So Rumple giving him a memory spell after Bae acted OOC didn’t save any face at all for you guys? Isn’t that the definition of why it wasn’t OOC? Now we know that at one time, Bae was tempted and used the dagger to kill someone whom he deemed a threat to him and his father.
Do I think it fits with Rumple’s character? yes.
Do I think Bae using the dagger in the first place to command his father to kill someone is In Character? No.
I also don’t think its fits with the previously established way the dagger works and that the memory potion is a poor excuse/MacGuffin. It’s shoddy writing all around. It also recasts the Rumple/Bae dynamic quite a bit, IMO. Rumple walked away from his darker instincts by not killing Beowulf. He proved that he had it in him to fight the call of darkness. And then Bae pushed him over the edge both by ordering him to kill Beowulf and needing to be saved from the dagger’s power. Again, very in line with Rumple’s character, not so much with Bae’s.

Yes, though only the once (well, one set) so far. It first happened yesterday on the ipad while my desktop Linux computer was off, and then today on the desktop. Do you think the error message is from using the same login on multiple machines?
Yes. It happens to me when I try to post on my phone and then switch to my laptop. I found, though, that all I have to do is hit “submit” again and the post actually posts (the writing should still be there, just turned red?)

Given that he was raised by the black fairy and memory potions apparently don’t work on him, that the black fairy tried to make him go dark for 28 years and failed, being the product of true love and the son of the dark one (Bae was conceived when Rumple was human and he hasn’t magical so it wouldn’t apply to him the same way). Maybe he’s just somehow inmune to being seduced by the darkness?…. just a few thoughts
That’s possible. Though, I’d say it has more to do with being the son of the Dark One instead of the product of True Love because Emma was certainly seduced by the Darkness and she’s the product of the truest of all true loves.

Right, agreed. The only thing it does is prove that either 1) the writers don’t understand/remember their characters or 2) if they do understand/remember they don’t care about those same characters. Whatever serves the plot of the moment is how they write their characters.

Like I responded to someone else…you think he’d still wonder why he didn’t need to sleep. A memory potion might erase the memory of being the Dark One but it doesn’t erase you actually being the Dark One and all the traits that come with that.

Maybe it’s Mrs. Gold and Son now … I’m sure Rumple would have left his shop to his wife in case of his early death. He’s a lawyer after all and probably knows how to draft a will.
