ParticipantHook is in Storybrooke for one reason and one reason only, to get revenge against Rumple.
Once that Story arc’s been and gone, what then for Hook? Keep him around as potential love interest for Emma even though we know she’s not going to let him near Henry? THey could do that within season 2 whilst Hook still has purpose in Storybrooke.
When Hook leaves Storybrooke (whether that’s by being killed off, being banished to another realm or just travelling and exploring our world), he doesn’t necessarily have to leave the show per se, he can still appear in flashbacks like Graham. With them bringing in new characters each season, it’s also likely that Hook has crossed paths with plenty of characters and will appear in their stories so he’s not going to suddenly cease to exist.

Blue Fairy – unlikely, especially that she’s also a nun so she probably wouldn’t be lured by Hook’s ‘sweet’ words…
True but in the words of Dr Whale “Are the nuns still nuns or can they, you know, date?”
Hook plays whatever angle works best. He tried the “poor me, I survived a massacre” angle when he first met Emma and when that didn’t work, he tried the honesty angle instead.
With Blue Fairy, I can see him appealing to her sense of the greater good. He won’t try and sweet talk her in the traditional sense but more along the lines of “Don’t you think the world would be a better place without the Dark one in it. Help me and I’ll make sure that ideal becomes a reality”

ParticipantIt’s Emma’s facial expression that makes it work, she just looks so uncomfortable. 😆

ParticipantI don’t think Snow’s mom and Cora are sisters because otherwise that would mean that Cora wanted Regina to marry her uncle. I know Cora’s messed up but I don’t think she’s that messed up. Also this is a family show, and Regina marrying her uncle would be just plain wrong.
My theory is that Cora was a maid for Snow’s mom.
Maids weren’t too important so it is likely nobody would remember Cora. She was just there to serve, if she couldn’t do it, then they’re were plenty of other maids who could. We know Cora is ambitious so she probably wasn’t satisfied with being a servant, she wanted to be the one being served. If Snow’s mom died then Cora may have lost her job. Without Cora’s income, Cora and her miller father may have been struggling to get by. They were getting desperate and this is where Rumple enters the picture with his ability to recognise a desperate soul. Perhaps Rumple helps Cora and her father get back on their feet by spinning straw into gold for a price. Rumple may then forbid Cora and her father from ever speaking of his involvement like how Charming’s parents weren’t allowed to speak of their deal. News begins to travel about Cora and her father’s new wealth and attracts the attention of Henry Senior’s father. When asked how the straw was turned into gold, unable to tell of Rumple’s involvement, Cora’s father lies and says Cora did it. Henry Senior’s father takes Cora back to his castle and then does the tests like in the original story and Rumple appears etc etc.
Henry Senior knows of Rumple but did not know his name so it is unlikely that Cora sent out servants across the land to find out his name.

ParticipantI think getting rid of Hook wouldn’t hurt the story of once. It is the story that is important. Whilst audience figures may help networks decide whether or not to renew a show for another season, it is the story that helps pull the audience in and compels them to watch the show. If the story is rubbish the audience isn’t going to watch.
The one thing we’ve got to consider, in terms of story, is that neither Rumple or Hook as characters are going to be happy coexisting in Storybrooke. We know Rumple leaves Storybrooke to find Bae which mean that Hook and Rumple aren’t going to be butting heads for an episode or two. Hook’s entire story arc this season is about revenge against Rumple, once that’s taken away what is Hook going to do? It’s better he goes out with a bang than a whimper.
Also I think a lot of Hook fan would be okay with Hook’s departure if it was done in a satisfying way. If Hook were to sacrifice himself for Emma, the CaptainSwan fans would be sad that he went but happy that he went in such style. He could be banished to another realm so it is possible for him to return as and when the story requires him.
To keep him around with nothing to do just for the sake of keeping him around is not the right way to go in my opinion. Not forgetting Hook is a pirate. He never stays in one place too long without a purpose. For him to just hang about Storybrooke with nothing to do would be out of character.
