True. Can you really sustain a show for any given amount of time around the concept of “Find Cyrus.” Not really. Bae had to be found, Emma had to break the Curse. Plot has to keep moving. So I think the first season could be “find Cyrus” coupled with flashbacks of Alice and Cyrus together world hoping, but she will find Cyrus at the end of the season and the revelation will be something unexpected.

The main one I see is that magic works differently in SB and thus he is the Dark One in powers only, not in appearance. If the Dark One’s curse is localized to FTL then it might be that he is only the full Dark One when in FTL, which also might be the reason why the final two Rumbelle kisses of S2 had no effect on his curse either. He must be in FTL for the full curse to be broken. That is one possibility, and an interesting one given that many speculate that Rumple will lose his powers in NL in S3 while fighting PP while saving Henry, giving up his powers for Henry in other words.
