KeymasterThreads like these don’t *have* to be shippy threads. At least not romantic shippy threads. The Swanfire and CaptianSwan threads are obviously romantic shippy threads because that’s how the show is presenting them but then of course we run into the “but what is the show presenting and what are we interpreting” and then my head hurts.
I kinda agree that paired threads generally should be positive places for people that like the pair. (But then like the pair as what—because I like the idea of Mufire being a BFF ship type and would love to discuss their interaction last night but I don’t wanna step on Shiper toes) See. Everything is circular and can be interpreted in many ways so while I can get on my Mod box and yell “ship and let ship!” I also have to say “polite discussion is for everyone!” This is exactly the reason why we opened the CSF thread.
There is no solution here. If the creator and romantic shippers of Mufire are open to letting this be a general Mufire thread about Neal and Mulan in general, then we don’t really have a problem. But it’s not a problem for this to be a romantic thread either.
*EDIT*
Stupid Casper-Peeves prevented me from posting this for like 2 hours. *twitch*

KeymasterEverything ok, here?
Yes we are a “ship and let ship, even if that ship is no ship” site–to the core I would say. Ship whatever pleases you! I think one of the problems we’re having is that the individual shipping threads are also becoming places for people to stop by and say why they *don’t* ship that ship. It’s happening at HookedQueen, Mufire, FireQueen it has happened at Hookriel and it was happening at the individual CS and SF threads until we started the CSF thread to talk things out. I’m not going to say that people can’t post their opinions to any ship in that particular thread (because I’m not evil in that manner) and actually I’m not overly sure how to deal when this sort of thing happens because we encourage thoughtful debate but I think the preference of the shippers is that it remain a positive place for their own ships.
I am open to suggestions here guys.

KeymasterSo #OnceUponATime returned UP 15% in viewers and UP 18% in the 18-49demo! The #1 broadcast drama of the night! THANK YOU! #SaveHenry

Adam and Eddy seem pretty happy with the ratings so far. I’ve been looking around and everyone is agreeing that up against the football game, the Breaking Bad marathon, and given low S2 numbers, ONCE either did a little better than expected.

KeymasterWhat follows are the fast affiliate results for Sunday, September 29 (Night 7 of the 2013-14 TV season) broken out by network and by each half-hour. Note: CBS had a 15-minute delay in a number of large markets (including New York, Chicago, Houston, Detroit, Tampa, Nashville, Hartford, Kansas City, Memphis and Knoxville) due to late running football. Ratings for the Eye net are tentative, therefore, and are subject to change

So, over all a 2.6 ratings share and 8.5 million live views. I know we all tend to freak over numbers so let’s talk it out. First off, they’re not fantastic. No one is going to deny that. It was a disappointing night overall for ABC. But the football game REALLY hurt us. ONCE was ABC’s #1 show on Sunday which is good. We did go up from 222 episode from a 2.2 to a 2.6. And our live+7 views will be better.

KeymasterI can’t help but think that the word “wrinkle” could be a clue. Has anyone read the science-fiction novel “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle? I haven’t, but the word “wrinkle in time” is a popular culture reference to this book, ad that is the first that popped into my head. Here is a brief synopsis of that book.
Totally. Love that book.
This sort of sounds like Robin Hood and Neal could be doing some traveling through space and time themselves. Also, the book is about a family separated by mysterious circumstances, which is similar to my theory that Robin Hood was separated from Marian and his child, who might’ve been Tamara.
Kinda wish we could confirm if MRJ is at least briefly appearing on WL.

KeymasterThe ratings are trickling in. The full numbers will be up in a few hours but here’s the first breakdown for Heart of the Truest Believer
Earlier in the evening on ABC was 7 p.m. recap special “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: Journey to Neverland” at a third-place 3.4/ 6. Next was the third season-premiere of “Once Upon a Time” at a third-place 5.2/ 8 from 8-9.m., which slid by 28 percent from its year-ago season-opener (7.1/11 on 9/30/12), followed by the third season-premiere of aforementioned “Revenge” at a 5.3/ 8 (#3) from 9-10 p.m. One year earlier, then relocated “Revenge” also opened notably stronger with a 6.6/10 on 9/30/12. The bottom line: Consider this a disappointing opening Sunday for ABC.

Going up against Sunday night football on NBC did us no favors. These aren’t the best they could be but they certainly aren’t totally horrible. They’ll go up as people watch it on Hulu or DVR and our live+7 viewings. ONCE topics were trending from the East coast viewing and throughout the night, such as: #SaveHenry, Neverland, Rumple, Once Upon A Time, and others. Still not sure how Twitter is going to affect the overall ratings we get on Monday mornings…
We’ll keep updating with numbers as we get them.
EDIT:
Another hindrance, AMC has been running a Breaking Bad marathon all weekend gearing up for the Series Finale that was at 9pm last night. That was a big negative in our direction as most of America is enamored of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

KeymasterI do think that Rumple’s whole speech to Emma–and note that it WAS directed at Emma specifically–might have been his playing her as only Rumple can, giving her what she needed, inspiration and knowledge, to rescue Henry if he can’t (or maybe that’s his whole plan from the start). But while he’s generally better at controlling his emotions than, say, Regina, his responses are that much stronger when they come out, and anything to do with Bae or Belle can make him unpredictable even to himself.
I think Rumple believes wholeheartedly in the power of Emma. I mean he ensured that she would be the Savior and that she would break the Curse and lead him to Bae. He has tons of faith in Emma, but unlike Snowing he can’t reassure her with hugs. So he does what he does: forces her to prove him wrong.
