Hello
I have some questions about Stiltskin and the fact that he is known to be a coward/craven :1- He fled during the war. Is that corwardly or braveous ?
Well… In the past, woman without husband had problems to fleed their children.
Children about 14 had to make the war too : without his father, Bae had no chance to survive more than 14.
Every people tell this : they cannot win. The only thing he has to do was to death breavely.
Well, do you think that he was the coward or the most intelligent ?
As for me I think he acts with more intelect than cowardly.More : after he did not left the village, even thought he was despised by all. Is this cowardly or foolish bravery ?
2- He did not try to use his child as leverage with his wife. Is that not courageous, knowing that he went to seek her knowing her reply ? (“He is no one, it’s my husband” – I think it was not the first “love word” she said him before all the others)
[He is surprised when he sees Bae in the tavern and tell him that he had to stay outside)3- He tried to flee with his child just before his 14 – because he found no other means to save him.
A coward would have flee some years ago – more : knowing he has no more his woman at home, thus just his son. Is that not true ?4- He is weak, yes, but it’s physical weakness : and if we take the example of Hook, when this capitaine has the courage to ask the weak-man for a duel, who is the coward ? The weak-man that went on the boat, even knowing he cannot fight ? Or the handsome-strong man that is sure to win ? And what is more, who do not fears to kill the (husband and mainly) father* of the son of the woman he loves and take with him ?
Is this not bravery, trying even when there is no hope?
(*and thus the only person who will take care of her boy)5- To save his children, he has only a “little” thing to do – something that seems impossible to succeed.
But he decides to make it. He use what he has, what he knows, he works together with his son.
The previous “dark one” is a true evil – or a true desesperate soul – as in exchange of the money-gift that makes him a man almost as poor as himself (disguised as a beggar), he offers a curse.
Did the previous dark-one choose Rample, as he can feel his despair ? (For me, the biggest flaw of Rample is to see him only through the eyes of others)
Thus, did Rample has fallen into the same trap that he later tend to his deal-partners ?
Don’t know. But the more important here, speaking about bravery, is that he has the courage to find the dague and the courage to kill the previous dark-one. I would not have this courage.
Even if the previous dark-one could not fight Rample (as he has the dague), take someone’s life is something. And well, why the king did not ask the previous dark-one, instead of helping to enlist childs as soldiers, to win the war ? He could, as it’s the firts thing that Rampling-dark-one makes.
I have the reply : to let us have the pleasure to watch this new great work of R.C.I absolutely agree with you, but I still want to see more about Rumple’s past. I have a theory that he actually had a good hand with a sword because of that fight with Hook, in which he seemed to be good at it. I think that he already had that ‘talent’, however, during the ogre wars, he suffered some accident that made him limb, and he decided to run away, because he saw that he would not survive a battle. It’s just a theory, and I don’t know if it makes sense, but I like it, and “hope never dies”. 🙂

) This is the third nod to that story: first there was Regina saying she had to see about a certain mermaid, then there was the mute maid who served Rumpel, .
Didn’t he kill the maid?
rczParticipantIs that the Blue Fairy?! I swore it was Cora! 😮
December 18, 2012 at 11:12 am in reply to: WHAT OTHER FAIRY TALE CHARACTERS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE … #165361rczParticipantI wanted to see Ariel and Morgana. That would be really nice. 😀 I also though about learning a bit more from Mulan’s past, and of course, the other characters from it.
rczParticipantI don’t know for sure, but I think it may have something to do with Charming’s brother.
rczParticipantI’ve watched all the episodes of season one and of season two until The Queen of Hearts. The only episode I could just watch today, was Dreamy. Curiosity: when/why/what was Belle doing on a pub?
rczParticipantI understand your concern. Personally, I hope that (after lots of fighting, and many episodes) Rumple finally gets to kill Hook.
rczParticipantI just thought about the theory of Gaston’s return, because in the original version (in which he appears) he tries to kill the beast, which I suppose is Rumplestisken. But I know that there aren’t many chances for him to come back…
rczParticipantPersonally I think the betrayer will be the Blue Fairy, and I hope we get to see a sort of magical duel between her and Regina or Rumple. I also think there will be a lot of arguing when Neal meets Emma again, but I believe that maybe, it won’t be in this episode.
rczParticipantI don’t know why, but I have a feeling that Gaston will come back, and that he will team up with Hook, in order to kill Rumple.
