ParticipantUnless Regina gets a new love interest, I think the best Regina can hope for now is to be a mom to Henry, a sister to Zelena, mayor of SB, and friends with the Charmings. Maybe that could be a positive message about being happy even while single; it would actually be nice to see Regina keep it together and find happiness in spite of everything she’s lost. It would be a stark contrast to how Emma fell apart when she lost Hook and couldn’t even function without him.
Beside the fact that any man dating Regina should get his affairs in order given the fates of Regina’s last two lovers, I don’t think there will realistically be enough time for Regina to get over Robin and move in. If she did, it would be awfully quick especially as she mourned Daniel for over 28 years plus.
I actually didn’t mind Hook last episode. I liked his broship with Arthur. Hook can work as a character in his own right, the problem is that the writers force him into a role that doesn’t fit him. CS is not good for either Hook or Emma especially Emma whose character has been butchered beyond recognition to make CS work. Her making out with Hook when Robin’s coffin wasn’t even in the ground was disgraceful. Hook’s character is most likeable when he shares a scene with another male character (who isn’t Rumple) and Emma is not present.

ParticipantScrewball Ninja came up with an interesting interpretation. Basically “OUAT is pushing redemption over justice. The villains take precedence over the victims, for better or worse.”

ParticipantWhere exactly are they? Robin Hood’s apartment? Why was Roland living in the woods?

ParticipantI wonder if Rumple’s “my kingdom” line wasn’t meant so literally. Perhaps he meant it more in a “this is my domain” way?
Like that Rumple believe he is the big cheese and there can’t be a bigger cheese than himself?
yeah, kind of in a “you’re in my town now” kind of way.
A Podunk with NO ONE IN IT. Seriously, that town is a ghost town except for the CharMillStiltskins and their “friends”
“Friends” is too strong a word, I’d say “walking, talking plot conveniences”.
One thing I miss about the early seasons of Once is the small town feel. In season 1 you never saw every nook and cranny of Storybrooke but it felt alive with people.

ParticipantHenry wanting to destroy magic last time was so irritating and he was such a pain in the backside that I wanted the dynamite to blow his hand off to teach him a lesson (even if Regina repaired it afterwards). That was when he was an annoying brat in season 2. He was still a kid then and could’ve perhaps got away with it on the cuteness factor.
Henry is no longer a kid, he’s lost the cuteness factor so now he’s just going to be a pain in the backside. I’m rooting for the dynamite again.

ParticipantCause ripping off Buffy and Game of Thrones is not enough so they did Harry Potter as well. What will be the next film/TV/book/story they rip off?
Doctor Who?
I’ve said this many times before but Hook is a creator’s pet. He meets all the criteria required to be considered one.
From Tv Tropes http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CreatorsPet
The Creator’s Pet is a combination of being:
• Hated by fans (The Scrappy)
• Loved (or worshipped) by the writers (Creator’s Favorite)
• Put into big scenes for no reason (Character Focus)
• Talked up by the other characters (Character Shilling)Robin was never built up to be anything other than Regina’s purse holder. The writers made that mistake in 3B and they never corrected it. Robin still shouldn’t have died though.

Why didn’t Emma listen to Neal’s warning? *headdesk!*Because Emma is now a selfish cow who doesn’t give a crap about others so long as she gets what she wants?

ParticipantYeah, CS’ makeout scene in front of the coffin was in bad taste. I’m surprised they didn’t go the whole hog and have them make out ON the coffin not that Emma would give a damn because so long as she had HER man back, she doesn’t care about anything else.
As for Hook not batting an eye if everyone else died (obviously with the exception of Emma), I don’t think he would be too cut up over it. He’d acknowledge the death and the meaning the person had to Emma (So if the death was Belle or Rumple, don’t expect any sort of emotion other than “oh well” in Belle’s case and “woohoo” in Rumple’s case), then Hook would be more than happy for Emma to cry on his shoulder whilst he “comforts” her.
Overall, I liked Hook this episode. However, I think that’s because he was written in broship mode with Arthur rather than romantic ship mode with Emma at least for most of the Episode. For me, Hook is better and more tolerable when he’s interacting and having to work with another male instead of gushing over Emma.
The problem with CS is that neither character fits the role they’re forced into. Hook isn’t a knight in shining armour, he’s done bad things, but rather than have him deal with his past and evolve, the writers ignore it and try and whitewash him. Because the character hasn’t done the legwork, his “redemption” is hollow. There’s no substance to it and, unlike Regina whose return to the dark side would be a tragedy because of all the work she’s put in, whenever Hook turns “dark” it’s less “oh no how terrible” and more “Hook’s finally showing his true colours and as usual it’s being whitewashed because Hook is a creator’s pet who ticks all the criteria”. This creates problems especially when it bares similarities to other characters eg Hook as the dark one. Either he wasn’t accountable for his actions as the DO in which case Rumple shouldn’t be held accountable either, or if Rumple is accountable for his DO actions then Hook needs to be accountable too. You can’t have a special rule for one character to absolve them of all blame and demonise others for the same actions.
Emma’s character has been butchered to make CS work. Out of all the “heroes”, Emma is now the most unlikeable.

ParticipantI quite liked Arthur this episode. Given Cruella’s reaction towards him when she first saw him, I don’t think Cruella would mind being Arthur’s “queen”.
As for Arthur himself, it seems the writers can’t decide whether they want Arthur to be a villain or a misguided man who did terrible things with the best of intentions and this is him starting to make up for them.
For me Arthur was preferable to Emma this episode.
