Participantplz no straight Elsa
she has such a huge queer following that it would be a slap in the face. and it’s kinda bad enough we’re getting even more white characters when OUAT already has a race problem :/
I mean if they were smart they could try getting Inuit actors. In the original tale some of the characters would have been Saami/”Laplanders” though I don’t know how available Saami actors would be and most modern Saami are much more mixed, so I guess it’d be the next best thing.
I dunno just in general I don’t have a good feeling about this. I think OUAT has a lot of issues and holes that need fixing and they should have used S4 to plug them. It looks like Elsa won’t be in it too long, but still, if they’re bringing in the frozen cast, how much more in the way of new characters can we take?

Participantkeep in mind I’m used to British Soap Operas which are probably a little bit better.

ParticipantI don’t like that this is basically becoming “The Couples Show” though. Like OUAT has always been true love and stuff but it was never this sappy… remembering when Snowing were actually cool?
It does of course make the lack of queer ships all the more painful but just in general… true love, yes, but sappy, often quite rushed/force romance, regardless of who it’s between(there was a time when I would have shipped CaptainSwan)? No.
I want to see more of a return to form for the show in a sense and I don’t mean Emma/Regina fighting. I want there to be this sense of adventure and wonder and cool stuff happening instead of all family dramas and how are we going to end up with these two people together like some third rate soap opera.
It’s not that I even disliked Season 3, and the finale was MOSTLY pretty epic(I loved the Buddy movie elements between Hook & Emma – wish they’d have left it at that, for now anyway), but…
I don’t know. I’m really uncertain as to where they’ll go with Season 4. I feel the soap opera elements might to make the show more “Sustainable” long term but I think then it’ll start to lose ratings.
This is why I liked OUAT in Wonderland so much, even if it was a bit sappy it was still fresh and I rooted for Ana/Will way harder than any of the ships in OUAT Prime, maybe even including Swanqueen.

ParticipantShe’s been gone for like not even a whole season to be fair. They can easily figure out a way.
Thank you for using RedItGo, lol. It could be a great way to make Ruby relevant again.

ParticipantAlso Snow killed Cora – how is that “sweetness and light”?
Also to be fair, she IS Snow White, and they already went so far as to make her a bandit, which at least makes her more interesting.

ParticipantAs far as the movie Elsa goes, I’ve never really seen anything to make me believe she was a lesbian. I just know ALOT of people believe it to be so, so thats why I wouldn’t be surprised if they made her such. It wouldn’t bother me for the simple fact that she has no mate in the film as far as we know and it really wont contradict anything.
Sudden thought: Guys, do you think OUAT is gonna get major backlash from this? I mean, making a character LGBT is one thing but this is the NEWEST most POPULAR Disney film at the moment. I’m sure a lot of people who have never even heard of OUAT will be tuning in next season because they are fans of frozen, children included. Do you think OUAT will get some negative feedback for turning Elsa into a lesbian (if they choose to do so?). That might be kinda of scary…Don’t forget Frozen hasn’t been out on DVD long. The storm will die down(lel) a bit by the time OUAT comes back – which is why they needed to get Elsa in now, to draw people in. If they had done it NOW rather than reveal it at the start of the next season, it’d be harder to get away with. But 4 months from now? Maybe even 8-9 months from now depending on when they reveal it? Maybe not so much. We’ll have gotten a bunch of other movies since then(Maleficent being one) that people will obsess over and let’s not forget a bit part of Frozen’s popularity is the queer fanbase in the first place.

ParticipantBut Snow? Idk. I’m not seeing she would be of the “burning crosses on your lawn and hanging people” sort but I can definitely see het just making a little side comment about it like “Oh…. Elsa is a lesbian? Well that’s….hmmm. >_>” and then someone would call her out on it.
And I don’t see that at all. This is a woman who loves with her whole heart and believes in love above all else. Snow is the woman who offered Regina chance after chance because deep down, they love each other and love trumps everything. I think the only reason why people are suspicious of Snow’s standing on LGBT relationships is because S3B took Snow and made her into a simpleton. Someone who couldn’t see anything beyond the end of her nose. Snow of season 1–the bandit, the live off the land, the fight for love and freedom girl–would NEVER question LGBT relationships.
While I agree you wouldn’t get it from Snow’s character, I also agree that it being unexpected makes a point that you can’t assume that much of people.
But since Snow is almost like a symbol of love and justice(SAAAAILOR MOOOOON) it wouldn’t make sense for them to question it.
Though that said, even Sailor Moon was a bit weird about the Lesbians… and then they had a series of episodes where the girls found themselves falling in love with Haruka. Maybe they could do that in SB – Wow, a real life fairy tale lesbian? That’s kinda weird. But omg hot.

ParticipantElsa is like the least surprising Lesbian ever tho, she totally has that femdyke vibe going on. There’s something about her that just looks really queer, I guess it’s partly that i’ve seen a lot of lesbians with like really bleached hair, and sometimes in a side braid. Characters that look like Elsa in other things usually have something going on with their sexuality. I can’t imagine anyone being surprised at Elsa being just a little bit queer.
Lana almost has a similar vibe, while as far as we know she’s straight, would anyone be surprised if she was Bi? Probably not.
