KeymasterIt’s just another unneeded additional storyline that the writers love to randomly add.
Yes this is frustrating. If they didn’t have a commitment from someone–Jaime or Agnes, whichever way they wanted to go–then they needed to not have the Dragon drop this massive “I have a daughter” bombshell. If they never intended it to be Lily then holy unnecessary sub-sub-sub-sub plotline, Batman!

KeymasterWow
I have thoughts and most of them are jumbled. The finale was really good and I agree that this is one of the smartest shows on TV right now. I sometimes wonder if it’s…too smart. They’re dealing with concepts that haven’t even been solidified by academics and that can be hard to see on TV because of their intangible nature. I mean, put three philosophers in a room and ask them to discuss what consciousness is and you’ll get three different answers. Sometimes really cerebral TV shows have this problem (Mr Robot, for example) where they get so caught up in being a show about an idea (or ideas) that it forgets to slow down just a hair and breathe character into the space between ideas (this speaks to Bar’s opinion about how the characters, while well performed don’t elicit sympathy in large quantities they are manifestations of those ideas instead of characters).
That wasn’t meant to be heavily critical. I really love this show and I love cerebral TV in general. I just feel like at the end of 10 episodes I have less to say about plot and character development and more about the ideas the narrative is toying with. However, the ideas–geez–the ideas! They are the sort that create and generate conversation and I love that about this show.
–Dolores = Wyatt was not a twist I saw coming but when I look back, it makes sense.
–The MiB = William was confirmed
–So….Maeve: awake or not? Actually, same with Dolores. Ford’s final speech about how his new narrative begins in a time of war, with a murder at the hands of a villain named Wyatt (with whom Dolores has merged, thanks to Arnold) sounds like a hint that Dolores is still not totally free. What if freedom itself is an allusion, another construct programmed into us by society and culture? All of this, if I take a real pessimistic view, is that Maeve and Dolores (and all the Hosts) are now in a new narrative that give them the appearance of consciousness.
–Ford’s not a villain? At least not a conventional one. He did all this to bring Arnold’s dream to life? I mean it doesn’t excuse his killing of Therese.

KeymasterIt doesn’t need to be logical. None of this is logical. All they have to say is that Nealfire is off far far far away (heck even in a different realm like Wonderland because, again, PLOT) where he doesn’t hear the news of Snowing until later and during his journey home, Emma and Regina leave and the WishWorld is now inaccessible because PLOT. It’s not like it really matters. The WishWorld is going last a few episodes, probably.
MRJ has never said no to them. When they needed Neal, they got him.

KeymasterI find it odd that A. a Snow White raised this Emma, and B. a Baelfire fell in love with this Emma.
That’s it. That’s it right there. Like, I get that Emma grew up loved and spoiled but this is still a universe where Snow White was on the run, a bandit, and where Charming had to fight to save her and to take down the EQ. But somehow THIS is the Emma they raised??? I get what the writers were going for but denying Emma any shred of her fire or spunk was…an odd choice.

KeymasterSome fun news for @thedarkonedearie and I 🙂
–episode 3×15 is titled “How the Riddler Got His Name” and is apparently heavily Ed centric. I actually clapped.

KeymasterHmm, maybe it is Mulan then?
I was thinking the same. I’m not sure what Gotham’s plans are for Jamie, but if she’s going back to that show, then she can’t really pull double duty–even for an episode–on ABC as Mulan which would explain the answer that they can’t get to the Dragon’s daughter this year.

KeymasterOk while it’s nice that Adam’s all “SwanFire meeting was destiny!” in that tweet…they STILL went and had him die in the WishWorld without Henry even meeting him which, given that it’s supposedly Emma’s WishWorld, is infuriating. There is actually a real simple solution here, writers. When Henry wishes his father were there Emma could just say “Baelfire is off [insert irrelevant plot point here] and even though he and I are no longer together I know he’s proud of you today, Henry.”
Look, I solved it. Bae’s alive and plays an active role in Henry’s life, Emma and Neal aren’t together in order to appease the shippers on the other side of this great divide, Regina is still the one who saves Emma from the WishWorld to appease still the OTHER shippers, and Hook will likely show up in the WishWorld and make moon eyes at Emma (and vice verse) to give the ratings/ad buyers/ABC soulless vampires their CS fix and everyone leaves before Bae comes back to WishWorld Casa Charming, thus getting MRJ out of having to appear.
My god. Why don’t I write this show?

KeymasterIn a word, “No,” that Dragon (played by Tzi Ma) has nothing to do with the mystery of Lily’s father, the series cocreators confirmed for Matt Mitovich. “We had high hopes” to revisit that story in Season 6, Eddy Kitsis shared, “but we just won’t get to
Well. Okay. So there goes that theory. And still no word on Lily

Keymaster3) The figure under the hood would be the Dark Swan or some figment of Emma’s worst self
I think this is the biggest missed opportunity this season. Emma batting her Savior self and all the emotional turmoil that would cause is meaty as heck while being incredibly cohesive to who Emma’s journey all along.

KeymasterAlso, the current Cancellation Bear still thinks OUAT is a tossup, but is leaning a bit more towards a renewal:
Which is pretty much what Matt and I have been saying for awhile now: ABC can’t cancel everything so even though it’s not pretty, there are things with a far greater chance of cancellation.
