Yeah. I think you don’t bring back King George after four years and don’t make him Charming’s father’s murderer.

I know the name of the episode suggests a murder but perhaps it is something else. I really don’t think they would have Hook be the killer and it being the black fairy is just too easy. But if she isn’t in the episode…..that makes it tricky. Maybe his father is actually still alive?
In one interview, they said we would find out who killed Grandpapa Charming before Easter. That combined with the PR, the promo and the fact that we have the other Pre-Easter centrics more or less lined up (13: Rumple; 14: Regina; 15: CS/Jaladdin;) this is really the only time.

BESIDES …. Ginny was not on set when filming these scenes she was back with the real babies. . .
Their kisses do wake each other up. But the other falls asleep in response. Charming should have fallen asleep when he kissed Snow’s forehead, and Snow should have woken up.
And if Ginny was unavailable then that’s fine, but then don’t write the scene that is inconsistent to the previously established story.

I can see that but it bothers me because Gideon rejected all of the Black Fairy’s teachings, hates everything she is. So why hold on to that one lesson?

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"There’s more straight up murder on Regina’s side but there’s also a nasty hypocritical/false heroism streak running through the Charmings, at least in the past few seasons. Since S4 they’ve:
–stolen Mal’s baby and sent it to another world
–almost burned Isaac alive while he was still living inside the Book (and only stopped, not because that would be cruel and wrong, but because Regina might no get her happy ending otherwise)
–and in the spring premiere, Charming told Belle in no uncertain terms that she had one chance to save Gideon with an implied “or else.”
And that’s just what I can think of right now.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Now, apart from the fact that Emma’s version is actually more closely aligned with the Andersen story, which version is the better thesis statement for OUAT? Are they both equally true? Are they more true for some characters than others?
Young Emma’s version was way better. The swan was always a swan, even when she she didn’t realize it, but she did eventually thanks to her family. It’s so much better than *insert magic answer here* and a far more positive message than the tale August sold her and then tried to sell to us. Nope.
100% agree. I was quite bothered that August’s version was given more weight in the end. The Ugly Duckling (Emma’s version of it) matches Emma’s own journey. I get why the show likes August’s version–and it matches August’s own perspective given his life and his experiences with belief–but Emma’s 6 season journey scans almost perfectly with the fairy tale and her take on it.
