Just random hugs for all of you. I just had surgery on my back and I’m feeling much better and might get some timeline work done now that I have to rest and heal.

Neal’s death should’ve been treated as a major event in the show’s mythology, especially as “Finding Baelfire” was a major part of Season 1 and half of Season 2 and the aftermath continuing through the other half of season 2 and 3A. A lot of characters’ actions could be attributed to the fallout of Neal’s death: Rumple’s slip back into darkness- Rumple falling back onto what’s familiar and also having a crisis that no good deed goes unpunished, Emma jumping into a relationship with Hook- She doesn’t want to confront her pain over the true loss of Neal, Henry focussing on getting Regina’s happy ending- he doesn’t want another parent to die without a happy ending. Instead: Rumple’s backslide is all about power, Emma’s relationship with Hook is all about “twue wuv”, Henry’s focus on Regina’s happy ending is because he doesn’t give a damn. The complicated, nuanced, LAYERED characters we had in season 1 and 2 are now gone in favour of Plot! Shiny! New Villain! Ship! Rinse and Repeat!

I could accept and continue to watch this show if Neal death was truly story plan and a very bold move for the series. However there is nothing really BOLD about, I mean Neal was pretty much missing then shows up for an episode, then dies by the end, they have a funeral. Then everyone is skipping along merrily on their way like nothing ever happen. If this was a bold move why was Neal and Baelfire story short change. Why are the characters are tip toeing around Neal/Baelfire name so cautiously. Why does Robin act like he has no idea who Neal is? Why does neither Emma nor Henry are remembering Neal. Why is Henry not even talking about his anger sorrow or bitterness about losing his father and how it much it sucks and its not fair. It literally like Neal existed and then he didn’t. Now I know they name drop Neal/Bae/Gold’s son here and there but its doesn’t seem organic.
I recalled when the writers said that the love triangle would end by the end of season 3. And we all said think goodness. Of course we had no idea that they were going to kill Neal to make the love triangle end. Neal died to end the love triangle and side bonus was they could use it make Rumple evil yet never refer to Neal as being the reason of him going dark. It was all because Zelena power over him, who is back from the dead now paving the way for OQ?
Basically Neal died, CS immediately happen and Rumple went evil that is the extent of it. The End.
But it is what it is. I’ve accepted it. So I didn’t get the story I was promise in Season 1. I will survive it.

You know I have only three otps, Deanna/Will Riker (Star Trek:TNG), BatCat (DC universe), and Storm/Wolverine (DC Universe) those three have lasted for two decades. I simply love those pairings all of which has happen in some shape or form. I waited for Storm/Wolverine the longest tho. hahahha

In all honesty there are times I feel bad for the writers, cast, and crew this some in this fandom can be insufferable at times. I’m no saint but at least I keep my crazy contained.
