Keeper of FelixI know which is why I think Rumple may use Belle’s father as the unwilling test subject. Belle has no emotional attachment to Hook or Smee. Although she may disapprove of what Rumple may do to them, it’s not going to make her despondent whereas something happening to her father would.

Keeper of FelixIt seems that either Rumple beats Hook with his cane in this episode or last and Belle finds out or Belle discovers that Rumple’s “unwilling test subject” in The Outsider was her father. I see her being more “despondent” over her father than Hook.

Keeper of FelixWhat if the unwilling test subject is Moe French? He did try to erase Belle’s memory after all.
As for Belle and Mulan teaming up, it must take place between Belle leaving the dark castle and being captured by Regina. Perhaps after Belle’s scene in Dreamy.
The Rumple and Regina scene in Skin Deep at the dark castle must take place several weeks/months after Belle left which would explain why Rumple believed Regina about Belle’s death.
