ParticipantI think 5A is a vast improvement over 3B, 4A, 4B, and 5A and I think a lot of that is due to the fact that Hook has a lot less screentime. Whilst the Heroes aim is to save Hook, Hook is not in every scene, it’s refreshing. Hook is such a creator’s pet, the writers seem to think the sun shines out his backside. Hook is such a pain in the arse because his only role is as Emma’s boyfriend and the thing is he’s not done anything to earn that title, he’s done plenty to show why he shouldn’t be boyfriend material and Emma could do a lot better. S1 Emma would never go for someone like Hook because S1 Emma has common sense, self-respect and generally a decent sense of self-worth that wouldn’t lower herself to please the likes of Hook. Hook is slowly suffocating the life out of the show because everything has to be about him and how great the writers think he is. Colin is great but the character is so annoying why can’t they kill Hook off and have Colin appear as a long lost twin of Hook’s that we’ve not heard about who is actually a decent sort of guy and to be frank worst plot devices have happened. Monkey man Walshe was a preferential love interest than Hook because Hook is in many way the noose around OUAT’s neck, slowly strangulating the show to death. What happened to the show about strong women, what happened to Emma who has fallen so far because of Hook being part of her life. When it comes to Hades and Hook, I’m rooting for Hades.
Regina is in many ways the star of the show now. She is the only character who has remained some consistency in her path to redemption even if in 3B there were issues in regards to OQ. OQ could’ve been so much more than it was, it had potential and that potential was squandered in favour for a quick get together that made Robin look like a douche. I don’t want Robin to die if he does indeed die but his character has been wasted ridiculously but not as bad as Will was with that crappy love interest of Belle’s storyline even though we knew it wouldn’t last because of Rumbelle which brings me to the fact that the writers need to grow some balls and do something else with Rumbelle other than constantly have Rumple lie to Belle then Belle breaks up with him then they get back together only for them to repeat the cycle. Don’t get me wrong, I want RumBelle together but how about trying something new writers? How about having RumBelle stick together but Belle starts getting drawn into the darkness so she starts becoming more Lacey like/Dark Belle and that is what inspires Rumple to give up being the dark one for good because it is dragging Belle down and he wants to save her from that? Rumple started off as the best character on the show yet the writers have thrown him under the bus in order to make Hook look good.
I was rooting for Rumple in 4A, Hook started it and it blew up in his face, yet Rumple was treated as a villain. Yeah RUmple wasn’t in the right but still, Hook was treated as an innocent victim when he was anything but. He could’ve put up more resistance than he did, we’ve seen on the show that it can be done, Hook was just a wuss.
Emma is a trainwreck at this juncture, the kindest thing would be to kill her off and put her out of her misery. The whole Snowing clan has suffered all to make Hook look better. Hook is poison to this show. The writers are about to screw up royally if they bring Hook back especially in terms when it comes to other meaningful character deaths. If the “heroes” (inverted commas because can we really 100% honestly call them that anymore?) can save Hook, then why the hell can’t they save anyone else that they love who dies? The Snowing clan have become so selfish, Emma is now the worst, they’re becoming unlikeable.
Zelena is gaining popularity, not because of her own merits but because everyone else is so hypocritical it’s not funny. Zelena sticks a big middle finger up to them and that is why she is the highlight of 5A. I want her to prune the family tree from Emma downwards because Henry is boring and unrealistic. The kid is only meant to be what 13/14 there is no way that a kid hi age would be allowed to deal with the stuff he’s given on the show. He was such a brat in season 2, when he stupidly tried to blow up magic, I was kind of hoping he’d lose an arm or a hand just so he would learn his lesson the hard way and his treatment of Regina was the worst. To not want anything to do with her is one thing, it’s understandable after everything she’d done, but to dangle himself like a carrot just so he would get his own way, then take it away was cruel.
CS is the worst thing to happen to the show in the history of the show. It’s repulsive, vile and is poisoning the show that we used to love so much. There was sexual chemistry in Tallahassee but it was that chemistry where it would be so wrong. For the writers to make CS a thing, what the hell were they thing CS worked better as UST not full blown romance. Hook is the characters you’d tell your daughters to run away from as fast as they could to the ends of the earth if they had to. He is not a nice man, he is not a good man, not a decent man, nowhere in the ball park of being called boyfriend material man, he is the worst thing to happen to the show.
Neal was so much better. yes he and Emma wouldn’t realistically get back together after everything that went down but he was a decent guy, a good father, and all around swell guy and he was thrown under the bus to make CS happen. If the only reason for a ship to happen is because Hook was the only option Emma had, that’s not good. Emma didn’t choose Hook, he choice was taken away. CS is the death of the show.
A good hero you want to win, a good villain you kind of want to win but know they won’t. A bad hero you want the villain to win. I want Hades to win. I want Hades to destroy Hook and make him suffer to make him regret all his past misdeeds at least to the point where Hook feels compelled to go around genuinely apologising for how he has wronged people. I want the characters to stop whitewashing Hook, I want Emma to wake up and smell the coffee. I’d settle for 1 out of 3 because we sure as hell aren’t going to get all 3.

