Well one thing that makes me think it’s not Jafar is that:
Hmm. That does present a problem. Either Eddy spoke without thinking– wouldn’t be the first time– or it really is someone else. But I just have no clue because I think jafar makes the most sense

There is no episode next week. Then episode 9 and 10 before winter break. We do not know when episode 11 will air. But we should know soon

There’s a loophole for that but it’s a rather eye roll worthy one. I wouldn’t put it past them at all to change Jafar’s bottle for a more traditional lamp.

We’ve seen what mirror images can do to our characters–like S4 with Belle looking into Ingrid’s mirror and seeing an “opposite” Belle, of sorts. I think this more than anything should have been played up, instead of just a barren landscape with lots of mirrors. I also have a lot of questions about the logistics of this world, but I know they are pointless since the world building on this show is never going to be satisfying.

I don’t think it’s what the writers originally planned (if they actually had anything planned at all) and I’m not sure it makes a lick of sense from many standpoints–race, the timeline–but yeah, it’s Lily.
When it comes to race, I’m guessing they’ll easily shrug it off as “it’s a dragon thing”.

According to WL. They are playing fast and loose with Wonderland as of late, trying to satisfy both the non-WL viewers and the WL viewers. And, really, when has the timeline ever stopped them. Jafar has to come into play at some point in present day, right? Otherwise he’s a total waste of a character and recast.
I just don’t get why it would be Sydney. He has nothing to do with Aladdin and Jasmine, whereas Jafar is full of juicy potential. If he’s in the bottle, then he owes allegiance to Aladdin if Aladdin awakens him. I just don’t see the writers passing that up, even if it messes with WL canon.

He ended up a genie but it wasn’t a lamp; I think it was a bottle. But that means nothing since the writers are trying to distance Jafar of Wonderland from Jafar of OUAT as much as possible.

Maybe but I have no idea why he would want this. Regina is decidedly on the Charming’s side whereas the EQ is in his corner, an ally with just as much magic and darkness as he. I don’t know why he would want to give that up. You could be right that he has some sort of long con going on, but to heck if I can see it.
