It seems to be that all people can do magic to some degree. For example, Snow is able to do magic without being trained. However, we clearly see that Neal uses his love for Emma to fuel the globe (which was awesome). What we haven’t seen yet is Emma use TL for Neal to save him in any regard. Obviously *puts on Shipping goggles* I’d like to see that.

Right. And 303 is also a Regina episode so my guess is that Regina meets RH in the past somehow. And then they won’t be reunited until 307/8 ish

Given that traditionally, PP doesn’t exactly believe in a mother’s love being a reliable thing, (thinking his own mother replaced him with a new baby), he may not expect Emma to pass the test. Or maybe he sets her this task because he’s curious to see if that motherly love and belief is actually possible?
What if PP sees Emma’s strength as a mother and, like he does with Wendy in the traditions, wants to keep Emma in NL to be Mother to all the Lost Boys?