ParticipantI could see Hades taking Robin just to spite the heroes because Robin was supposed to die in 5A. I could see Robin maybe accepting this because he is a man of “honour” and him not dying would have consequences- he couldn’t live with himself if he knew someone else had to take his place etc etc. HOWEVER the problem with this if it is indeed Robin has to die because he was supposed to die in 5A is that HOOK was supposed to die in 5A from the excalibor cut, and was killed again as the DO so there is no fairness in Robin dying because he was supposed to die yet Hook living even though he was in the same boat as Robin.

ParticipantThey may not have ask always been brothers, but could have spilt as part of the curse. so now the Doctor is ironically a patient, ans his caretaker is his evil alter ego.
Never read the story so idk. That sounds like an interesting way to do it… which probably means they won’t do it that way. I’ve not read the book either.
Jekyll and Hyde just seemed to fit for me.

ParticipantWhat if this blind item is for The 100 or maybe the Walking Dead? The walking dead tends to kill off some of its cast regularly so that wouldn’t necessarily be newsworthy but The 100 on the other hand, it’s got several notable characters of varying importance that could be considered stars of that show.

ParticipantAs weird as it sounds, I think this may be Jekyll and Hyde, only they’re brothers (as the casting call said) instead of a split personality.

ParticipantIs the guy playing the head bandit the same actor from last episode who played the guy that Regina and Cora killed?Quote
You know what? I recognised him too. I thought I was going insane. Not sure if it is the guy that Regina and Cora killed (when was that btw?) but that face…I know it.
It was in 512. Regina killed him in flashback when he tried to demand something from her in return for saying where Snowing was, Cora killed him in the underworld when she was showing Regina what would happen to Henry Sr if she didn’t leave.
Just looked at the press releases for 512 and 513, it doesn’t appear to be the same guy so I looked the bandit guy up on IMDB. He’s been in a few TV series: Intelligence, The 100, Rush, Supernatural, The flash, Lucifer. He’s been in a lot more in bit parts.

ParticipantYou’re right. I wonder if there is a CGI snake missing from the Bae photos then.

ParticipantI wonder if it could be Snow and Charming that might die. The whole apartment waiting for them seemed kind of creepy and foreshadowing and they’d probably sacrifice themselves so that Emma could get her “happy ending with Hook” whilst conveniently forgetting they have a second child.

ParticipantFrom the looks of it, young Bae is out catching butterflies when he notices something on the ground. He bends down to investigate and touches whatever it is he saw in the way that kids like to poke things that they’re curious about. Whatever he pokes poisons him or he has an allergic reaction to it and that’s what Rumple and Milah go to the healer about.
Actually it would be interesting if it was an allergic reaction because obviously in the EF they wouldn’t have the medicine or necessarily the knowledge that Bae’s symptoms are caused by an allergy.

Hades- The actor does a great job. The blue fire effect of Hades disappearing was good and is preferable to the fire hair.
Cruella- It’s always good to have Cruella back, she was the highlight of 4B. Her plan makes sense and I could see why Henry would buy into it, it certainly pushes his buttons of wanting to be a hero and save someone.
Hercules- The character was adorable for a oneshot that we’ll never see again to the point that you did kind of feel sorry for him that we’ll never see him again. The actor did a decent job with what he had.
Less Hook- It has been so refreshing not to have Hook be in every scene or having the show revolve around him. Obviously “Find Hook” is the groups main aim but this season so far has been better than the whole of season 4 and 5A put together, which coincidentally is when the show became CS heavy, and I think a big part of that has been because Hook’s not been dominating screentime at every opportunity.
Snow going by Snow not Mary-Margaret- I never got why Snow kept using MM instead of Snow especially Charming using it but apparently Snow chose to go by that name. Hopefully now that she’s going by Snow again, it means she might get back some of the fire she had in season 1.
Mixed
The Snow/Hercules friendship- It was cute enough but not enough to buy it. Snow never mentioned this guy ever before so it was hard to take it as a deep and meaningful friendship. Adult Snow/Hercules was more believable.
“Can you keep a secret?”- It as funny in that for the audience the go to answer is no and even young Snow paused before saying yes. Snow should come with a warning sign “If you tell this woman a secret, somebody will die!”
The pen being alive- I get what they were going for with it but to kind of group it in with the people souls of having unfinished business is a bit much.
Disliked
Hook and Megara stop running for Hook to tell her that he will distract Cerberus- Just run and maybe split off into different direction so at least one of you is guaranteed to get away. Don’t stand around saying how you will distract the creature, doing that means it is already almost upon you.
Young Snow running off into the forest- So a princess who would most likely be considered a valuable bounty is just allowed to run off alone into the woods in a white dress that makes her stand out like a sore thumb? Seriously, shouldn’t there be guards watching her to make sure she’s safe. Also when she knocks all the arrows onto the floor, why the hell does she waste time trying to pick them all up? Just grab a couple and fire them!
Cerberus broke through the wall of the apartment with no problem yet struggled to get through the wall of the library enough for Snow to rally the troops- plot device is plot devicey.
The characterisation of Meg- It was disappointing that she wasn’t more like her Disney self. They even set up one of Disney Meg’s lines “Megara. My friends call me Meg…..at least they would if I had any friends”.
No Rumple- Where the hell is Rumple and what’s he doing?
Overall, whilst it wasn’t as good as 512, it was still better than the whole of 5A.
Question: Is the guy playing the head bandit the same actor from last episode who played the guy that Regina and Cora killed?
