KeymasterI’m not sure why this is a big deal, lol. Once I saw the promo I knew where season six was going and even if the promo had not shown a ring, everyone has been predicting this ever since Hook gave Emma Checkov’s Ring in 5a.
So Robert is dead and ghosting around town for an episode? I mean, sure, why not. “Nothing makes sense and anything is possible” (so sayeth Rumple in 610) is actually the motto of this show.

KeymasterThat sets up the rest of the season’s schedule as well. Two hour finale, like the past 3 years.

KeymasterWhy would Regina be 18 years older then Snow? I would say she is five years older then Snow, maybe ten at the very most.
yeah I was gonna say 8-10. When Snow met Regina she was about 8-10 and Regina was right around 18.

KeymasterIt’s interesting that 3B and 5B were the most stable, as the difference between their premieres and finales were only a tenth. And overall, the biggest drops tend to happen within the first half of the Season.
Speaking of 6B, I know it’s super early but I think I’ll put down my prediction for 6×11 as 1.0, a slight increase over the 6A finale. We’ll end S6 somewhere between .8-1.0, with little dropping.

Keymasterre we going to talk about how Princess Emma was humming “Someday My Prince Will Come” while picking flowers when suddenly Regina arrived — dressed like a prince? How are we supposed to interpret that? Regina being dressed as a prince didn’t seem like just a coincidence.
Ship bait. They like giving the Swen fandom big moment that make total sense (because SQ actually makes more sense than any other ship on this show, apart from SwanFire) and then they refuse to go there because…*insert your choice of reason why here*

KeymasterYou don’t plan to answer what everyone’s happy ending looks like unless it’s the very end of the series.
Fire insurance in case they do get cancelled they can say they gave everyone their happy endings. But, by and large, this isn’t up the writers. If ABC wants another season, A and E will find another story. They’ve said in other interviews that they aren’t writing this as if it’s the final season.
And yes, there are lots of factors. But while the ad buys are down from last year, OUAT still pulls in a fair amount of money for ABC–not to mention all the Disney merch tie ins. The fact that it hasn’t gotten syndication means that ABC/Disney needs to milk it for all its worth. There are other shows that are pulling in less money and have poorer ratings. Quantico, S and L, AoS…
There are only a few midseason shows coming in 2017–neither are the same “family friendly” (and more importantly, DISNEY friendly). Still Star Crossed seems ripe for a 9pm slot (I could actually see OUAT being a lead in) and Time After Time has a large mythology but isn’t family hour TV. With Quantico moving (and probably getting cancelled) and S and L done (probably forever) OUAT is now the stabilizing factor on Sunday. It’s low, but it’s steady–and it bounces from fractional to just above.
I would say the greater factor is the actors themselves (though I have no doubt that A and E would find a way to write this show without, say, Ginny and Bobby).
So it could be the final season, but there are a lot of good reasons why the Cancel Bear and the Grim Reaper are leaning toward renewal.

Keymasterand clearly didn’t go off to visit the Darlings and have that stuff happen
Well this doesn’t make a lick of sense but whatever. It doesn’t matter why he’s dead, what the WishWorld made or didn’t make. It doesn’t matter if they asked MRJ and he said no or they didn’t ask him at all. They made sure to put in a Nealfire reference to save themselves a massive headache from angry fans demanding to know where he was and whether or not he was still Henry’s father (never mind that their answer is sloppy, inconsistent, incoherent, and all around dumb). I mean, sure. Yay that SwanFire was always destined to meet and have Henry. It’s a hollow victory; we got our Swanfire reference for the year and now…back to your regularly scheduled CS.

KeymasterThat said, there’s a lot of things floating around in Robin Hood mythology, in Evil Queen/Regina mythology, going all the way back to season three, that needs to be addressed. Whether it be page 23, which we certainly address head-on in an upcoming episode, the page from Storybrooke that mysteriously appeared to Regina, which showed her kissing Robin Hood, that gets addressed. From the premiere of the season, when we saw that feather float down after Regina had her heart-to-heart with Snow, that was placed in that scene for a reason and it’s something we’ve been building to all year. We address that again. There’s a whole bunch of different threads involving what happened to Robin Hood last year,
This sorta kills the whole “it’s not really Robin Hood, it’s Roland!” theory. Which I never bought into anyway but…there it is.
