KeymasterUnless the connection is just Regina, the stand-in for the Sea Witch.
I think that is where all this is going, yes. Which bugs me given that Regina is probably also Tink’s surprising connection. But given Lana’s desire to play Ursula, the fact that she’s incorporated bits of Ursula into her own performance of the EQ, and that, let’s face it, Lana plays Evil better than anyone…she’s going to be the Sea Witch.
For me, at least, in order for them to really sell Regina as Ursula, there better be a really fantastic twist.

KeymasterWell, I’m not sure the two thoughts are going together. I think they are two separate things.
Ariel
1) has a connection to someone
2) she likes adventure and wishes to see the world.
Dreamy and Nova I’m going to rule out because Dreamy stayed in FTL in the mines or in the Dwarf cottage and Nova remained a fairy.
Belle…maybe? We don’t know much about her life prior to Skin Deep except that she seemed to be more or less under the thumb of her father, living like a future Duchess, but dreaming of adventure.
Hook is my first bet. My headcanon says they’ve never met before but it makes sense that he’d be the connection.

KeymasterYou think SB isn’t practical but returning to FTL where their castle has been destroyed, Ogres are running all over the land, and 90% of their subjects are still trapped in another world is?? Not to mention the lack of clothing, food, provisions, weaponry, ect. And just because you think SB is boring doesn’t mean that it’s not valuable to the show or to the writers. The entire premise of the show, from the beginning, was fairy tale characters trapped in our world. SB is very important to A and E and to the Onciverse. I’m not saying they will stay there forever (of course they won’t!) but you have to give them a reason to leave and right now their goal is to rescue Henry and get back to SB, if only for a short time.
I do think Dorothy is the head of the Home Office in our world, but they can’t just throw our cast into Oz and be like “oh btw: Dorothy!” That is such horrid writing. You have to build these things. That’s why we didn’t go to NL until the end of S2; they needed to establish NL as a threat, as a place where it was possible to go. They needed to tease the story. There is an arc that must be told. Why are they suddenly going to Oz when it’s only ever been on the periphery of the show? There are 11 episodes after the holiday break and you have to build to a finale and a set up of S4.

KeymasterThey moved the entire SB set indoors. The town is still standing, just on a sound stage. They are using it this season so far. We’ve seen people on it for both OUAT and OUATinWL (kid Pinocchio and Grace, for example. Not to mention Belle in SB). Having the set be moved indoors have nothing to do with them using or not using SB.
Emma was beginning to see that Storbrooke may not be the safest place in the world, but she is still very torn about where she wants to live. SB may not be safe, but that was in the wake of August’s “death.” The murdering team of GOAT have left the city and will probably not be returning to NL. Emma also knows that FTL isn’t exactly safe either; when she was there she had to deal with Ogres and Giants, not to mention villains. Two of those three elements still remain in FTL. Emma is also about to realize that NL isn’t safe, given how it is portrayed. All of this is going to weigh on her decision whether or not to move. But until she makes that decision, they return to SB. I do believe that they will eventually decide to leave SB, but that won’t come until mid way through the second half of S3 when danger continues to present itself.

KeymasterAll their friends are there, who are also their subjects. Also, all their belongings. And Emma doesn’t know if she wants to go back and for sure Snow isn’t going back if Emma doesn’t.

KeymasterI think it’s possible that Ariel has been shunned by the mermaid community and is living an isolated life. Hook may have encountered her sisters and sees them as baddies who will drown you without having met Ariel.

KeymasterI think the second half of S3 will be SB based and some sort of lingering threat from what happened in part one of the season. Oz feels more S4 than anything else.

KeymasterHook has to have some passing knowledge of them because he warns Bae about them in ASOTM. I would assume he has at least seen the NL mermaids.

KeymasterAt the moment, I’m thinking he was just taken there as a teen. Not necessarily at 17 though. Maybe the magic in NL is weakening and it’s making people begin to slowly age?
Could be that is why he needs Henry, to stop the magic from leaving NL altogether. I wonder if the magic began to weaken with the Dark Curse….

KeymasterThen maybe we’ll get real ones, soon. We better. I feel slightly offended if those are the real ones.
