The thing is it doesn’t feel like a cliff hanger usually feels to me.
I can see where you’re coming from, but “magic is back” worked for me. This opens up a whole bunch of possibilities, and yes, it had me on the edge of my seat. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you 🙁

Most of the original things about this show were basically resolved they just Created a bunch of new ones all over again!
The whole time I was watching the finale, I thought: They’re really trying to make this the direct opposite of Lost. While with Lost, they kept adding new questions to a point where it wasn’t possible to give satisfying answers to everything, the people behind OUAT actually closed a whole chapter and opened a new one.

What’s Henry’s role now? Or Emma’s for that matter? What’s the point of the book now?
Henry will probably in the middle of a war between Emma and Regina – just as Emma announced a few episodes ago. And Henry’s grandparents might want to join Emma, which should be fun.
The book never really had much of a point. Henry believed that the stories in it were true, (almost) everyone else didn’t. But now that it is no longer a fairy tale, but chronicles the previous lifes of everyone in SB, it might prove to be an invaluable source of information for Team Emma.
It was a season finale, not a series finale. They set up the second season with all those loose ends you mentioned.
So what now? Rumpel is a force to be reckoned with. I believe the way he betrayed Emma was just a glimpse of things to come. Regina might not be the villain of the second season at all.
