Everyone referred to Rumple as either Mr Gold or Gold including Regina. If she gave him a silly first name, you would think she would use it, if only to get one up on him by reminding him that she gave him a silly name.

Perhaps he is actually less scary to everyone as Mr Gold than he is as Damien Gold. They’ve already thrown in nods to E.T and Star Wars, why not throw in a reference to The Omen. (If only someone could do a video of Mr Gold clips with the theme from The Omen)

I think his name will be something that sounds unthreatening. Everyone was afraid of Mr Gold, but would they have been if they knew his first name. Bob or Keith is a pretty unthreatening name. “Watch out! Here comes Keith” is hardly going to send people running for the hills. A name like Damien on the other hand….

Damien Gold actually has quite a ring to it and would sort of go with Rumple being the Dark One.

Colin O’Donoghue is also scheduled to be at Paleyfest so I don’t think Hook is going anywhere.

Hook went after Belle because she is where Rumple kept his heart, what’s he going to do to Bae (assuming Bae is Neal) because not only is Bae Rumple’s son, he is also a potential rival for Emma’s affections.

If Hook and Emma did get together it wouldn’t last. Henry is the most important person in Emma’s life and Hook isn’t the most kid friendly of people. Hook’s not going to tolerate Henry for long and Henry wouldn’t want Emma with Hook because Hook is a “villain”.

Perhaps Hook’s mother didn’t die but ran off with another man and had another family.

Hook steals mothers away from their children eg Milah, so it could be a result of him having his mother stolen away from him as a child.
