I firmly believed that Rumple and Belle needed to take things slowly after everything that’s changed in their relationship. Belle’s declaration, however, felt very OOC to me, and I’m rather convinced that someone was doing shenanigans with her (Hook didn’t get his actual revenge, so he just MIGHT have despite the fact that his goal was just to get Rumple’s blood.)

    Quote

Well it wouldn’t be the first time, or even the second time, that Hook has hurt Belle to try and get back at Rumple.

They could easily have given Belle her normal screen time and we’d still never see her. No need to break Rumbelle up for Emilie’s pregnancy

We also have to take into consideration that EdR is pregnant and that unlike Snow/Ginny back in S3, the writers will have no problem writing Belle/EdR out of the narrative for a bit while she’s carrying a baby. This was their way of not having to answer “where’s Belle?” questions every week in S5B.

If the writers have done this because Emilie is pregnant then that is really unfair to Emilie. Ginny is pregnant again so unless they plan to write Snow out too, then why can’t they have Emilie on the show whilst she’s pregnant? Isn’t there some law to protect pregnant women in the workplace so that they don’t get forced out of their job?

There are ways Emilie’s pregnancy can be written into the narrative:

    1. Whilst taking some time apart from Rumple, Belle discovers she pregnant with his child.
    2. Belle becomes a surrogate for some friends who want a child but can’t have one, and there is no adoption places in Storybrooke. (Bonus points if they’re LGBT)
    3. I dislike this one but Belle discovers she’s pregnant with Will’s child.

In 4B the writers were even dropping hints about Belle potentially becoming a mother. In the AU, Belle was baby Neal’s mother. When Belle was looking after baby Neal in Storybrooke, Charming called her a “natural” and in the deleted scene Charming basically all but asked Belle if there was going to be a RumBelle baby.

For the writers to suddenly say to Emilie “you’re pregnant so we’re going to write you out of the show until after you’ve had the kid but we’ll still let Ginny take part even though she’s in the exact same situation as you” is wrong.

Reducing Emilie’s filming schedule, ensuring she stays in the warm and/or have her sit down and stand behind things if the pregnancy isn’t being written in is one thing, but to expel her from the show just because she’s pregnant is quite another.

Here’s a question. If Milah and Nealfire magically came back to life as their human selves, do you think CaptainSwan would stick together (as it currently stands) or do you think they would split and reunite with their respective first loves since the relationships ended through death rather than relationship breakdown where neither wanted to see the other again?

I was excited to get to explore that, because we talked about Hook’s father and he was cagey about it, so we get to see what happened in that backstory. It is linked with Regina, which is about all I can really say about it. It’s a fascinating insight into who Hook was back when he was Captain Hook, but not Killian Jones, if you know what I mean.

I…am confused. Presumably, Hook’s father left him (and Liam) when he was a boy. That’s what he told Baelfire. It’s possible he was lying, but we had no reason to believe that. Hook was born “centuries” ago, which means he’s at least a century older than Regina (I have his birth in 1822 right now, hers in 1937) and, according my calculations, goes to Neverland in 1862 after Liam’s death in 1848. So how in the world is anything to do with his father linked to Regina?

    Quote

Maybe Hook is related to Regina in some way? Maybe Hook’s father had another kid with another woman who wasn’t Killian and Liam’s mother, which would turn out to be Regina’s ancestor either through Cora or Henry Sr meaning the kid would be Hook’s half sibling, making Hook Regina’s great great great half-uncle or something?

You’ve got to feel sorry for the actors and actresses who think they’re signing up to be regulars but then get shafted. First Meghan, then MRJ, then the guy who plays Will whose name I can’t remember. He’s probably the one who got shafted most of all. Emilie is a real trooper for sticking with the show all these years despite Belle’s lack of screen time.

Colin looks like he’s enjoying playing DO Hook immensely and DO Hook might actually be more entertaining than whiny Emma Emma Emma Hook.

The Milah mention was interesting for two reasons. 1. It’ actually a nod to continuity, something that has become a rare occurrence on the show nowadays. 2. It actually shows that Hook still isn’t really over Milah. How can Hook truly move on with Emma when he’s still hung up on Milah?

@Watcher There is a long list of things we don’t know and that we’ll never know. The Neverland arc in itself has a long list.

You know what the irony of this Hook as the dark one situation is? If the Hookers try to absolve Hook of his actions as the dark one because “the darkness made him do it” then Rumple should be absolved of his deeds as the dark one too, including his actions against Hook in the past such as killing Milah and cutting off Hook’s hand. If Rumple is to be held accountable for his past dark one actions, then Hook has to be held accountable too!

The Hookers can’t have it both ways, and either way Hook doesn’t come out of it smelling of roses.

Hook is dragging Emma down big time due to the fact that she will be covering up a murder he committed. Season 1 Emma would never have done that.

Also why does Hook murdering Merlin even work to cast the curse. “Heart of the thing you loved most” has always been a requirement to cast the dark curse……unless it isn’t the dark curse, in which case what the hell? The whole premise of the dark curse in the first place was that Rumple needed it to get to the Land without magic to find Baelfire because there was literally no other way to get there even though Rumple looked. Suddenly all these other methods are appearing that could’ve worked.

We’ve seen 3 dark curses cast and all required “heart of the thing you love most”:

Regina and Henry Sr- Familial love

    Pan and Felix- Platonic love

    Snowing- Romantic love

There is no way Merlin’s heart should work for Hook because there is no love there AT ALL. They’re not romantic, family or friends. If the writers expect us to just believe that Hook and Merlin became bosom buddies in the two days they knew each other, and that Hook “loves” Merlin more than Emma despite Hook’s entire storyline being about his “love” for Emma, then the writers are showing a severe lack of respect to their audience and more importantly the fans who have stuck with the show since day 1. Not only that but it completely throws the validity of CS into question, not that it wasn’t in question anyway.
