Regina- She was so being played by the QoD and Rumple.

OUAT, in my opinion, works best when it’s over the top, to the point of being tongue in cheek. I mean, it’s a tv show about fairy tales and magic and things that go bump in the night…if I wanted reality, this is not the show I’d turn to. So…I agree with Keb and the others that said it – bring on the camp.

Whilst I agree with this to an extent, at the same time I like the show to be believable (or as believable a show about fairytales can be).

I’d like to see the characters having realistic reactions to situations and traumatic reveals, not just getting over it within the day.

Without Baelfire, without any links to Neverland, and without the Milah motivation which is the underlying cause of the antagonism with Rumple, Hook’s whole purpose on the show now is to be Emma’s love interest. That is his sole role. If he doesn’t have that, he is useless and superfluous to the story. Whatever the issue with Ursula is, it didn’t have to be Hook that wronged her, any other person could’ve probably filled that role (it’s not like where it had to be Hook picking Bae up in Neverland). The writers are trying to keep Hook relevant to the story but unfortunately for them, by taking out Baelfire, they also took out a lot of Hook’s potential storylines outside of Emma. Emma is now carrying Hook’s character because, without her, Hook is pointless.

Regina: 3, 2, 1 dramatic turn. Come on Regina, you’ve practiced this for hours.

Greg: Hey! What are you doing in my room?

Regina: I’ve been expecting you! *nailed it*

Regina: I remember you! You’re the little boy whose life I completely destroyed. You’ve grown up well.

Greg: Whoa lady! You killed my dad, hands to yourself!

Regina: But this is how I say hello to all my former victims.

Greg: You might want to work on that!

Regina: Well look at us exchanging self-improvement advice. My turn!

Regina: Let’s see. First, grow a beard, it’s all the rage with the eligible bachelors in Storybrooke at the moment.

Regina: Secondly, start wearing a suit or leather. Both are popular with the ladies.

Greg: Are you out of your mind?

Regina: Oh if I had a nickel every time someone asked me that.

Regina: Well I’m off to continue my mayoral duties because I run this town.

Regina: So be afraid, be very afraid!

The problem though, is there is probably more than one book. Blue mentioned multiple works, and it seems likely that the special book in Oz was by the author as well. Didn’t Glinda say that it told the entire history of Oz, including the future?

But I still think there is some connection to Pinocchio via enchanted wood.

Sometimes a show disappointing you provides greater inspiration for fanfic than a show you are over the moon with.
