Regina: Henry had better appreciate what I’m doing for him. Playing nice isn’t as easy as it looks.
Rumplestiltskin: Regina, to what do I owe the displeasure?
Regina: Henry asked me to come.
Rumplestiltskin: The boy’s got you wrapped round his little finger has he?
Regina: No. I’m doing this for him because I want to. I want to be good.
Rumplestiltskin: Good luck with that.
Regina: I’m serious!
Rumplestiltskin: Course you are.
Regina: I’m not here about me. Apparently Charming needs you. Henry wants you to go over there and sort him out.
Rumplestiltskin: Does he now?
Regina: I never thought I’d see the day when you’d be reduced to being friends with Charming of all people.
Rumplestiltskin:At least I’ve got friends.
Regina: I’m leaving.
Rumplestiltskin: Before you go, answer me this. How many friends have you got?
Rumplestiltskin: Exactly.
Regina: I’ll get myself some friends, you’ll see!All magic comes with a price!

ParticipantIntroducing new characters is all well and good, but it should not be at the expense of pre-existing characters. Hook’s introduction has been very successful because during the majority of his early episodes, he shared scenes with pre-existing characters (Rumple, Cora, Emma) which allowed the audience to get to know him as a character in his own right. Mulan and Aurora’s introduction however, was less successful in my opinion, they felt forced on the audience. Their first few scenes were annoying because they were taking time away from pre-existing characters that the audience already know and love. In Broken, how many of us were more interested in what was happening in Storybrooke than in present day fairytale land with Aurora and Mulan?

Henry: You’ve got to come quickly! Grandpa’s at the ice cream again!
Red: I’m a little busy right now, Henry. In case you haven’t noticed, my grandmother is in a crowded room with a crossbow!
Henry: If you won’t help me, I’ll find someone who will!
Regina: You want me to do what?
Henry: Find Rumplestiltskin, tell him Grandpa needs him.
Regina: What makes you think Rumplestiltskin would help Charming?
Henry: They’re supposedly friends, though the sooner that friendship breaks up the better.
Regina: Rumplestiltskin and Charming are friends? Really?
Henry: Unfortunately. Tell Rumplestiltskin that unless he comes and sorts Grandpa out, he’s getting a brick through his shop window.
Regina: Violence isn’t the way to solve problems……
Henry: Says the woman who’s spent her life so far trying to kill Snow White.
Regina: Yes, well… this conversation isn’t about me. It’s about you and how you’re not going to throw bricks through windows.
Henry: That all depends on if you do as I ask. If you do, I’ll consider spending more time with you.
Regina: That’s emotional blackmail.
Henry: Guess I learnt something from you. Don’t let me down, mom!All magic comes with a price!

ParticipantBelle won’t be killed by Hook because she is an important part of Rumple’s arc. I think Hook underestimates Belle. He thinks she’s just a pretty face that he can use to get what he wants.
