Question: Is this true:
Well in the original books Ariel died and the disney version she lived and married the prince
😕
Yes. The original Ariel story is VERY dark. She dies in the end and the Prince marries someone else.

KeymasterAccording to The Return:
Blue Fairy: In this world, yes. You see, what ails your father is specific to our realm. His powers do not belong here. You must go where you can escape this wretched curse.
I’ve always been interested in the line I put into bold. It makes it seem as though outside of FTL the DO’s curse is either non-existent or subdued to a great extent. Yet Rumple can still wield some impressive magic in SB; it’s just his appearance that remains un-DO. There also seems to be a contradiction that what ails Rumple is specific to FTL yet his powers to not belong there.

KeymasterWe’ve talked in a few places about if Rumple will be full on DO in NL. From a practical standpoint, I wonder if it’s asking a bit much for RC to be in that makeup every single episode. His wake up call is like 4am or something ridiculous.
But I would like to know what conditions must be met in order for him to be full on DO. Is it only in FTL?

Can we consider Rumple leaving Belle behind a plot hole since to most of us it didn’t make much sense as to why he would do that when he could have left that info with others? Cause I have a theory! If not, where should I drag it to, RG? (I’m horrible with guessing where to put stuff!)
Didn’t A&E say Rumple left Belle behind because he wanted to protect her. Rumple believes that Henry being his undoing means that he’s going to die and he didn’t want Belle to have to witness that?
Pretty much. He’s looking out for her: he doesn’t want Belle to see him die because he honestly thinks he is going to his death. In his mind, “undoing” means death. He doesn’t perceive it as possibly meaning anything else.

KeymasterI wonder if it is going to take more than TLK for the Dark One’s curse to be fully broken. It got started in Skin Deep, but obviously came back. I think with Rumple it has to be a combo of self sacrifice and TLK. So if he gives up his power to save Henry from PP that’s part one, but what if it nearly kills him? Then, like in B and the B, Belle’s true love saves him from death.

KeymasterKat if you have a theory post in S3 discussion, if you please. Let’s try to keep this thread centered mostly to questions. Theories can always have their own thread if they aren’t exact duplicates of something else (which I’m guessing it isn’t because I haven’t seen a whole lot about the *why* of Rumbelle)

Good point MysteryKat and Demileto. I liked how short the Katherine and Tamara “triangles” were. I understand them teasing for a season but this is not How I Met Henry’s Mother ! I am trying to enjoy the angst within the show but the fan drama makes me want to say give us the fairytale not the soap opera regardless of who is with who.
Your last sentence times about 1000. This show is so much more than “ships.” It’s an integral part, yes, but it’s not the whole. I’ve stopped reading comments on any articles about ONCE because it always turns into some sort of shipping war and it’s driving me batty.
