What if being a mermaid is a curse, remember the curse of the mermaids thing? Maybe Ariel was turned into a mermaid in FTL and banished to NL and the only way to break the curse was to *drum roll* get TRUE LOVE’S KISS!
Interesting, but what do we do about all the other lost mermaids in the sea? Who kisses them?

It’s rather politically fraught, much more so than when Barrie wrote PP in the 1890s and even more than when Disney made their animated classic. People would be very sensitive to how they are being portrayed and characterized. I get slightly uncomfortable whenever I watch the animated PP and they do the “What makes a Red man Red” song cause…eek.
Anyway, we haven’t had any casting calls thus far for anyone of Native America descent so I sorta doubt they’ll go down that road. It might be too much as well: mermaids, faries, the Lost Boys and PP’s reasons for wanting Henry.

Yeah Charming is in Charming clothing. So either this picture comes from a few weeks ago when they were shooting 302-303 and GG is just now uploading (very possible given the that it’s potentially spoiler-y) or they all put on FTL clothing in NL.

Dark background pretty much changes everything. They’re still not great and don’t make a lot of sense, but much better than whatever ABC was going for.

Wow Phee, that is bad. After reading those comments i’m wondering how these photos were allowed into the public domain. Once they’re posted on the internet, they can never be retracted, everyone knows that! I read somewhere, can’t remember where, that the blurriness could indicate the dimensions of the character. Belle’s pic is very clear, indicating that she knows who she is and doesn’t waver between the good and bad parts of herself. Hooks is VERY blurry because he’s still in two minds about what “side” he’s going to be on, etc. I’m not convinced though. Rumple should be even more blurry than Hook if that’s the case, and JMo should be more blurry than she is. I think that assessment is apologetic. If it were true the following characters should basically be blurry to the point of obscurity: Rumple, Regina, Emma, Hook. They are all struggling with “who am I?” Vancity also replied to another tweet that he’s surprised ABC didn’t give these photos to a focus group first.
