RumplesGirl
KeymasterSo where did Blue Fairy go…? Did she cross the town line? Or did she cross realms? I really am confused on this (and unlike some other questions, I do think we’ll get answers to this)

KeymasterWhy do we always leave off the abuse that Belle is inflicting on Rumple. Rumple is not the only one being abusive is this relationship
I do agree with that. Belle’s being written as a very cliche hysterical pregnant woman who uses her love as a weapon and bargaining tool. “Do what I want and I’ll love you. If you don’t behave in a manner I like, then I take my love away!”
I think we get caught up in talking only about Rumple’s abuse because it’s more obvious but Belle has been horrible as well.

KeymasterThe synopsis mentions that “wishes fly” which implies that multiple wishes may be granted during the episode. I wonder who else makes a wish?
From the promo it looks like Emma makes a wish that she was never the Savior and then the EQ somehow gets Aladdin’s lamp and wishes that Emma’s wish came true.

KeymasterAnyone else find it odd how they didn’t give us a single episode still? They’re ALL behind the scenes pictures.
Yeah I did. We know there are several SB scenes.

KeymasterRumple’s motives were not to harm Belle or his son, but to protect them.
Well I disagree that Rumple’s motives were to protect his son. I think Rumple’s doing what Rumple does at this point in the show–he protects himself first and foremost. He wants to protect what is left of his broken and fragile ego and sense of self worth (a thing I used to adore about him) and because he can’t face the idea of another son not loving him (which is codswallop…seriously, someone bring up Bae and not just as a reminder that he died!) he panics and resorts to black magic and trickery and abuse and manipulation. It’s self preservation, not protection. I has nothing really to do with loving his son and everything to do with hating himself and maybe that’s sympathetic (Bobby’s acting like you said does sell a lot of this) but that doesn’t mean that Belle or Gideon or anyone–least of all the audience–should be hoping for a happy, lovey dovey ending because his methods are deplorable.
The best case scenario is that Rumple gives up his magic and goes to live a life of seclusion, to ATONE (a concept this show has historically done poorly with) by accepting what he said way back in 3A “villains don’t get happy endings.” Maybe he’s actually right about that. Maybe he doesn’t get one. I don’t think he should anymore. I think his happy ending is inner peace and not external love. And that either comes through a life lived alone or through making peace with himself before death.

KeymasterRumple’s recent treatment of Belle has been abusive, but not actually violent
Isn’t that quantifying which types of abuse are worse than others? A black eye is worse than emotional hurt, in other words? Personally I don’t think it works that way. I think every instance of abuse is simply that….it’s abuse.
Has he ever hit her…no. Is it still really horrible, life altering abuse? Yes. And while “it’s a story” is a nice neat excuse (especially if you’re predisposed to WANT Rumbelle back together) it doesn’t excuse the moral message behind the story that the writers would be selling–and all stories have them. You know that. By your logic something like 50 Shades of Grey is a riveting and emotionally compelling slice of “other” romantic life, even with all it’s consent and rape culture issues.
There’s nothing wrong with having a darker morally grey (even black) story but if the writers aren’t openly making commentary on it (those missed opportunities you mentioned) then it’s just a moral repugnant story being sold as a morally uplifting story. “Hey look! That guy who mentally and emotionally assaulted his wife got forgiven and a happy ending! Women in these kinds of relationships…just keep on trucking. And taking him back. He’ll change for you eventually.”

Keymaster….okay….
That’s…weird?

KeymasterSo in theory…
6×11-6×14: the after-effects of the AU/whatever Robin in
6×15-6×20: Jafar/Aladdin/Agrabah
6×21-6×22: Setting up S7 with a two hour season finale

KeymasterThat makes sense. So the AU ends around 614–or whatever lingering effects of the AU are left (Robin…?). And then it will likely go full on Jafar/Savior storylines.

KeymasterThis was after these recent episodes had already been filmed, too. I do think we could still see more of Jafar, but it’ll happen in the 2nd half.
I guess it’ll happen *after* the AU is solved (I’m guessing it’s not all the way solved with RH running around SB). Then the Jasmine, Aladdin, Jafar story will come back for the last 8ish episodes.
