Like Frozen, the show will focus on the relationship between Elsa and Anna, and explore the idea that you never give up on the people you love.Â
Hasn’t “never giving up on the people you love” been a continuing theme on Once?! We have Snowing’s “I will always find you” and Rumbelle’s “I learnt a long time ago that when you find something that’s worth fighting for you never give up”/”I will never stop fighting for him” and Rumple worked 300 years on a way to find Bae.
So nothing terribly new or surprising but Elsa and Anna’s (and perhaps Mommy’s) relationship might be a parallel to Rumbelle’s since Belle will be faced with the question of working through hers and Rumple’s problems or giving up – which they probably won’t.

For those that had been asking, @robertcarlyle_ and @emiliederavin did film a scene together today #OnceUponATime #OUAT #Rumbelle

ready_to_rumbelleParticipantHis relationship with Emma has gotten stronger and I appreciate that Charming doesn’t try to force a family bond on her, but rather lets Emma come to him. Emma is more like Charming than Snow so it’s natural that they bond. ÂI think that his relationship with Emma got stronger BECAUSE he doesn’t try to force it on her. Unlike Snow, he understands that Emma has to let her walls down on her own and can’t push her to do so. Every time he feels that Emma might need support or advice he is there for her but first of all, he’s more subtle than Snow when doing so and secondly, he only offers help when Emma really needs it and doesn’t smother her with attention and well meant but unwanted parental advice.Unfortunately, Charming became a bit of a hen-pecked husband in S2 and S3 and had to take the backseat until 3B when Snow had to slow down a bit due to her pregnancy.ready_to_rumbelleParticipantLast question: Sean feels obligation to Marion but does love Regina. Will be difficult for him. #FairyTalesII #OUAT #OnceUponATime

Interesting… But please not another love triangle!
ready_to_rumbelleParticipant@seamstress Belle is actually not that confident. In Dark Hollow and even in Snow Drift we saw a self-doubting side of her. She didn’t think Rumple needed her in NL and she thought that every time she had tried to be a hero it had backfired (Dark Hollow). And in Snow Drifts Rumple’s dagger is too much responsibility and power for her and only when Rumple lied to/assured her that he trusted her with this task, she kept it. However, I admit that these moments are rare but since Belle’s screen time is not very high, it’s normal that her “flaws” – though that’s not really a flaw – can only be seen shortly and from time to time.
And about Belle seeing Rumple as a noble person: he indirectly told Belle and Bae that he didn’t want to be the kind of man he was before, when they came back from NL and since then Belle had absolutely no reason to doubt him (Mostly because he was dead for a few months and then held captive by a lunatic witch).
Nontheless, I hope that we’ll see a very strong reaction of her when she finds out that he lied to her, killed Zelena and then used her as an alibi. Whether she will be angry at him or doubt her own morals if she won’t be angry that he killed Zelena (that would be nice and come full circle with her dark side shown in Lacey), I don’t know, but in my opinion it’s very important for the recognition of Belle’s character that she doesn’t forgive him after 1 episode and everything is back to normal.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantSince Rumple originally used Snow and Charming’s hair to bottle true love, it’s possible that using charming’s heart was key to bringing magic back to storybrooke. Technically, since they share a heart, Snow wasn’t just crushing Charming’s heart. It was also her heart… in a weird metaphorical way. Their true love brought magic to storybrooke once, so it’s possible their hearts (used as ingredients to the curse) did it the second time.
That is logical and thought out so headcanon: accepted
Yes, that’s a great explanation, though in my opinion things would have been easier for everyone without magic since that was Zelena’s biggest asset… But that is another topic for discussion 🙂
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantI had a similar theory last night. We talked briefly in chat about it and I posted it in the Rumbelle Wedding thread. Here was my post…
Okay, I had a thought. Rumple was so adamant that Belle keep the dagger. If he took it back he could have essentially kept the secret forever, probably, but he was insistent that she keep it. Yes, it gives him an alibi for future misdeeds, but is there another reason? Could the fake dagger have an enchantment or protection spell on it that protects Belle and that was a reason he was so adamant she keep it
That little detail is just nagging me. Yes, he’s still the Dark One and regressing, but could there also be another reason for not taking her up on her offer? When someone hands you a “get out of jail free card” you don’t say, “Oh, no thank you. I’d rather do my time.” You take that card and cash it in.
Just trying to look at it from another angle.
Like I said, I think something else might be up with the fake dagger.
I like that idea, however, he could have at least told Belle the truth, if this was the case and I hope we’ll find out when he played his little trick to switch the dagger with a fake one. Who knows what his real intention was, but as of now, we know two things for sure: 1, he truly loves her and 2, he’s nonetheless a sneaky little b****** who just can’t stop lying and manipulating, if it helps him accomplish his goals. Solving their first marital argument (and there most certainly will be a big one) will probably make a nice little angsty story for Rumbelle in S4.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantBecause Pan was never powerless. The final thing he did before Rumple got him was freezing everyone. He still had all his magic and could use it to hurt people. Zelena’s magic was literally ripped away by Regina when that pendant came off.
The Charmings took what they thought was Pan over the townline to where he couldn’t use magic and planned to shoot him in the head. He would have been powerless then.
That wasn’t their plan. Emma didn’t think that was Pan because she suspected something had happened with Pan and Henry. They went to talk with him, not kill him. Emma had a gun because she’s not an idiot.
I’ve got to agree with PoM on this one, RG. They thought Pan was controlling the shadow from inside the box. Just watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozFUbfl1wKo
And later, Rumple explains that beyond the town line, Pan is powerless to fight back. So, yeah, they planned on killing him… For real world standards it’s of course morally questionable to take the law in your own hands (even without killing someone) but OUAT’s comprehension of a fair trial is non-existing, so in the OUAT universe I don’t see how Rumple’s action with killing Zelena is considered worse than the Charmings’ when they planned on killing Pan. One can argue that Snow when killing Cora and the Charmings when trying to kill Pan and later Rumple when he killed him were acting in self-defense but Rumple murdering Zelena was not and I have to agree with that one. But from an emotional perspective it is understandable since he blames her for his son’s death and she imprisoned and mentally tortured him for about half a year.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantI don’t think they’ll break up. Belle will probably be extremely mad and disappointed (A&E recently said that if you liked her calling out Regina in 3.18, you’ll like what will come in the next episodes). However, my biggest issue with Rumple in this scene was not him lying to Belle but the fact that he did not trust her enough to tell her the truth after all they’ve been through. It was obvious that he was distraught and knew that he will have to face her reaction. It seemed to me, that he’s afraid she’ll leave him (maybe that’s the reason for his speech about her staying with him after everything he’s done).
Anyway, it’s important for the recognition of Belle’s character that she shows some kind of negative reaction towards Rumple’s trick, though I really hope that we won’t have to face another separation.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantIn these pictures Zelena’s necklace is white – like Glinda’s. I hope we’ll find out more about them in this episode, like if Oz’s witches all wear them and if they represent their state of mind/heart…
