At the time, we all seemed to think it was Rumpel, who made the EQ and Mally look “positively moral”, but if it’s PP that opens up lots of storyline, doesn’t it?

Especially if PP has something to do with the Dark One’s curse.

Evil Queen: I need that curse. I know you keep it hidden in the orb above your staff.

Maleficent: Hidden for the good of all, old friend. Whoever created that monstrosity, makes the two of us look positively…moral. Who did give it to you?

Evil Queen: Where I got it’s none of your concern. Hand it back.

I don’t think Regina knows much about the Curse. It was given to her by Rumple as a way to kill Snow and Charming by moving them to another land because they were protected in FTL. She never really stopped to think about the Curse or who made it. She is probably under the assumption that Rumple created it, but we know he didn’t…or at least he didn’t create it originally. He found it, tweeked it, and then gave it to Regina who tweeked it some more to include her fail safe and actually write out everyone’s lives. But neither of them created it.

There should be a master post for all the short cut names since the thread is starting to get long.

I was thinking the saaaaaaaame thing. Maybe Daniel can do something about that.

^Ditto. And even if Hook’s story is true, it may only be what he perceives to be true. The reality may be something different. I’d wait for an actual flashback before we take him at his word.

I’m not sold on either of those ideas! 😆
I much prefer the idea that Rumple met PP almost by accident. He went to NL to get squid ink for part of his plan for the Curse and was found by the Lost Ones and PP. PP recognized that Rumple’s “Dark One” shadow could do the same job as Henry’s without all the pesky waiting. Somehow Rumple escaped (in my head, Bae frees him without Rumple knowing it was Bae) and Rumple flees NL with his squid ink and now knowing that NL is a bad place for him. When they get to NL in S3 PP will still be after Henry but can still also use the Dark One’s Shadow. Rumple will sacrifice his magic, his Dark One’s self, to save Henry and thus be rid of his magic without dying and both Henry and PP are his undoing.

An interesting idea but I think that might be a bit expensive for ABC. Each new spin off would require new sets, new actors, new writers (because H and K and their team are staying on the original) and new everything else. I’d much rather see our little band of heroes go to Oz as part of their story. The OUATinWL looks really good and I’m excited to see what it does but I’d rather just have two shows.

I think family is the central theme of this show. It’s not a “curse” but rather the abandoned often abandon people, it’s all that they know.

Also, Eddy and Adam worked for 6 years on LOST where there were no shortages of daddy issues. They know how to write those.

Actually we don’t know who created the Curse because, as we learn in the Return from the BF, the Curse was already “out there” somewhere. The BF tries to deny it but Rumple realizes a Curse will take him to another land to find Bae and that is how he learns about it. Regina executed the Curse, Rumple “found” it and enhanced it with the Emma-fail safe. But as to who created it….
