Anyone wanna predict the ratings for tonight’s “Mother’s Little Helper”
I think we’ll keep the .8 from last week. I think the half hours from this week will be worth really looking at, though.

I dunno…Emma did once call Rumple “family” and that was the reason she’d “save him” way back in S2. And even if they are no one to Emma and Snow, they are someone to Henry and moreover they are *people* and *parents* and the idea that Emma just blasts into the shop and says she’ll kill Gideon–not because he’s threatening to kill her or because he is a menace to the town she’s sworn to protect–but because Gideon “messed with her” by sending away Hook, oof. She sounds like a petulant high schooler.
And Snow just sounds stupid when she says she’ll be happy to help because it’s mother-daughter bonding…as she says this to Belle, a mother who is trying to save her own child!! I mean, I thought Snow learned her lesson after the whole Maleficent/dragon egg thing when she realized that Mal’s baby was still that–a baby!–and it’s hypocritical of her to want to save her own child over someone else’s. Isn’t this an almost exact riff on that theme???

I think that’s how they’ll explain it.

It seemed implied at the end of S3 that all of the lost boys came back to Storybrooke with the Nevengers, didn’t it?
*shrugs?* I could believe that a few of them stayed behind since it’s not like Nevengers took a head count. I think what I’m wondering is what NVL is like without the Shadow; do you still stay young forever? What role did the Shadow have in the magic of NVL? Is it still dark 24/7 (the promo seems to suggest no so why not?)

Yes, that was my first thought as well. They’ll have to flex it somewhere else while Scandal runs its 7th season. If The Catch is cancelled after this year, they could make it HTGAWM spring replacement airing at 10 and then move it in to 9pm once Scandal is over.
However, just because it’s Shonda doesn’t guarantee that it’ll be a hit. The Catch was also a Shonda show made to fill in the void for HTGAWM during the Spring, and it’s underperformed both Seasons they’ve tried it.
That’s true but ABC has a weird relationship with Shonda shows. Even if it underperforms, they renew it with the hope that it’ll catch on (probably because of what happened with Scandal during its second and third season where the ratings went up as opposed to down from its first). I think the only Shonda show to not get a second season is Off The Map which ended its run with a 1.3 (man how TV standards have dropped…)

I’ve heard the same. If true, ABC needs to get a solid replacement so they don’t lose their TGIT dominance because we’ve seen just this past year what happens when you drop one of the TGIT shows and try to squeeze in a non-TGIT show (Notorious)
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Even though Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal have already been renewed, both shows ratings are in a slump, showing once again the trash-can-on-fire that is ABC right now. Here are the ratings for Grey’s and Scandal for this week:
Grey’s: 7.23/ 1.7
Scandal: 5.10/ 1.2
The Catch, a second season show and one that only airs in the spring isn’t doing so hot either getting a 3.56/.7 this week. I think it got a pity renewal/Shonadaland renewal last year but it may not fair so well this year. Though, I don’t think it’s the next one on the chopping block.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"So maybe she created the dark curse as a way to free herself forever from her banishment realm, give her a brand new life, and possibly make herself immortal (since Time stood still in SB). Sounds legit.
But what the Black Fairy didn’t foresee was that creating such a powerful magic came with a price–she’d have to sacrifice the thing she loves most. But in her case she doesn’t love anything (if they want to go the pure evil route) so was unable to cast the curse? That sounds workable, if we don’t ask why she didn’t just find someone to cast it for her like Rumple did with Regina.

I think it is safe to say that she leaves regularly if she is known for stealing children.

Also, Gideon messed with you?? Yeah, he sent your boyfriend to another realm but 1) it’s been proven a few times now that travel between realms is getting easier and more convenient 2) you and Hook keeping telling each other that you’re survivors and not to worry and 3) Gideon didn’t harm Hook nor has he made any moves to harm anyone and he even seems to have moved on from his whole “Kill Emma Swan!” riff.
So the “I’ll kill him if he puts one toe out of line!” thing is fairly eye-roll worthy. Ease up off that throttle, Emma.
Also, Snow? You stole a baby and sent it to another realm. Do shut up.
