Has anyone thought that an important captain from “The Mysterious Island” from 1874 would make an appearance? Captain Nemo, anyone?
[adrotate group="5"]qbkitsuneParticipantI totally agree with myril and the others. The first chapter is very poorly written and has a lot of inaccuracies that are quite glaring for fans. It would be very unprofessional to release official merchandise that misrepresents or otherwise deviates from the canon, unless it’s something Stan Lee wrote. ***
Even if you try to say that Emma isn’t recalling things correctly, it’s not in the first person for us to assume that it’s her perspective. Furthermore, are we really going to believe that she totally didn’t notice Graham, but noticed the “beautiful” and “immaculately legged” Regina? I’m not saying Regina isn’t stunning. I would be equally amazed at her as well, but to not remember the handsome Sheriff? I’m not even a Graham fan, but this is an epic stretch. In the show, Emma has dialogue at the station with Graham about the previous night, which they now have to skip or alter in the book, and thus begins the eventual snowballing of the various things left out until it builds and suddenly there is a gaping black plot hole.
I’m not sure whose pen name is Odette (Swan Princess) [Magical] Bean, but I certainly won’t be purchasing a very cheap knock-off of the wonderfully written and acted out story I love.
*** In case you don’t read comics, my statement is criticizing Marvel. Stan Lee is notorious for writing great comics and completely deviating from his own canon when it comes to merchandizing and films. This is somehow accepted by most fans.
qbkitsuneParticipantMaybe you guys are totally right about him hitching a ride with Tamara, but maybe she is willingly giving him a ride and lied to Neal. Perhaps Hook was in the storage room and she just said he wasn’t. As the promo indicates, she seems to have her own agenda, and maybe it’s not so nice… Everyone wants a reason to hate her, anyway:-P
qbkitsuneParticipantHey everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Keb, I’m quite envious that you lived in Nagasaki because I have never been there. It’s very far from where I live in central Honshu, near Nagoya.
Nonnie, My husband thinks I’m crazy in my ritual of checking websites and watching:-P When the show airs in the States on Sunday night, I am at work on Monday morning. All morning, I wait impatiently for 10-11am, which is when celebritydirtylaundry.com posts their live recap. Of course, knowing what happens still doesn’t ruin it for me, and after work, I rush home, make dinner, get stuff ready for the next day, and then watch the episode on Hulu with my husband. I have to use a VPN server because American Hulu is blocked here (Japanese Hulu doesn’t have the same shows and isn’t very good).
I originally got hooked on the show from Netflix, but they only have season 1. To get my OUaT fix, I tried watching via the ABC site. The lag was so bad, I was going crazy until I found that Hulu posts the episodes at about the same time and has a much better system of streaming.
qbkitsuneParticipantSorry, I started a new thread (which I finally figured out how to delete). This was posted at 5am my time, and many threads since then had been bumped so I missed it.
Well, even if he doesn’t have his ultimate Dark One magical mojo working, obviously you don’t need to be the dark one to use magic, so I think he will still be handy like that. I doubt he will suddenly start aging. Neither Bae nor Hook have sped up in aging, and they are just as ancient. Likewise, everyone in SB should have rapidly aged 28 years… If rapid aging only happens to one character, then that seems highly illogical (suspension of disbelief for the whole series aside).
qbkitsuneParticipantFor those of us outside the US, here is the same clip as posted above:
qbkitsuneParticipantMaybe they aren’t giving sneak peeks like they usually do because they showed the first 10 minutes of the episode at Paleyfest… If we can’t get proper sneak peeks, I would at least like to see that footage, even though people have already posted about what happens. Has anyone seen the footage posted anywhere?

I myself am not hoping for a twist that Rumple is Regina’s real father. This is all way too complicated for the general audience to grasp, not to mention the family tree would become even more messed up.I was thinking that it might be possible that Regina was Rumple’s child but I don’t think she is, at least not after seeing the 10 minute preview yesterday.
I totally agree. I sincerely hope they don’t go in this direction, but I find it highly plausible that rather than Rumpelstiltskin making a deal with Cora to give him her first born like in the original tale, he wants her first born to be his, as in his child. I could see how a 300+ year old man could easily be lonely and want to fill the gaping hole where his family once was, even if it’s a deranged and twisted version of a family that he eventually realizes doesn’t have any meaning for him.
Cora manipulating him on a relationship level could be another reason why he was so quick to flip out on Belle in Skin Deep, yelling about her motives and how nobody could ever really love him. That scene was a little too extreme if his only traumatic relationship was Milah, which was 300+ years prior.
I really hope this is not where they are going with this. The family tree is looking less like a normal tree and heading backwards like a weeping willow with all the branches braided together.
