Belle gets a line! Belle gets a line! She might actually appear!

What’s the odds that will be all Belle gets though?

We haven’t seen child/early teen Regina yet. It would make my day to see this at some point in 5B. It would be cool if she met teen Robin, too. (Yes, I know I’m dreaming and I am taking things too far).

Actually, teen Regina meeting a teen Robin but neither realising who the other was is a good idea. Obviously it would be pre-Daniel and pre-Marian, but it would at east give a slight reason for why Regina and Robin were deemed “soulmates” instead of how it currently stands where Robin and Regina are “soulmates” despite never having met each other before.

Hook kills Merlin to cast the curse Yet another POC bites the dust.Though how that actually worked is another question since “heart of the thing you loved most” used to be a requirement.

How did this happen guys? How did a show we used to love in it’s early seasons….become a mere shadow of it’s former glory self. It’s amazing to go back to the Seasons 1-3 Threads and see all the excitement we used to have, and then venture into Seasons 4-5 to see it’s downfall.

Well Nealfire was still alive in season 1-3…..

I think the main problem is that, in seasons 1-3 the writers were actually using character driven plots, from season 4 onwards, they’ve been using plot driven characters. The early seasons showed us the “real” stories behind the characters we know and love including the Disney ones eg Snow, Belle, Grumpy, Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, etc. Season 4 (FROZEN ALL THE THINGS!) took the Disney characters and just plonked them in the show with the assumption that the audience had seen the movie so they could skimp on backstory.

Basically the show has now become about style over substance. RumBelle is the only thing that has remained strong since season 1 but even that has been put through the wringer and barely gets screentime.

Snowing- Complete shadows of their former selves. Snow has suffered worse than Charming in terms of character assassination.

Family relationships- completely brushed aside and ignored in favour of romantic ships.

The small town feel- Ignored completely. Cameos of characters such as Whale, Archie, Granny are a rarity.

Everything has been screwed over in favour of CS.

    Finally watched this episode.

Why did they use the young Snow on the runaway horse opening card when it had nothing to do with the episode?

Merida’s mom does not look old enough to be Merida’s mom.

It was nice to see Ruby and Mulan again but it did feel like there had been character assassination especially with Ruby. MulanRouge is almost certainly the LGBT couple.

The scene between Merida and her father was nice. Will the magical ale come back into play? They could always use it to talk to Neal if they could get MRJ back but most likely it will be used for other means.

    This episode was completely filler.

But one thing I wonder with the impossible Girl, was she always died. In every existence incarnation of her day she died.

That is a good point. It was a very fitting end for Clara, I just hope it sticks this time.

The Neal/Emma relationship would make 5A so much better than it is. Not only do you have a solid foundation, but you also get the bonus that Neal saw what the darkness did to his father so he’d do his utmost in trying to prevent the same thing happening to Henry.

Speaking of Henry, nobody seems to care about how Emma being the dark one affects Henry, it’s all about Hook and his man pain.

    Clara is dead!

This was a pretty decent episode, probably my favourite of the Capaldi run so far, and it was a very fitting end for the character. Basically, Clara’s increasing recklessness got her killed. We’ve seen how those around Clara, including the Doctor, have been showing concern over her behaviour since Danny Pink’s death and it feels like a natural conclusion that eventually Clara’s luck would run out. Clara namechecked Danny which felt like the writers were trying to soften her death with an implied “she and Danny will be reunited in death”, however, I never bought into the Clara/Danny relationship as a deep meaningful thing. They certainly weren’t an Amy and Rory level of deep. There was no “together or not at all” moment for Clara and Danny.

This episode was the first part in a two/three parter story which will inevitably lead us into the Christmas special, probably where we will meet the new companion. The one bit of the episode I didn’t like is how the Doctor was threatening to reign Hell down on what is essentially an alien refugee camp if Ashildr didn’t stop Clara’s death. Whilst I get that the Doctor grows fond of his companions, he’s lost companions before so what makes Clara so special that the doctor would be willing to harm innocents because of her?

I never liked Clara, so her death doesn’t upset me, especially when it was caused by her own stupid recklessness. However, I think any “sadness” over her death is diminished when the writers start pushing Clara as an almost “mary-sue” character who is supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Trying to force Clara as a likeable character onto the audience only makes her more unlikeable.

I’m interested to see how the show does now that Clara is gone as, IMO, she’s been dragging it down slowly ever since her first modern day appearance.

The easy guess was Mulan (Jamie Chung), who recently returned a nearly unrecognizable character after having her heart broken because Aurora (Sarah Bolger), whom she harbors feelings for, had a baby with Prince Phillip (Julian Morris).

This almost makes it sound like it’s Aurora’s and Phillip’s fault for Mulan’s current state because Aurora had a baby with her true love and was completely unaware how Mulan felt about her.

“Our goal is to make it as we see it in the real world, just as normal and as a part of every day life as it should be.”

Whilst I like this idea on the portrayal of the LGBT relationship, ie. not a signposted “HERE COME THE GAYS!” episode, I don’t have faith in A&E that they would do such a relationship justice. I think they may have a kiss between two people of the same gender happen in the background of a scene that is literally blink and you miss it and they’ll call it quits there.

I wonder if they are going to have Bailee play actual teenage Snow or whether they are going to still make her play child Snow.

I think it might be Regina in Storybrooke, possibly after the revelation that Hook is now a dark one. Either that or she breaks up the fight between Hook and Rumple.
