I mean… even the Disney fairy tales ARE dark. I remember being scared by the evil queen in Snow White when she’s making her evil potion, and Ursula when she’s that giant with demonic eyes trying to spear Ariel & Eric, and the starving wolves in Beauty & the Beast that almost eat Belle AND her father AND the Beast himself.
But I remember being even MORE traumatized when I read the original Little Mermaid. When she walks it feels like she’s stepping on KNIVES and her voice was taken away by her tongue being CUT OUT and she and her sisters turn to seafoam I think. It’s HORRIBLE. So Disney did sanitize a lot.
But it does seem to be sanatizing them less these days. Did anyone see Cars 2? I heard that one was really terrible and kids were crying watching that one!
So I see why people wouldn’t want to scare their kids with all that but so many kids for centuries have heard these stories, including the parents themselves, so I don’t see why it’s such a big deal…
[adrotate group="5"]riddleravenParticipantHeh heh, so I’m not the only one who cringed when she clipped the stem! xDD
I think Gaston is dead. I don’t see any reason why Rumple would teleport him rather than kill him. But maybe he did spare him, like the Queen spared the kids. However, I like your theory that it was the sword that turned into the rose and not Gaston himself. Or even though it seemed like something was transformed into the rose maybe it wasn’t Gaston or his sword–maybe Rumple just conjured up the rose. Who knows, they didn’t explain.
But I do agree now that Gaston is not the rose and that’s a small relief, even if he is dead.
Thanks!

I don’t think she wore all black until after King Leopold died. She put it on for mourning and knew it suited her best so she continued to wear it. She said that much in a previous episode. Someone mentioned that she’s really like a black widow, emphasis on both of those words.
He may have gotten the lamp in a deal with Regina. She had it after Sydney’s wish and it wasn’t any use to her. But it definitely could’ve still been before… but if it was what wishes would he have made if he had it? I was thinking he might’ve wished for the castle but then I thought maybe that castle was the one he attacked to get the dark one’s dagger?

(But his mock puppy dog hurt expression when the king called him that won me over! hilarious) So actually RumpleBeast works really well O_O
The romantic in me is sad it didn’t work out but the writer in me is REALLY GLAD. Because it’s sooooo better of a story this way. I REALLY want him to come around in the end though. Please, Rumple. Please let her love youuuu.
I was happy that he chased her away rather than hurting her (physically) because he was so violently mad and felt so betrayed that I thought he would for a second! Aw, man. I felt so bad for him in this episode… 🙁
I wish they’d showed us her pain more. I felt her confusion and I could see that she was hurt. But it wasn’t enough. She has to hurt as much as him if they’re in love.

riddleravenParticipantlol. It is awesome that she punched Regina! xD
But honestly my favorites are Snow White/Mary, Regina, and Rumple/Gold. They’re all AWESOME. I will elaborate more later, g2g.
Maybe you should make this thread a poll.

Henry came into the Sheriff’s office and said he figured out who the two kids were. He said they were Hansel and Gretel. So Emma asked does it say anything about their father because she was looking for their father in the real world. And Henry said all it says was that he abandoned them.
Ohhh I missed that somehow! Okay. Good. Then the book really is more limited. This is good to know now.
But I wonder why H&G would be mentioned in the book at all if the author didn’t know what really happened to their dad. I think H&G know that the queen had him and that she separated them, right?

Sometimes we see the camera do a kind of zoom-in towards an illustration in the book. When we (the viewer) see one of those, we can assume it’s a story from the book. The other times, it’s a once before.
Okay, cool.
riddleravenParticipantThats interesting. I guess it’s possible that Mr. Gold could magically block him from realizing who he is.
Did the book really say that about H&G’s father? I dont remember when the book was mentioned in that episode.
At first I assume the once-befores were a visual representation of the stories in the book. Especially in the episode where Mary is reading to coma-James and it’s obvious that it is written like a story and it coincides with what we saw in the once-befores. So that’s what I’ve been going with.
But now I’m not sure. I think the once befores are just flashbacks for us and the book doesnt contain everything that we see.
riddleravenParticipantIdk. You can probably get it from your library. Mine has it.
riddleravenParticipantWell, that’s right. They still have those walk-talkies, don’t they? (At least until Regina takes Henry’s away) I forgot about those. I was just thinking about the fact that Emma has to stay away from Henry for now.
