Okay, we would have thought/hoped that we didn’t have to make this sort of post, but following some of the asks we received last night and some of the following discussion on those asks, this needs to be said.
This is a pro-Neal Cassidy blog. We created it because we both wanted a space where we could positively discuss Neal and his role in various storylines. This blog is supposed to be a space for Neal fans to express why they love this character.
We’re happy to discuss Neal. We’re happy to discuss canon events, and we’re happy to talk about our point of view. We’re happy to have rational discussions about why we love this character. What we will not be doing is answering hate.
We’re a pro-Neal blog; we love this character, and you’re not going to convince us otherwise—obviously, we’ve heard pretty much every argument against him at this point and drew our own conclusions based on our own viewings of the show and canonical evidence, so sending us those same arguments in a discrediting, confrontational anon ask or replying to our discussions in hateful ways is really, really not going to change our minds. And if you’re seeking out a neal blog and taking the time to debate just how much you hate him? I highly doubt we’re going to change yours. It’s a waste of our time and yours, off-topic, and quite frankly, inappropriate and irrelevant to the original purpose of this blog, and the specific discussion in question last night.
There are plenty of places on the Internet to vent your feelings about this show, whatever they may be. You are more than capable of using specific tags, your personal blogs, whatever, to discuss how much you hate him if absolutely feel the need to spend your time that way. I’m sure there are many people who are more than willing to debate it with you. But this is not the place. This is a space for Neal fans to celebrate a character they love, and we’d like to keep it a positive space. http://nealcassidyissoimportant.tumblr.com/

“This blog is awesome. You know, I didn’t start out as a Neal fan. But the more I learned about him and saw all the cool things he did and how remorseful he was of his mistakes… I really like the guy. He’s real. And it makes me so upset that he’s gone now. I’m really hoping for numerous flashbacks of him, as Bae and Neal. I find him more intriguing then Emma… I feel awful saying that, but I don’t have the emotional attachment with her that I do with Nealfire. Need more flashbacks of her too.”
This is so, so lovely to hear. Neal’s a really complex character, and one of the coolest things about him, in my opinion, is that the show actually did take the time to explore his flaws and have him grow through them— and of course, we really, really miss him as well! <3

This is going to be a rant
THIS IS THE SCENE YOU CHOOSE TO CUT?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW. OH NO, LET’S HAVE TONS OF TIME SPENT ON HOOK’S MAN PAIN OVER LOOSING THE BOY HE SOLD TO A SOCIOPATH, BUT HEAVEN FORBID WE GET HENRY TRYING TO DEAL WITH THE LOSS OF HIS FATHER OR EMMA DEALING WITH LOOSING THE MAN SHE LOVES. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME.
What baffles me even further is that they KNOW that this is what the audience wants to see after losing Neal. Just a moment between Emma and her son, Neal’s son. Dealing with the loss. It’s beautiful. Emma telling Henry about the swan pendant. This kind of thing just… this is why I keep watching hoping against hope that one day they will show me this. THIS. A true honest character moment. Aknowledgement. Anything at all that shows me they still know what a good show is made of. I mean I have zero ideas on which kind of thought process would lead to cutting this scene. I. Just. Don’t. Get it. *sits here stunned into submission some more*
le-sigh.
I assuming that it doesn’t just quite fit in with Emma and Henry mourning the lost of friend, love, & father. Me wonders how many other Neal scenes, lines, ideas got scrapped in light of what is “cool-big-and-bold”
All that said and done, That was a very touching and sweet scene.

still sadden there was no MRJ/Nealfire tribute or farewell on the OUAT 3 dvd. Remember when we got this little diddy for this very unimportant plot point.

In other news saw a little bit of Doctor Who Christmas Carol, and I like must watch it all! Still need to get through 9th and 10th doctor though before 12th doctor??

So as you all (should) know, I’m a truebie, and my ultimate OTP was broken up in S4 when little Ms. Redhead vampire, Jessica, decided to wipe her man’s (Hoyt’s) memory because she couldn’t be in a committed relationship and wanted him to have someone who deserved him even after all he had given up and done for her *Watcher wipes a tear* :’( well Hoyt went off to Alaska, with no memory of her, his love for her, or his friends, and was gone for 3 seasons and they’d said he wasn’t coming back….until tonight’s episode, Hoyt showed up
I realized that they are SO setting up Hoyt and Jess getting back together! Jessica’s current boyfriend cheated on her with a male witch and Hoyt’s girlfriend is probably gonna cheat on him (this is true blood. Its gonna happen) with his best friend. Why else take away Jess’s lover AND free up Jason (the best friend he doesn’t remember)!!?? I know what you all are thinking: What’s that gotta do with Swanfire? I admit, I am STILL holding hope that A&E are just pulling our chains and that they actually DO have some master plan that they are just waiting to unveil at some point! That they are just waiting to bring back Neal in some real bold storytelling move. I never gave up hope on Jess/Hoyt and waited THREE SEASONS to have my hopes fulfilled! So yeah…. Never give up hope for your OTP’s… Never give up #HopeForSwanFire
