ParticipantI wonder if, in order to return to Enchanted Forest, Henry must be sacrificed. In order to enact the curse, Regina has to sacrifice the heart of the thing you loved most. It makes sense that in order to make the return trip, the thing you love most needs to be sacrificed again and Henry is the only one that connects all the major players.

ParticipantI would take inspiration from two successful spin offs- Angel and Torchwood. Darker in tone than their mainstream series- Buffy the vampire Slayer and Doctor Who respectively, both spin offs took a popular but not main character and focussed on them, giving them new characters to interact with, sometimes having main characters from the mainstream series guest starring in episodes, and also having storylines that don’t necessarily impact on the mainstream series. It should be a kind of what the character gets up to between their appearances in the mainstream series.
First thing to consider: When should the spin off take place? Past or present? I would say present. You can’t really do any life or death situations in the past because you know the character survives to be in Storybrooke. Also what is the tone of the show going to be: Darker, same, lighter? I would go for the same tone as OUAT.
Next: Which character? All of the big names are out ( Snow, Charming, Rumple, Belle, Henry, Regina and Hook) Jefferson would be a good one- going with the present day thing, it would be what he’s doing when he’s not in OUAT- We can see him being a single father, trying to bring up his daughter and also supporting the two of them. You can have humour if some of the single ladies of Storybrooke take a shine to Jefferson.
Archie, Grumpy and the Dwarves, Perhaps even regular guest appearance from Red and Granny if the spin off characters drop by Granny’s diner during each episode.
The main character of the spinoff needs to be someone who the audience has already been introduced to on OUAT whilst the rest of the characters can be ones who haven’t yet appeared on OUAT.

ParticipantWe know Granny had a heart attack pre-pilot which stopped Ruby from leaving Storybrooke and sleeping her way down the eastern seaboard. Perhaps the stress of everything that’s going on in Storybrooke at the moment causes Granny to have another heart attack and she dies.

I will throw my random guess out there…..The only “major character” that I think could be cleanly killed off is Granny. She has already groomed Ruby to take over the business and her role, she doesn’t have any unfinished business that effects the major plot lines, it would upset people, and everyone already hangs out at her diner so what better place for everyone to come remember/mourn her death?
That is an interesting thought and makes so much sense. Plus it would give Ruby something to do, can deal with the theme of bereavement perhaps through natural causes (how much more heartbreaking would it be to have a character naturally die of old age rather than be murdered through magic or other means) and would also slim down the cast to make room for new characters next season.
They look like they’ll be finishing off the Pinocchio arc which’ll take Gepetto and Pinocchio out of the equation. Archie’s role has been reduced since the first season so with Pinocchio and Gepetto out and Henry not needing him any more, Archie may no longer be required.
If Granny dies, it’ll free up another cast space.
That’s potentially four characters that won’t be returning next season. All magic comes with a price!

Henry is a product of statutory rape, and he was an accident and a painful remainder for Emma of Neil’s betrayal.
WOAH WOAH WOAH…. STRONG hateraid against Henry now…. I don’t know why you feel that ANY child could EVER be a mistake, but I think you have your facts incorrect.
Oregon law states age of consent is 18, and in all of the laws I read on this subject there is only rape in 1st 2nd and 3rd degree (3rd degree is 16 or younger and the other two are 14 and 12). I find it REALLY sad that you could say a child is a mistake for the societal fo-pas of his parent. Regardless of the age of his mother when she conceived, Henry is NOT a mistake, nor is any child whether born to a teen or an adult. You may not share THAT belief, but if you have paying attention to the show you will atleast agree that NOTHING in this show is a mistake.
As for saying he is a painful reminder of her betrayl- you must not have watched the season finale of season 1 when Emma woke Henry up with TRUE LOVES KISS. THAT would tell me that she loves her son and he is NOT a reminder of Neil’s betrayl. She gave him up to give him his best chance as said in the show MANY times- not because he reminded her of Neil. Why would she get rid of the kid and NOT the VW Bug OR the NECKLACE that he gave her if she was worried about reminders?
Sorry, but there are HOLES in your thinking.
ihr didn’t say that Henry was a mistake. He/She said that Henry was an accident. Accident is sometimes used to mean unplanned. Henry was unplanned which I agree with. You could also say that Henry was a surprise for Emma. With the life Emma and Neal were living, such as running into vacated motel rooms to shower, and then Emma going to prison, having a child wouldn’t have been the top of Emma’s to do list.
I agree that Emma gave up Henry because she wanted to give him his best chance, not because he reminded her of Neal. If she was literally living in the back of her car after her release from prison, she may have realised that that wasn’t the best environment to raise a child especially if she didn’t know where the next meal would be coming from.
I don’t ship Swanfire and I don’t ship Captain Swan, If I had my way Emma would end up with neither of them but would be on civil terms with Neal for Henry’s sake.

ParticipantNot necessarily. Hook climbed down the beanstalk and met Cora who was very annoyed with Hook. Cora then poofed away and did the zombie thing with the hearts, then you had the whole catch Aurora and take Aurora’s heart, then you had Rumple’s Cell and Lake Nostos. Perhaps the giant climbed down the beanstalk in order to get his bean back from Hook when Cora shrunk him?

He had zero self-confidence from everyone calling him a coward all the time, including and especially her *is getting a bit worked up here* (And actually that is my issue against Belle, the fact that she sticks the knife a little deeper each time she calls him a coward. I like her, but I wish she’d stopped doing that)
I don’t think Belle calls Rumple a coward to deliberately stick the knife in. She truly loves him but there are times when he needs to be given a harsh dose of truth to make him see sense. Belle doesn’t call him a coward to belittle him like Milah did. In the crocodile, Belle gave Rumple ample opportunity be honest and tell her the truth about what he was doing and why he brought magic to Storybrooke. He didn’t and it caused a rift in their relationship. When he did eventually tell her the truth, they got back together and their relationship was stronger than it was before. A good relationship is built on a foundation of trust.
I’m not saying she is doing it deliberately to hurt him… but each time she does you see him clench up and retreat in his shell. He believes it when someobe calls him a coward, even more than the person who calls him that. It’s not helping him become a better man, instead it does the opposite. Get a clue, Belle, you are hurting the man you love!
Belle has only called Rumple a coward twice. Once in fairytale land in Skin Deep when he was throwing her out and the second time in the Crocodile when she said he was two cowardly to be honest with her. Twice in thirty years isn’t bad. Also Rumple admitted to Belle that he was a coward in the Crocodile. He knows it to be true but she has inspired him to change for the better.
