But at the end of the day, when you combine every part of this fandom and separate the good from the bad…it’d at least come out to 65% Bad Apples & 35% Good Apples, so it’s toxic all around in the OUAT Fandom as a whole
Yeah, the fact is, online OUAT fandom is well known from all fandoms as a very bad one, even TVD fandom that are no angels and are also toxic, they all unite when comes to say OUAt fandom is toxic as hell.
[adrotate group="5"]I also think there is something deeply pathological about the need of some CS fans to prove or validate that there ship not only “won” but that it was somehow always planned since season one (even though it clearly wasn’t)
One example, this weekend after SDCC, on instagram there were some screen shots of Colin saying that CS are TL and besides the usual ouat tags, CS, Jmo and Colin, they actually tag, Michael raymond james, neal cassidy, baelfire and swanfire, what does this says about CS fans? they didnt tag other people, they tag the tags they wanted to prove that they won.
What is it about OUAT that somehow unleashed all the trolls?First : The Showrunners and cast did not put this fandom in its place back when that shipping thing started getting out of hand and actors were getting tons of disrespectful comments and tweets from entitle fans who think they know everything up down right left and in between therefore must express what ever they want when they want no matter how rude or crude.
Second: Hope and Happy Endings and True Love, fantasy blended with reality. And this show became a beacon that if their faves can get a happy ending with that significant other then by darnit they can get this fanatical happy ending as well. (I am guilty of that but for different reasons. Neal’s death hurt me because I wanted to know second chances were a true thing, that despite hardships in the end you can have joy and happiness with family and friends and it would all work out because during that time I was experiencing familial tragedy and hardships that I look to this show for a positive and uplifting message that second chances can occur, that despite suffering in life a happy ending awaited all. And honestly the brutal truth at least for me was that this was not the show to look for those concepts or that message.)
Third: Shipping it got out of hand it took over the show the fandom the writing everything.
This is my take on it. I am probably more wrong than right. But that is just my thoughts on the subject.
Agree, I never saw writers, cast and crew so afraid of the fans like OUAT one, i have to say that there are bad apples in every part of this fandom, i know @WickedRegal will say SQ fans are the biggest bullies, bc of Sean stuff, but i can say this and is not just bc im a MRJ fan, every part of OUAT fandom has reasons to complain about CS fans and is without a doubt that the part of the fandom where there are more bad apples exist and the one that everyone involved in the show has most afraid, is not surprising that Cs stuff are pure fan service, that they are the only ship that is happy.
Is bc of that they don`t tell fans off, i mean the other day SQ fans showed screen shots of CS fans calling Lana names and calling them names, and ADAM answer was :” Screenshots can be faked”, then Cs fans showed screen shots of SQ fans calling names to Cs fans and ADAM answer was:” I will block who says bad things like that, i will not accept that”, so we can see the biased behavior, they are afraid of Cs fans and is telling the fact that JMo sad that she or they could only speak about 2 things, meaning CS and Hook, i find this shocking, besides freedom of speach and if we had the JMo instrutions to be close to Colin, is like the network( bc A&E dont have that power ad Adm even said that the marketing, PR and publicity is teh network job) is doing to JMo and Colin something i dont know i can say here, lets say starts with “P”, this is serious behavior and is not just the 1st time the network does this, i remember that with Revenge on s2 or 3 the creator and show runner was fired or something like that, bc he didnt want the network interferance in teh show, he later came to say that
In the end, i blame everyone for not calling fans out, but i also think that they not callin fans out, comes from instrutions from higher places, meaning the network, since is not hidding anymore that Colin i their poster boy for the show, he actualy is probably ranted over Jmo, Ginny and lana as more important cast members. This is my opinion.
And now i say that we know who is emma fighting on the 1st episode, is probably Aladdin, savior vs savior, so this is like the Dark one , there are several ones, probably at same time, so is like, aladdin was the savior of one Land, Emma of another, in a way Hnery was the savior of NVL, Alice was the savior from wonderland, etc etc
I still say JMo is done with the show and she doesnt like Cs so much, and maybe her way to hide that is exageration on her way she deals with colin when fans are present.
Also, saw this week before comic con, Cs fans asking Adam and ABC not not alowed Jmo and lana take pics together, or close to each other and appears that actually happened, LOL, this show, in the wise words of a friend “Kill it with fire”.
The thing is in the end they are all afraid of disney and need to be on disney good sides, they may not treat their families, but treat to make them not find a new job, that i see happening. Info: Colin was almost quiting acting bf OUAT, bc he could not get any acting job in US.
Then there are actors like JMo who take it to another level to promote their own personal celebrity by seeking and playing to her fans’ desires by flirting with her attractive, albeit married, male co-star.
Like i said before is not so much the story of the show that upsets me, is more the way they all act and when somehow a network can or cant say who u talk in public, or how u act in public, says a lot about the people true nature.
Reason, why as MRJ fan, it upsets me to hear him, say that he is soul sick, tired all these work( probably that didnt had the sucess they were supposed), seeing him being bullied by ouat fandom, even tho he is not there anymore, they go to his projects to talk bad about him, to know that he is most likely making a pause of some months until he finds a new job that makes him happy and either way, being a new show or movie the latest in 2 years he is back, while this show that has no storyline, and has bad people behind gets credit, gets renew and at this point i even see a S7 in the future.
But how is it that Bobby can not even show up at some PR events without consequences? Same with Ginny. Doesn’t that show that these guys have at least some autonomy in how they present themselves? I’m genuinely confused.
like i said, Ginny and Booby have more imposing importance in hollywood area, they are the types of actors that can chose what they will do next, Jmo has the same importance than ginny, but she is the lead, would look bad if she didnt went, they know that Giiny and Robbert dont hide the fact that they hate CS so they cant have them there, i guess they can use excuses and abc prefers like that,also has a lot to do with contracts, that only important actors can get, while the minor names of the cast, cant say no, they are also being paied to do cons, so the more cons u go the more money u get.
In fact yesterday JMO skiped the media round room, she didnt went there, which involves more deep questions about the show, that she may not want to answer, and with @RG words, guess that the quote of JMo saying they had a list of things they could not talk about and only 2 things they could talk, seems to have been real. another thing about JMO, she only reads her lines and doesnt see the show, so she never knows what happens to other characters outside her and how the show end result goes, reason why sometimes she says something and the show tells another.Yeah, it’s inappropriate, though sadly common in media. I wonder what would happen if actors just flat out said ‘no’? I mean, I’m sure there’s pressure, but nobody can force them, right? Actors can refuse on the basis that they need some control over their image as they’re the face for the show and hence targets for hate.
You see in these types of things, there are always ABc people with them, the so called PR people, the persons that according to adam make the marketing and publicity of the show, they are the bosses, so if they say, u have to pretend u are really hook and emma, there is no Jmo or colin, they cant say no.
In the end is all about marketing, the show now on ABc eyes is Hook and Cs show, i mean Colin seating next to the show runners show that, Colin teasing how hook already died 4 times and always comeback, heck was Evil queen arc and they pass more time talking about hook dolls, hook and charming bro romance, CS tl, cs wedding dress, more hook stories, i said it here, but there is a show runner that said some year ago, ” If your story is about somethigng, but the network pr make it about another thing, your story will be adapted to the network marketing, bc wont be the publicity and pr changing, will be the story”, this so fits on ouat, the story was about SF, but ABc made it about CS, which made the story change to CS.
MRJ answer to Comic con, is a sort of “IM FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”, better if Sean was there, but was a good videos.
