It sorta looks that way. Charming gets a centric, Snow gets a centric, Zelena gets a centric, CS get and adventure and married, Henry…grows up???, Rumple gets a centric that actually has Baelfire. The premiere is Emma centric and a big portion of the season seems geared toward her mythology.
It’s a bit hilarious/disconcerting (as ready as I am for this to be over). I thought we’d have almost a whole year to prepare for the end and now…it really is looking like come May we’re gonna be locking up the doors.

As a WL fan, it ticks me off even more that they went and recast Naveen as Jafar given that he was used so little in A and is now free in 6B after Sense8.

So this sorta confirms something I’ve been saying for a bit: Adam and Eddy basically have a checklist of frequently asked/requested things (Rumple’s mom, the Black Fairy, the musical) and are trying to get through as many of them as they can because they know their time is up.

Yeah, this has always been an ensemble show with a heavy focus on the connections between Emma, Snow, Regina, and Rumple. In order for Regina to carry on without the other three, you need to fill the void with characters who are equally compelling and have an equal meaty history with Regina. So the task before the writers would be astronomical. You need to create, flesh out, and develop at least 3 characters who have the same narrative weight to Regina that Emma, Snow, and Rumple already have but you need to do it in the span of one season instead of the former 6. Why one? Because the ratings are already so low and in order to push this “new” show, ABC and A and E have one shot (one season) to prove that a Regina focused show can survive and prosper just like OUAT did.
