The thing is they can’t redeem every single villain that appears on the show. They can show the motivations behind the villain’s actions and show that good and evil isn’t simply black and white but the audience will get bored if every villain becomes good.

Rumple is not going to be happy having Hook around Storybrooke. He knows Hook has a vendetta against him and, given Hook’s history stealing Rumple’s woman, Rumple isn’t going to want Hook anywhere near Belle.

Hook has already spent half the season saying he’s going to kill Rumple. To change his mind would be very sudden and unrealistic. Plus they are going to have to make room for next season’s villains. Hook’s been tied to the revenge plot, outside of that he’s not really got much going on.

I’m not saying they necessarily have to kill Hook off, but they can’t leave him and Rumple in the same town and expect them to get on. It’s not in their characters.

They’re already doing the redemption/ changing for the bettter arcs with Regina and Rumple.

Neither Hook nor Rumple are the type to forget and forgive. Hook has spent too long focussed on his quest for revenge to let Rumple get away with what he did. The two characters can’t coexist peacefully in the same town. Either one has to kill the other or Hook has to leave Storybrooke.

I never thought about Gepetto betraying them. Interesting theory TheGoldenKey.

I still think Blue Fairy is going to betray them. Gepetto hasn’t really been important this season. If betraying the Charmings was going to be a big deal, you would think that the betrayer would be shown a lot around the Charmings. Gepetto has rarely been shown at all. Blue Fairy on the other hand…..

Pongo being alone on the title card and the episode title certainly suggest that Archie is a dead man.

Belle wouldn’t flirt with anyone but Rumple. She’s loyal and wouldn’t deliberately flirt with someone just to annoy him. She knows what he can be like. He’s all sweetness and light with her but he can have a nasty temper on him with everyone else. Belle wouldn’t want to put anyone at risk just because she was angry with Rumple.

Personally, I hope that (after lots of fighting, and many episodes) Rumple finally gets to kill Hook.

I agree. Hook has been looking for a way to kill Rumple ever since Milah’s death. That has been his main objective and he’s hardly going to give up on that easily. He’s not going to sit by and let Rumple live. A fight to the death is the only resolution for Hook’s revenge plot. Rumple has more storytelling potential than Hook does.

If they don’t kill off Hook, they may have him banished to another land (perhaps Oz) so that they can bring him back later if necessary without having him and Rumple in the same town.

Rumple loves Bae. Controlling someone isn’t love.

Cora never took Regina’s heart even though she could’ve and it would have made it easier to control Regina. Why didn’t she? Because Cora loves Regina in her own twisted way.

Rumple would never harm Bae, at least not intentionally.

The dagger does not truly kill the dark one. Think of the dark one as a parasite. It latches onto a host and keeps the host alive and immortal so that it itself can survive. Whenever its host is stabbed with the dagger, the dark one latches itself onto the person who did the stabbing thus gaining a new host. The host cannot stab themselves with the dagger because they are just putting the dark one back into themselves and thus surviving.

True love’s kiss- I think this may actually work in breaking the curse. If the dark one parasite infects its host with evil then it is likely going to be defeated by something as pure and good as true love. In general the likelihood of anyone loving the dark one is pretty slim. Then along comes Belle and she sees Rumple, not as the dark one, but for the man he is underneath. She truly loves him and he loves her and that powerful emotion is enough to threaten the dark one’s hold on Rumple.

It could explain why Rumple let Bae go, the son he loves more then anything. The dark one parasite sensed the threat the portal held for it. It refused to let Rumple go with Bae. When the portal was gone, the dark one wasn’t threatened anymore. Notice how Rumple went from “I can’t” when the portal was there to “I want to go with you Bae” when the portal was gone.
