KeymasterBut King George, he doesn’t regret anything. He’s not trying to be a better person.
Well he’s also been given zero room to do so. He’s been locked up in prison by our characters and (out of universe) not part of the narrative for four years. Now I know that’s because he’s a D-list character and not an A or even a B, but if we’re thinking in-universe then what right do any of the characters have to lock someone up because of their crimes when several murderers who have fallen off the wagon in terms of darkness are not.

KeymasterI still wonder if he will go on living as the DO
There’s still that idea that someone can use the darkness for light. And if it’s going to be Rumple, then bring him full circle and have him do it for his son.

KeymasterBased on the title for the finale, I’d say we’re not out of the woods yet wrt Gideon/The Black Fairy (though my money is more on Gideon being part of the final battle. )

KeymasterThe title seems ambiguous with regards to renewal. Either “The Final Battle” refers to the end of the current OUAT (Emma, Snow, Regina, Rumple) OR it’s the final battle in terms of the ultimate light vs dark, good vs evil, and the show ends once and for all.
I think A and E are hedging their bets on a renewal though. I still think without a doubt that they’d name their series finale “Happily Ever After”

KeymasterWell… It certainly sounds like the end. Title makes sense too since ‘The Final Battle’ was prophesied by Rumple in the pilot. Slightly surprised that it isn’t ‘Happily Ever After’ though…
OR it’s the end of the current CharMillStiltskin arc and the new Henry arc is coming?
Also, does this mean that The Black Fairy really is THE big bad? Or perhaps it’s Jafar? Karen has basically confirmed on Twitter that she’s back for at least Part 1.
Idk. I think the final battle is between Emma and Gideon and the Black Fairy really does die in her centric

KeymasterWow, this Nielsen delay is all sorts of ridiculous. A big and important company like Nielsen doesn’t have backup generators to prevent this sort of thing from happening?
As should be expected, the networks are rather upset as well.

Keymaster“She blames herself to a degree,” Parrilla answered, “but she definitely blames another person — who I won’t mention.”
Well Emma was the one who told Regina to bring Robin, or at least try. So…Regina vs Emma? Again?
Or it could be David if she finds out about the wish he made?
oh! yes and that would explain the Charming vs Regina song-battle.

KeymasterHusband and Wife for one episode and then separated forever. Real great show you’ve got there.
People are often reunited and then separated on this show. Neal brings back Rumple and dies forever. Regina is reunited with Daniel only to have to kill him in the same episode. Regina and Henry Sr. are reunited in the afterlife and she watches him depart. Cora comes back and is reunited with Regina (and to a lesser extent Rumple) and then dies. The show literally starts off with someone trying to separate a husband and wife forever.
I’m not saying I want Emma to die. I’m saying that I think it’s stronger storywise having her die (fulfilling her role as Savior since that does sometimes happen in their cycle) than to simply be off screen, never seen, but apparently still communicating with Henry. You don’t think it reads as incredibly cheap to have Emma “around” but never coming to save the day, see her family, or appear? I think that’s just straight up ridiculous. The writers would need a very sound reason why Emma wouldn’t be coming to fight the current Big Bad, whatever it is.
Even if JMo were to guest spot, having Emma ride in at the last second ater 11 episodes not appearing just to defeat the bad guy is…weird.
And furthermore who the heck says Jared is staying?
No one, certainly not me. I said Jared would leave and become the Adult!Henry. And seeing Adult!Henry without his mother(s) is depressing for me given that Henry relationship with both his mothers has been a bedrock of this show. Which means you need a very sound reason for Emma to not be around for her son. This leads me to…..
Again you’re not explaining how they will work the story of all these characters leaving.
Except I did. Snowing leave to the EF (a door, a portal, a bean, a heretofore unexplained plot device) to rule and rebuild. Regina likely stays (cause I think Lana would stay); Jared leaves but is aged up into the new actor so that the story now becomes Adult Henry and his adopted daughter, who I think might be the new Savior because the casting calls are gender reversed story parallels of Emma and Henry in S1 and because that’s how A and E roll, wheels within wheels. If we’re supposed to believe that this new Henry has become cynical then I can only imagine it’s because he’s lost Violet (his wife) and Emma (his mother) in death, the latter of which gets JMo off the show. Because they wont kill both Emma and Hook at the same time, Hook goes off on the JR, which also has the nice byproduct that he can return for guest spots.

KeymasterI'm not going to single out the ones I was told but I personally would be surprised to see RC, JMo, Gosh, Emilie back

That list was my personal opinion, I'd be surprised if Colin left if they wanted him still

It’s better to write Emma and Hook off that way. Together than the other way cause that is just very depressing
Well I disagree but that’s just subjective on which I think is the most important relationship because only hearing that Henry sees Emma or hears from her now and again because she’s off with a new life is depressing to me.
Death is sad too of course. But it would follow certain savior tropes.

KeymasterInstead of going down this depressing route, why not just end it on a happy note and have Emma and Hook leave together on the JR on their honeymoon going on adventures off screen.
Henry.
Emma would never abandon him forever like that. Sure, they could do the whole “we got a letter from your mom today! She sure does miss you” but six years of this show have largely been devoted to the Emma/Henry relationship. Now you could argue that the Henry/Emma relationship has felt more or less hollow for awhile now (an argument I would make as well) but in the minds of A and E, it’s not. They don’t see it that way. And with one of the bigger themes of the show being abandonment and breaking the cycle of it, having Emma run off with her new hubby with a new life and leaving the son she broke the original curse with behind would be…distasteful. For a variety of reasons.
