The guest role of Liam is being cast. He is 35 and British, with dark hair. He grew up an orphan but is now the captain of a Navy ship, and is well-liked and respected by his crew. Could this character have a connection to Captain Hook?
We haven’t heard anything more about this guy.
I don’t think so. He’s only in the one episode. If he was in more they’d say for a mutli story arc.

I think only things actually shown during an actual episode is CANON… that allows the writers to play with the story and NOT be boxed in to the spoilers / theories we come up with.
Adam has said on Twitter that the cut scenes that ARE on the DVD are in fact canon. Things that are not shown on the DVD box sets remain up in the air. But I think it follows that not being on the DVD set means not canon.

We’re not sure how much interaction the JR6 has had with the Lost Boys yet or if they share time with Ariel and Eric but that’s something to consider. RH for sure hasn’t met anyone but Bae thus far (in S3, yes he’s met Belle and Rumple)

I think one complaint people have had is slightly contrived family connections. Some are going to continue to play out naturally but tying everything back to Rumple in such a direct way gets to almost jump the shark territory (and hey they are on a boat in the ocean). I hope this is actually just a reshoot of the scene they already planned before, and are introducing it as a way to kickoff this third season as a thematic thing. Season 1 opens with Emma’s father. Season 2 opens with Henry’s father. Season 3 opens with Rumpel’s father. I’d love it if it ends up pointing to Oz instead of NL actually. Something that has a very long payout, nothing to do with the immediate arc at all.
The one thing that is keeping me from agreeing with your last point is that if they wanted to just do a reshoot of the cut scene from Manhattan, why bring back the father in 311? Especially when 311 is probably PP’s story. It’s the end of part one of S3 and it will probably be some sort of PP’s story.

If we accept that Regina is Ursula and has already had interactions with Ariel then it means she has been in NL. So there is a chance (however big or small) that she met Felix, who is basically the “face” of being in charge. He answers to PP but Felix is the one who greets/harasses the new comers.
Honestly I have no idea anymore.
Is the Regina romance going to happen within the first 11 episodes or is it a case of we’ll meet the love interest but the romance won’t happen until after Christmas?
I think they are going to be so busy with CSF and the “etherial” Rumbelle that they won’t have a whole lot of time for another romance. I think it’s after Xmas, but again, I have no idea.
