KeymasterWatching ABC’s other dramas, Designated Survivor got a 1.0 last night.
Oof. I mean compared to others not bad but this is their one dramatic hit this season.

KeymasterI couldn’t help but think of when @rumplesgirl and I made that observation years ago in this thread
<3 memories

Keymaster2) They wanted a special because it’s still the end of the current narrative and we’re losing notable cast members, regardless of a renewal.
That one.
I guess it’s a retrospective of the series as a whole. Interesting.

KeymasterScrewball’s essay on the dress combined with Emma’s current arc is really well done.
I wonder what this has to do with (as in, is this actors’ other commitments or is this the direction of the show).
We know Bobby was rather busy with Trainspotting 2 but I also suspect he asked to be scaled back. He’s just not that into the show anymore, IMO.

KeymasterI wish the dress had some red in it actually. Yes, I know that’s sorta untraditional but 1) Emma isn’t a traditional princess and 2) the red has always been her superhero/Savior color.
I think my idea dress would be a mix-match of all the dresses Emma’s worn. So…lemme think. The form fitting and length of the Camelot dress, the no-straps of the Pilot dress, some red of the time travel dress, and some lace overlay of Grace Kelly’s dress.

KeymasterOkay… so if not Granny’s then where though?
They could always use the well/woods like Rumbelle. It’s certainly big enough.

KeymasterI prefer the symbolic battles. Fairy tales are morality plays; they have to be about something. Otherwise, the show’s dramatic moments are just glowy hands and intestinal gas pain scowls.
I would prefer it to be both. Emma fighting the Black Fairy is already pretty symbolic given that she’s the Savior and Black is apparently the most evil creature ever.
(also, omgosh the cats LOL)

KeymasterLOL that scene was funny!
–Charming has a point. Granny’s is just a tiny diner at the end of the day and there have been some really unpleasant things to happen there
–Snow is being…Snow (not a criticism!)
–They included Henry!

Keymaster*Black Fairy walks in* “Sorry I’m late” A good parallel to Snowing’s wedding when EQ walked in.
I’m expecting that exact scene, honestly.

KeymasterWhat I don’t really like is the headdress/hair. It looks very Dark Swan, (and also weirdly pointy?)
Turns out the hairpiece (and dress as a whole I guess) is an almost exact replica of the one Grace Kelly wore when she married Prince Ranier of Monaco.
They were called a modern day fairy tale when they got married. (Though with that said, I wish OUAT had modernized the “modern day fairy tale” dress and not stuck to the 1960 interpretation of what that meant)
