I’m suspecting that A&E have been using 9-10 months and a year pretty synonymously, to be honest.
Hi Keb
And again, you are absolutely correct! But not knowing why, can drive someone stark raving mad! Simply put, it’s more like 8 months because that’s how long, on average, each season is. Unless the storyline has completely stalled out the Timeline, which has happened in the past, Adam & Eddy are slave to a time structure they have chosen to use, since the pilot, to allow Henry to age naturally on the show, and to keep from happening to Henry, what had happened to Walt, on LOST. I’m sending you a PM. I think your ah-ha moment awaits you.

Looking for Keb. Last post on this thread was over a year ago. Is Keb still active in Timeline? Would like to share something with her about Timeline on Once Upon A Time…. Thanks

puzzledParticipantThis is dedicated to @Hjbau: The post that Nonnie was speaking of, that no longer exists, due to hackers and what they eventually did to that forum, and was titled: “Horrowitz & Kitsis Time Table Cracked” and went something like this:
Back in season one I had discovered why Emma’s 28th birthday was so important. They (the writers) Hammered us on Emma’s 28th birthday and I wanted to know why. While dabbling around one day on the computer, I looked up Emma’s birthday, back in 1983. October 23rd, 1983 to be exact. It also fell on Sunday, October 23rd, the same as the pilot airing. At that time we were in 2011. So instantly I noticed that the calendars were identical AND 28 years apart! So I searched ahead 28 years from 2011 and found that our calendar system repeats naturally every 28 years!, as I found Emma’s birthday, again, on Sunday, October 23rd, 2039. Check for yourselves, I didn’t know that and that’s how I found out, (the hard way, as usual).
Once I thought about it for a while, it came to me that: “Wouldn’t it be genius if I could exist in multiple realms at the same time, but in different eras, or years?” Then Bam!, that was it!…. They’re using our repeating calendar system to track time on the show! What?, Huh?, How!?
Simple!… every 28 years, the same calendar comes around with a new year attached to it! Basically giving you another possible realm to exist in, simultaneously, without having to time travel. 1983, 2011, and 2039 all share identical calendars. I’ve proven that already! But don’t take my word for it, go and check it out yourselves! If this is true, then I can go back in time, 28 years at a time, and find the exact same calendar again! and so on and so on. This is why Emma’s 28th birthday. They (the writers) were not only waiting for Emma to come to Storybrooke but were also waiting for the calendars to synchronize. 1983 to 2011. In our case, Our World Without Magic and Storybrooke…..
The two realms would exist simultaneously in two different years, but tied to the exact calendar system. This would allow Henry and Jared Gilmore to age naturally on the show, because both realms followed the exact same calendar, starting Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 (the pilot) while at the same time Storybrooke is on the same calendar in 1983. This is why Emma could not have come to Storybrooke any earlier than Sunday, October 23rd, 2011. There was a problem ,however, and I believe most of you got played as bad as I did, by the masters themselves.
Adam & Eddy used Henry and the clocktower to divert our attention away from the far left of your tv set, while we waited with Henry in joyful hope that Emma would get that clocktower, (that was to the far RIGHT of your screen), moving again. However, as we were fixed upon that clocktower with Henry, those two snuck a full moon right by us,(to the far left of the screen) and nobody noticed!….That was my problem!…You see, If you look at your 2011 calendars there is no full moon on October 23rd. The full moon for October was on Tuesday, the 11th, two weeks before the pilot, AND on a Tuesday!… What gives!?
When you and your partner are going to write a pilot for an ABC series that is so time sensitive, that it takes 9+ years to write and requires that a full moon must appear in the pilot episode for timeline continuity, well, there are only two full moons to choose from, correct?…As we only get one full moon per month and as established writers for that very network, I would assume that Adam & Eddy knew that If they were going to debut a new show in the Fall, that it was going to be in September or October. So the pilot had to be written for the closest full moon to a Sunday as they could get, and since the October full moon was on a Tuesday and September’s was on a Monday (look at your calendars), it would explain why ALL of our Storybrooke timelines were horrobly off and didn’t make any sense. The pilot episode was written for Sunday, September 11th, 2011, but the premiere date that they got from ABC wasn’t until Sunday, October 23rd, Which puts Adam & Eddy behind in storyline by over a month and a half, right out of the gate! It took me over a year to get Adam to answer this question on twitter but he finally did. I asked “Why the change, the pilot clearly points to Sunday, September 11th launch date because of the full moon cycle?” He answered simply:”That when he and Eddy wrote the pilot, that they weren’t even sure that they would premiere at all. We got the 10/23 launch date and we just adjusted for the time discrepancies and hoped nobody would notice”
Well, that’s just “Blasphemy” and I should be impaled and burned at the stake you say?
Just hear me out….and you really need your 2011 calendar to follow.
If you listen to Granny and Ruby’s argument and insert all the new information that I have given you, their argument will reveal the date of the pilot episode, LISTEN and look at your 2011 calendar as you listen. Now remember, Granny & Ruby are Werewolves and are irritable because of the full moon outside. That’s why they are fighting to begin with. Now remember also that this scene takes place on Emma’s second day in Storybrooke. You need to look at Sunday, September 11th, 2011. The full moon is on Monday the 12th, but Wolf’s Time is the three days of the fullmoon. The day before, the day of, and the day after. This is for @44th not telling you, as he thought that the whole moon thing was a stretch! 😉 ha!
Now, Wolf’s Time is three days, that means Sunday, Monday(full moon), and Tuesday. Now, listen to Granny and Ruby’s argument, again:
Granny: “You were out all night, (Sunday, day 1) and you’re going out again!” (Monday, day 2) This only fits September’s full moon.
Ruby:”I should have moved to Boston”
Granny:”I’m sorry that my heart attack ruined your plans to sleep your way down the Eastern Seaboard”October 23rd premiere date that Adam & Eddy got, were what they had to take and hoped no one noticed. But we all did, through screwed up Storybrooke timelines, it took them til 2/12/2012, 1×12 “Skin Deep” to bring us all around again to where the storyline and the timeline matched again. Storybrooke will always be 28 years in the past as we both move through time simultaneously. Them in 1983 and us in 2011. Now as our years change their years change right along with us as we will remain on the same calendars throughout the series….or at leaast that was the plan in the beginning. We’re in 2014 now which puts Storybrooke in 1986. Go ahead see for yourself, their identical still and will remain so.
Although, there is a catch…. Since #OUAT has chosen our current lunar cycle to follow, that means that only the calendars that are on our present lunar cycle that are from the past will match. For instance, all of those scene transitions involving full moons transitioning us from Storybrooke to a scene in FTL/EF are actually clues as to when (the year) that, that scene in FTL/EF is taking place. We already know the month as they are on the same calendar as we are……as all the realms are. You just have to find out which year they’re in. But the clues are there.
Proof!, you ask for? I’ve already given you proof….. Our Land Without Magic and Storybrooke! Valentine’s day falling on exactly the same day in our world as in Storybrooke and in FTL/EF Belle answering Rumple that it’s almost Spring and she needed to let some light into the room. Present day FTL/EF and yes even Neverland, where we discovered, through Regina, that five days of camping with the Charmings was equal to five days in Storybrooke, which is equal to five days in our world as well. Time runs through Neverland, it just appears that nobody ages there.
And last but not least, Emma and Henry sharing birthdays. It was a simple math problem in the pilot. There is only one way that Henry could be 10 years old on Emma’s 28th birthday. And that is if she had him ON her 18th birthday. One day later and Henry is still 9 on her 28th….One day earlier and Emma is giving birth at 17 which would make her birthday the 22nd and not the 23rd! We already know that her birthday is the 23rd NOT the 22nd. It also explains why Henry is or was a 10 year old in 4th grade, because his birthday is the same as Emma’s which is October 23, which is after the school year starts, so Regina held him back a year as they do with all kids who’s birthdays are AFTER the school year begins. Because they’re not 5 yet, but will be 5 that year in October, or November,or December. All kids who have their birthdays in those months experience that. Those kids are always the oldest in their class, like Henry. But to start your kid in school, that kid had to be 5 already. That means that Regina didn’t enroll Henry in school til he was 5, but then turned 6 when October 23rd rolled around. This is why a 10 year old was in Mary Margret’s 4th grade class. Emma didn’t lie, nor did she round up or down and niether did Henry. It was simply because Emma gave birth to Henry, on her birthday, which happened to be on October 23rd, 2001.

