ParticipantThat’s an interesting thought. Cora wants Regina to need her. Cora is going to continue to mess up Regina’s life so that Regina continues to need her.

ParticipantCora’s definition of helping Regina is completely differerent from everybody elses. Cora “helped” Regina be queen by ripping out Daniel’s heart and crushing it in front of Regina. She then prevented Regina from leaving the kingdom unless she had Leopold with her or until Regina married him.
Cora may believe she is acting out of love for her daughter but it’s not healthy. Regina saying that she loved her mother may actually be her trying to repress the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother.

ParticipantI think Henry should of at least offered Regina if she wanted to come along and given her the chance to refuse. Whilst it would have been terribly awkward had Regina gone along, and she shouldn’t have, given her history with Snow and everybody else, she is still Henry’s mom. Henry just sort of dropped her. By at least inviting her, Henry would have at least made Regina feel that Emma’s return didn’t mean she was suddenly rejected by him again.

ParticipantDoes anybody else see similarities between Hook’s “rescue” of Belle and Jefferson releasing her in Storybrooke?

ParticipantI always thought Hook’s challenging Cora was him basically saying he wasn’t going down without a fight. Cora wouldn’t want to risk getting herself injured and she decided the crueller punishment for Hook would be to leave him in fairytale land with his revenge unfulfilled.
As for Hook being a nod to Captain Jack Sparrow, whilst I can see the connection with the compass, I think the rest of his attributes are just general pirate stereotype. Captain Jack Sparrow is such an iconic character that making Hook like him would stop Hook from being Hook and make him a ripped off Jack Sparrow if you know what I mean.

maybe he left SB and forgot who he was but this strange connection with Regina will bring him back?
The irony is if anyone tried to leave Storybrooke they would revert back to their Storybrooke selves and thus wouldn’t leave Storybrooke anyway because that is where their homes are. Sidney was in love with Regina in Storybrooke, he even falsely confessed to abduction for her. If Sidney was roaming free around Storybrooke he’d be by Regina’s side like the lovesick fool that he is.

ParticipantHow much control does the person who took the heart have over the person who’s heart they’d taken? Does the heart plucker have to control the heart pluckee’s every move or can the heart pluckee go about their everyday business until their heart is in the heart plucker’s hand, at which point they have to submit to the heart plucker’s will?
