Wouldn’t Neil know the people of Storybrooke from their actual stories, just like Emma and the rest of us? He might not “know” them and have an emotional connection to them, but he did grow up at some point and would at least know who Snow White, Evil Queen, Prince Charming, the dwarves, etc. He just wouldn’t freak out about it like we would since he’d already know that they were real people from his homeland. Kinda like Americans and Europe (or where ever our ancesters are from), lol.
Yes, he would know the stories that are told about them here (which as we know are “wrong” in the Onceiverse). But I don’t know that he could point to Mary Margaret and go “that’s Snow White” because he was not in FTL at that time.

While I’m eager to get Belle back, if it happens in tomorrows finale it’s going to feel just too fast to me. Changing her to Lacey and having the opposite effect on Rumple than Belle does is a big step, and I can’t help feeling it should be explored more. Plus, I think it would mean more (although it would be less romantic) if Rumple comes around on his own, without Belle setting him straight. Wow, I kind of hate me for saying that. I do agree that it’s going to feel fast but I think that has more to do with the pacing of the show. Belle was in the hospital starting episode 12 and didn’t get out until 19. The Cora storyline took over the intervening episodes so they couldn’t trot out Lacey until that was resolved. But, I’d rather just have Belle back at this point. I don’t think Rumple is going to be in a hurry to be any sort of useful until he makes his big sacrifice and then is almost rewarded with the return of Belle.

Are we sure Belle is getting her memories back in this episode? I thought the interview said that Sneezy is, and it opens the door for Belle to maybe get her memories back…which I took to mean she will not be getting them back right away?? I had the idea that it could be left as a mystery as to how Sneezy gets his back, so they are left trying to figure it out to help Belle. Can you imagine Rumple’s reaction to seeing Sneezy recover and not knowing why it happened? Angst Ahoy!!
I think their goal for the end of S2 is to wrap up all the storylines that won’t serve them in S3. So for example, if we are leaving SB (as I strongly suspect) the Curse needs to be “shut down” as it were. The amnesia storylines of Sneezy and Belle need to be resolved so that the focus of S3 can be on NL, Peter Pan, the Home Office and hopefully wrapping up Greg and Tamara.

It would be the most logical explanation for how Sneezy gets his memories back. However, I would like for Belle’s memories to return AFTER Rumple has made a great sacrifice, telling Lacey they can’t be together because it only brings out his darkness and how he will fight for being good. Also how he’s willing to die to pay for his sins and so he won’t seek to destroy Henry. Then, just when he’s hit an absolute low, Belle gets her memories back and she help him realize that he does have something to fight for and hopefully he steps in and help save SB.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"The only thing I wasn’t sure about is something I’ve debated myself before: the only people Neal knows in SB (other than Emma and Henry of course) are Rumple and the Blue Fairy right? He was long gone before most of the others arrived so it is mostly a town of strangers but ones that he has a common bond with having come from the EF.
Yes this is one thing that bothered me in The Evil Queen. I’m sure Neal could figure out who everyone was to give that list to Tamara but he shouldn’t have just known. Everyone in SB apart from Rumple and the BF came many many many years after he had left FTL.
