They’d just reunited after 30 years.
Exactly. And he was definitely “comforting” her if that’s what you call it today. Sorry, but I can’t imagine anyone wearing that kind of night gown and parading around in it without a robe like Belle did in Croc if one’s significant other hasn’t seen them wearing less…

Her being the focus of the show has its problems due to her acting.
I completely disagree. I think EdR is one of the strongest actresses on the show and it’s a shame she hasn’t been given more material to work with. Sometimes the actors are given terrible lines that they have to do the best they can with. EdR had to change from Lacey to Belle and from Amnesia Belle to Lacey and you could tell the exact moment when Belle stopped and Lacey began and vice versa.
I absolutely agree PoM. You can see all of Belle’s emotions she wants to convey to the audience in her facial expressions and gestures. And it’s similar with GG. I’ve seen her in quite a few movies and she really is a good actress but sometimes when I watch her as Snow/MM I cringe, especially in the second half of season 2.
Whenever EdR or GG have good stories and material to work with, they are amazing and EdR hasn’t had a decent story since Lacey…
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantThat flashback was very unrumbelle-ish. Their relationship seems to be a bit like between two strangers and it was never like that before. And as RG said it must be before Belle asked him about his son in Skin Deep but on the other hand she then didn’t even know if it was Rumple’s clothing or if he had a son so it actually neither fits before the Skin Deep conversation nor after it (as Rumple had sent her to town immediately after it). Honestly, I just think they wanted to give the Rumbelle fans something nice before “killing” Rumple and separating them again.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantI know a lot people had the theory/hope that Rumple would lose his DO powers and after Belle brought him back to life. However, I think that he might have been freed of his curse when he sacrificed himself despite of the missing TLK. After watching that scene again, I remember something from the Disney B&tB movie.
When you watch from 0:35 to 1:00 you can see a certain similarity to this scenes:

So my theory is that Belle’s TLK in Skin Deep was just a first step to breaking the curse and that a change of his character was necessary, too (remember he let her go and the curse was breaking after the kiss but then he got mad…). So after sacrificing himself for Bae and Belle that change had happened.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipant1) I’d give it a B-. Call me overly critical but there were a few things that really annoyed me. I loved the overall story with everyone going to NL and I even like the idea of the new curse but the lack of a plan/strategy how to get back Henry and the slow pace from episode 1 to 6 threw me a bit. All the Charmings did was sit around and complain about life being unfair (yes, I’m looking at you Emma…) and then episode 9 was just completely rushed. Besides, the end was a bit repetitive to season 2’s winter finale when everyone thought they escaped and beat the villain (then Cora, now Pan) but in the end the bad guys still managed to go to SB. Moreover, episode 11 was supposed to tie up lose ends but it was only done partially (just read the thread “unanswered questions” and you know what I mean). Of course “going home” was a very emotional episode but Rumple’s death didn’t really make me cry because I think that he’s actually dead but more because he’s AGAIN separated from Belle.
2) Favorite episode: think lovely thoughts
3) Least: good form and – I’m so sorry to say that because it was actually one of my favorite fairy tales – Ariel
4) Favorite moment: Rumbelle reunion
5) Favorite new character: Peter Pan
6) Biggest OMG moment: Pan being Rumple’s dad and Emma & Henry losing their memories at the end of going home
7) Funniest: some of Regina’s sarcastic comments and Grumpy reminding Granny of some of Ruby’s outfits; saddest: Emma admitting to feeling like an orphan and Belle sitting on the ground crying and why did no one give that poor girl a hug???
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantI can’t believe that there were only 7 days (well actually 1 or 2 in Once’s universe) between these 2 scenes. I’m devastated but also sure that they will see each other again. After all, he’s her TL and she’s his happily ever after.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantBut, like Phee and Kranen have pointed out, they’ve been filming this for like 3 days now. A dream sequence is at most 10-15 of an episode, if that. Our previous dreams have been only about 5mins. In other words, they wouldn’t be filming a dream sequence for days unless the entire “flashback” portion of the show is a dream
Hmmmh… Do you think they’d make a what if episode in Grey’s Anatomy style from Rumple’s perspective? It doesn’t really help with the plot but everything else doesn’t seem to work out. I don’t know.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantGod, please let the deal be: “let’s let Emma choose and not be adolescent teenager falling all over ourselves in an attempt to woo her”
yes please! Watching their triangle scenes in Dark Hollow felt like watching a teen drama show.
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantThese pictures are really confusing. It can’t be a flashback because of grown up Neal and a dream doesn’t seem to work either. Who would dream about a scene with Belle but no Rumple and Neal/Hook but no Emma and Henry it? But on the other hand we’ve seen Hook in NY so it can’t be present FTL unless the NY scenes take place some time before the new curse.
I don’t know, this is all definitely too much for me to form any logical theory…
ready_to_rumbelleParticipantOne case might be missing though: Regina vs. Cora since she kind of was sold to king Leopold by her mother. This marriage seemed to be like a prison sentence for Regina.
And the Regina vs. Belle conviction should only apply to the 28 years of incarceration but not to Lacey. I mean it was an opportunity for Belle to live out her rebellious side which she probably couldn’t do in her teens in FTL 🙂
