    🙂

For what’s worth, I don’t think Hook is going anywhere anytime soon or ever. The cast, in my mind, is basically set: Rumple, Regina, Snow, Charming, Emma, Henry, Neal, Hook, and Belle.

    In other Ariel related news:
Sebastian, Flounder, and Scuttle. Do we see them?

I think you and I may have reached the point of no return. 😆
Let’s forget about Henry and stick with what’s in the book. Given what we’ve seen inside the book–images and text–thus far I cannot find anything that looks like the dagger and Rumple’s story of becoming the Dark One.
The one time we’ve seen a drawing of the dagger was in the Return and was not, at that point in time, in the book

And we don’t know if that came from the book or not. And we don’t know how August knew about it, though he claims it’s a fairy.

Mr. Gold: How do you know about this knife?

    August: I hear things.

(Mr. Gold points the dagger at August, until he ends up backed up against a tree.)

Mr. Gold: No one here knows about this knife.

    August: No one here remembers.

Mr. Gold: And, yet, you do. You’re from there, aren’t you? From my world.

August: The fact that you’re asking the question means you know the answer.

Mr. Gold: Well, now that that’s settled…

(Mr. Gold lunges at August, pinning him against the tree behind him. He holds the dagger to his throat.)

Mr. Gold: How about my other question? Who told you about me and the knife?

    August: A little fairy.

But notice that Rumple here knows about the dagger, those that did no longer remember. That doesn’t include Henry as his memories were never wiped, so if it was in the book, he would have known.

I suppose that could play out and PP would agree because he can’t have Bae on NL either given that he wants Henry for something.

Yes, “a little fairy told me” is a line that makes me beat my head against a desk now that we know Blue didn’t have her memories. My money is on Tink. I think Tink’s in our world and working for THO over here.

And yes, I think Mother Superior helped with the adoption because that’s what nuns do.

    **EDIT**

I’ve gone through every up close screen cap of the book when it appears and I cant’ find any image that might be the dagger or the story of Rumple so now I’m really curious what you think you saw….and it’s going to drive me nuts. Looks like I have a project for today. 😆
The only image of the dagger was the page August had on his desk and it was not a part of the book when we saw it, so unless he ripped it from the book…..ugh.

    My eyes hurt.

What I mean is that Henry would have known who Gold was: Rumplestiltskin, nothing to do with his family, but he would have known that Gold was Rumple and the Dark One but he tells Emma that he can’t figure out who Gold is.

Mr. Gold: Hey, Henry. How are you?

    Henry: Okay?

Mr. Gold: Good. Give my regards to your mother. And, um, good luck, Miss Swan.

    (Mr. Gold leaves.)

Henry: Do you know who that is?

    Emma: Yeah, course I do.

Henry: Who? Cause I’m still trying to figure it out.

He knows who Ruby and Ella are because they are in the book and he’s read it. He hadn’t figured out that Ashely is Cinderella until her situation is pointed out, but he instantly figures out that she’s Ella. Same with Red/Ruby.
Rumple is in the book, but as a character in other people’s story: like in Ella’s story about the quill which was the first time we learned that Rumple was in the book *at all* for sure. And his ability to see the future is in the book, but that’s in the Snow/Charming story that we saw in the Pilot.
Rumple’s situation of being the Dark One manifests in our world as Gold being the most powerful man in town and if the story of the Dark One was in the book, Henry would have put 2 and 2 together. He’s very smart.
And I think this quote from Manhattan shows that Henry didn’t know about the circumstances surrounding Bae’s departure, which I think singles that the story of the Dark One isn’t in the book.

Henry: You know… I forgave her. Emma – for giving me up. She thought it was the best for me then. That’s why she did it. I’m sure your son will get it, too.

Mr. Gold: Alas, the circumstances surrounding our separation weren’t quite so noble

I agree with both of your points to an extent but if they play out the typical Ariel (Disney at least) story, there is no reason why Ariel couldn’t go with them and be a guest star.

My big point is that I don’t think putting Hook with Ariel means he’s leaving the show. I would wait to see how it played out. Hookriel is a fun crack ship 😆 and in my head I think it’s more likely he’ll be with someone else, one of the mains. It just depends on how H and K want to tell their story but I don’t think we should discount anything at this point.

Actually delving into specific Atlantis history could be something they don’t have room for right now, but I could see them maybe naming Triton’s realm Atlantis. What better place to have a mythical, sunken island, than in the same world as a mythical island where time stands still.

I like that. It gives an nice nod the Atlantis myth without having to create a whole new story/sub plot for it.

Bae is absolutely in the book. 100% yes. (And I about fell out of my chair when that was revealed in S,B and T) and thought it was proof that Blue wrote the book.
I also agree that the dagger is the worst kept secret in FTL and SB, which I know is something no one understood because until The Queen is Dead (when Snow and Charming let the audience know that they knew about it) everyone assumed that *no one* knew about it except Rumple and Bae and the BF.
But I’m still going through all images of the book and thus far, there are stories we haven’t seen but nothing to do with Rumple. It’s possible that the story of Rumple and Bae is in there, but like Demileto suggested, is not about the Dark One but about a father who lost his son. But a story as big as Rumple becoming the Dark One and then losing his son would stick out like a sore thumb for Henry and he would have known who Gold is and what he was after.

But like I said…I’m still going through all the images.
