ParticipantThere’s still a problem with the photobucket pictures but at least now I can post some new stuff.

Hook: You want to know how my fishing trip went?
Hook: I got lost with Cora for several hours, I was cold, hungry and tired, and worst of all, I didn’t catch a single fish. That is how my fishing trip went!
Archie: I’m sorry I asked! I was only trying to make conversation.
Hook: How do you know about my fishing trip anyway? I never met you before. What are you doing on my ship?
Archie: Cora invited me, said she just wanted someone to talk to. I came over and now Cora won’t let me leave.
Hook: So this is what Cora meant when she said she’d found a man who listens to her.
Hook: Sucks to be you, mate.
Archie: Please let me go. I promise not to tell anyone you’re here.
Hook: And have Cora talk my ear off instead?
Hook: No Chance.
Archie: Dammit![adrotate group="5"]All magic comes with a price!

ParticipantPerhaps Neverland is a flashback rather than the characters going to Neverland. You could parallel what happened with Hook and Bae in Neverland to what’s happening with Hook and Bae in Storybrooke. I think Bae may have been a pirate rather than Peter Pan.
Hook really needs another storyline that isn’t about revenge against Rumple or being a love interest for Emma. Unfortunately, he’s probably not going to get that this season and unless he receives it during season 3 then I don’t think his character will last beyond the third season.

ParticipantThe whole Snow killed Cora situation could’ve been completely avoided if Cora had just transported the Charmings plus Bae away to the forest like she did Emma and Neal later on. She would have then just been able to walk up to Rumple and stab him, he wasn’t going anywhere.

ParticipantI think Rumple needs Belle to bring out the good in him. Without her, it would be all to easy to revert to his previous manipulative ways. Snow was well aware that Rumple was trying to manipulate her. The fact that he directed her to the cupboard where the candle just happened to be wasn’t subtle, and Rumple is a master of subtlety. Cora was right to be worried that Rumple had time to think, he pretended to be getting better so that he could get to the shop, Rumple had probably planned on using the candle to save his life.
Snow referred to Rumple as “Evil”. He did play the “I’m Henry’s grandfather” card but it wasn’t like Snow didn’t know what he was trying to get her to do. She wanted to kill Cora but didn’t like the consequences once she had set the wheels in motion.
Whilst it was morally wrong for Rumple to manipulate Snow like he did, you can’t help but be a little impressed that he had the balls to actually do that whilst he was dying and for it to actually work. Also you can’t fully blame him for Cora’s death when Snow actually used the candle, she knew what she was doing. Rumple directed Snow to the candle, Snow did the rest. She took the candle from the cupboard, sneaked away to Regina’s mausoleum, rooted through Cora’s stuff until she found the heart, lit the candle and cursed the heart, then gave the heart to Regina. At any time Snow could have stopped. She could have done what she said she could’ve done: let Rumple die and control Cora’s heart “Takes care of two evils at once” but Snow still carried through.
As for people’s reactions to what Rumple did:
Snow- Would blame herself. She knew she could have stopped but didn’t. She feels guilty over what she did which means she’s not evil but she would doubt whether she is a good person.
Charming- Would probably punch Rumple in the face. Charming would completely blame Rumple for what Snow did.
Emma- Probably wouldn’t want Henry anywhere near Rumple which would suit Rumple just fine.
Bae- Would be disappointed with his dad and would think that Rumple hasn’t changed at all. This would be a setback to their reunion.
Belle- Once Belle gets her memories back, I think she would listen to Rumple’s side of the story before judging him. She’d probably want to know if there was another way that could’ve saved Rumple without killing Cora. When she finds out there wasn’t, I think she’d side with Rumple.

ParticipantHook is not exactly a child friendly guy. He is too focussed on his revenge against Rumple to care about who gets hurt in the crossfire. Henry would just be collateral damage.
All of the characters of Once have something in common with their literary counterparts and you can see how the tales we know could’ve come about even though they are not entirely correct according to the show. For example, Rumple still spins straw into gold and makes deals like he did in the original tale of Rumplestiltskin. The two big things about Hook are that his hand was taken by a crocodile and he is mortal enemies with Peter Pan. Once has already done its twist on Hook losing his hand to a “crocodile” but has not yet covered the Hook/Peter rivalry.
Why would our version of Peter Pan have Hook trying to kill Peter Pan when in “reality” Hook wouldn’t hurt a child?

ParticipantBelle brings out the best in Rumple and he needs her for that. In Miller’s daughter, Rumple almost seemed like he was reverting back to his old ways when he manipulated Snow into using the candle. He doesn’t want anything to do with Henry (because Henry is the boy the seer spoke about) yet Rumple’s not afraid to play the “I’m Henry’s grandfather” card when it suits him.
It’s only when Rumple spoke to Belle and then Bae after that he wasn’t trying to be manipulative. He even asked Cora if she ever really loved him.

ParticipantPerhaps Leopold was a good influence on her or the birth of Snow made her grow up a bit.

ParticipantI think Hook would use Henry against Rumple hence Henry being Rumple’s “undoing”. Based on Rumple’s reactions to Henry so far, since finding out that Henry is his grandson and the boy the seer spoke about, I think Rumple is trying to keep Henry at arm’s length for both their sakes. He’s trying to push Henry away and not care for him. However, ultimately Rumple loves his little family- Belle, Bae and now Henry are part of that family, and he would do anything to protect them.
Henry is going to be really confused over Rumple’s behaviour towards him. He used to get on with Rumple before they found out they were related so he’s going to wonder why his grandfather is suddenly rejecting him.
I think Hook may pull a Lion King. With Hook taking on the role of Scar and Henry being Simba. Rumple would sort of be Mufasa. Hook would put Henry in a position where Rumple would have to save him with the hope that Rumple will be killed in the process.
Similar to a scene like this but minus the stampede.

Or perhaps Hook uses Henry to manipulate Bae to get to Rumple in which case Bae may be Simba.

ParticipantIf Belle married Rumple, thus making her step-grandmother to Henry, then Moe French/Maurice would also be Henry’s step-great-grandfather.
Also, James seemed to be a real womaniser so it’s possible that some of his flings could have resulted in children that he refused to recognise so Henry could have lots of illegitimate cousins once removed.
Cora would have been Henry’s step-great-great-grandmother and just grandmother since she’s Emma’s step-great-grandmother and Snow’s grandmother and Regina’s mother.
Perhaps the writers should have Henry do his family tree for a school project.

ParticipantHere’s another Pondering. Does Hook know Bae is Rumple’s son? Bae and Hook knew each other in Neverland so if Hook knew about Bae’s connection to Rumple, has he already told Bae about Milah’s death and if not, why hasn’t he?
What if Bae doesn’t realise the woman Hook loved and lost was his mother?