Hook: “Somewhere out there is my (SHIP),… All I have to do is go and find (HER).” 😉
puzzledParticipantAnd to add to the Tornados and Balloons of OZ,….I’m sure the Ruby Slippers will make an appearance as realm jumpers at some point,…having been mentioned in the show already.
What an incredible show. The possibilities are endless!…. How does one even consider writing an end to a storyline like this?
puzzledParticipantHave always been fascinated by Jefferson’s Hat. I would think that the Hat is merely a portal, meaning that if you chose to use the Hat, then the Hat came equiped with it’s own looking glass for just that world. Walk through it and you emerge on the inside of Wonderland’s looking glass, which I imagine is always there, but not always an acting portal. When not in use, I imagine its just a looking glass….
Regina used a looking glass in her castle to transport her mother Cora into Wonderland through that same looking glass entrance,… no Hat.
Back to Jefferson’a Hat and a rule of the Hat that Jefferson informs Regina of, that (she somehow already knew about)… “Same number of people in,.. as the number of people out.”
This rule always suggested to me that Jefferson had to work with a partner, when planning to transport someone from their realm to another realm. In order to comply with the Hat’s rule, Jefferson would have to have an extra person with him who was willing to wait for their return, possibly being trapped there for life or until they could find alternate means of portaling back home. Did Jefferson not say he lost his wife because of the Hat?,…I wonder if this could be what he meant?
So for instance, every time Rumple used Jefferson’s Hat for business, both would travel to that realm and Jefferson would simply wait inside near the entrance for Rumple to return. If Rumple returned with a passenger he wished to take back with him, Jefferson would have to wait in that realm for the two to return. Then he could return with Rumple as two in – two out .
But Jefferson traveling alone was much easier and quicker, with less risk as well.
One more thing I noticed about Jefferson’s Hat. It never leaves Fairytale Land unless it, itself is moved to another realm by another means of transport. The Hat was moved to Storybrooke by The Dark Curse. But before that,… the only place you saw Jefferson actually wear the Hat was in Fairytale Land.
puzzledParticipantI second both finds!….. very sharp eyes. I love it. These are the type of Oncers I could talk to all day long…… 😉
puzzledParticipantAt this point I’m sure you’ve all determined what was going on with Emma’s door. But, for those who haven’t heard or read,… @ishirli had it correct when it was stated that the door was already there and they decided to just keep it.
@Phee was also correct when she thought Thesaurus. The writing on Emma’s door is the thesaurus def.’ for “entrance”….One last trivia for this door, or actually, the pic of this door where emma is holding it open with her left hand. Emma’s tattoo is seen at her dinner scene with Ryan (who played “Big Cat”w/long hair on October Road), but it is missing in this scene with Henry as she holds open the door with her left hand exposing her inner wrist.
puzzledParticipantStrange though,.. how would Cora have a likeness of Regina from a day she didn’t even get to attend, as Cora , on that day, went flying through a looking glass. ❓ To wear a locket from the day she pushed me through a mirror to get rid of me,… now that’s a reminder. 😉
