KeymasterBut he doesn’t have the Jolly Roger?
New McGuffin alert!
I just realized—it’s probably the engagement ring since Emma gave it back to him.

KeymasterHENRY’S POWERS GO HAYWIRE,
Like, what? Does the pen force him to write all day and all night?
Henry experiences a disorienting shift in his powers that forces Regina to seek counsel from the previous Author.
I still don’t understand.
betting his most prized possession
But he doesn’t have the Jolly Roger?

KeymasterSo then yeah the Black Fairy would have created it only to not cast it?
Possibly because there is nothing she loves enough to sacrifice.

KeymasterBut does Rumple actually know who made the curse?
We don’t know but in S4 he and the Queens of Darkness did steal it from the Chernabog cave. Maybe the Chernabog belonged to the Black Fairy?

KeymasterThis was historically bad for Jane Espensen for sure.
After thinking about this overnight, I have started to wonder if Jane only wrote the present day SB stuff–drunk Snow, Regina/Emma, and the ending with Gideon/Emma. While the last bit with Gideon and Emma was totally horrible and eyeroll worthy with the “Tears of the Savior” the other stuff was the only highlight, IMO, of an incredibly weak episode–so weak that many have noted that it’s Jane’s worst. So maybe she didn’t really have a hand in it?

KeymasterDid anyone happen to see the half hours? I’m really interested if the audience was flipping half way through.

KeymasterWe needed to see this
Yes, this. That’s a pretty big change from how he previously felt and that kind of character turn *must* be shown. So either 1) we’ll never see it OR 2) Gideon is faking in wanting Emma’s help

Keymasterdoes this also mean that Rumple was always fated to be the Dark One, seeing as she literally birthed him?
That actually makes a lot of sense. I have been thinking that ever since I found out that the dark fairy was his mom. It can’t be that much of a coincidence that Zoso picked the son of the black fairy to be the next dark one. Maybe he was fated to be the dark one from the very start.
Man does that mess with evil isn’t born, it’s made.
