KeymasterYesterday ABC renewed Scandal for a last season, they had no problem announcing it as that, however with OUAT, not only they gave it 22 epis, like they didn`t anounced it ,at least not yet, as last season, can this be that ABC/Disney may think that they may end getting more seasons than only this one?
This is a very good point. They’re obviously waiting and watching next seasons’s ratings like all of us.

KeymasterThe show has needed a reboot, and maybe it will be horrible but maybe it will recapture what we loved in season 1-3. Couple of things I do know and am happy about.
Is it possible? Yes, of course. But they’ve rebooted the series once before. They hit the giant red reset button (in their words) and it actually didn’t improve the show at all. I’d say it made a right mess of everything we already loved. It’s more than just getting rid of a few characters. This is still A and E and the way they write and think. Getting rid of a few characters doesn’t change those things. So yes, everything is possible, including it all getting better but…probable? Eh. I’m not so sure.

KeymasterIs he aware that literally everything he loves about this show is going to be gone? Like maybe you should break it to him because even I would be like podcast is not worth this crap.
Daniel knows. He and I have had a lot of conversations lately. We’re all committed to it.

KeymasterIs Daniel going to even want to podcast this mess next season? I mean…would anybody want too.
We’re all committed to it. But we are thinking about doing a reformatting because two podcasts a week is getting…well, tiring. Especially with Noddle Baby. Don’t know exactly what it will be, but OncePodcast isn’t going anywhere.

KeymasterWell, guys. At least we have another season of OUAT to keep us all together here at the forums.
I told @danieljlewis that was my happy thought: at least I get one more year of great OUAT and non-OUAT conversations with you guys.

KeymasterPlus these three characters hate each other and they never interact…this just seems pointless.
Oh I totally agree it’s pointless and stupid. But I also know that I’ll be watching, if only because I’ll be curious. That’s sorta my point.

KeymasterI cannot wait to watch the ratings for this trash. Oh my God it will be so entertaining. 0.5 for the premiere calling it.
The thing with reboots is that a lot of people end up tuning in to the first episode (or two) just “to see.” Now, they usually flock elsewhere (look at Sleepy Hollow’s ratings for its final season) but initially people are curious enough to tune in.
So, I’ll say that the opening will get at least a .7, possibly a .8 and go from there.

KeymasterI’m gonna give my very honest opinion:
I think this is a massive mistake. I don’t think it’s going to be the sort of reboot certain fans want, where it fixes the plot holes, the continuity issues, and becomes a family oriented show that focuses on strong women. I think it’s going to be Once Upon a Villain and will continue to meander down the same silly plot threads that we’re already doing. I don’t think they’re going to manage to do anything new because they haven’t done anything new in about 3 years, despite their protestations to the contrary. It’s still run by A and E who have demonstrated that they aren’t bang up show runners. To believe that some sort of reboot is going to fix their writing issues is…nonsensical.
I’m really surprised that we’re getting a full 22 and I’m even more surprised that Bobby signed up for it. I don’t know where this show is going but without the hero side of the family (Charming, Snow and Emma) I’m not sure it’s going anywhere good. We need that balance.
I mean, how exactly do they expect these plots of play out? Regina, Rumple and Hook going off to save the day? Without Emma or Snow or Charming? Really? I don’t really get how that works unless they retool the entire show so that it all takes places in the Wish Realm, and even then that Realm was so nebulous that the novelty wore off right quick.
ABC just wants to keep their money–which I understand because they are a corporation–but really, A and E need to know when to say goodbye.
