Plot Device BF is my leaaaaaaast favorite. Every time I see her on screen I want to shut my eyes and look away. I wish they’d do a better job explaining her. *sigh* /end rant

I could also see Mulan just staunching his wound and putting herbs on it–she’s a warrior after all, so we wouldn’t have to question too much how she knows some stuff like that. Neal would then continue to be weak not fully healed.

True, she would know a lot about healing. Though…it’s a gun shot wound. Not something you see in FTL. So she could part way heal him with herbs and such, but money is still on Lake Nostos.

The only thing there is of course if Rumple and Regina truly reform–what’s the storyline? The Big Bad of next season through the H.O. better be more charismatic than GOAT. We need someone (as Cora did) who can give the chills.

This is very true and I’m hopeful that the creepy magical big bad could be one of the following
    1) the Shadow. Already creeped out by this glowy eyed thing.
    2) One of the Lost Boys. In the promo stills, the character of Felix seems particularly menacing.
    3) Ursula. I’d love it if the second half of the season was about the Mermaid Kingdom and how Ursula has over thrown Trident and cast out Ariel.

The rest of that show? Yes….I call it the /sigh fi channel sometimes instead of SYFY.

Oh SYFY channel. I love the concept, being a scifi fanatic, but sometimes I want to smack you upside the head. There are beautiful things about you: I maintain that the reboot of BSG is one of the finest examples of science fiction on tv in a very long time, and quirky shows like Eurkea and Warehouse 13 are great. And even your newest venture with Defiance has a lot of potential (mostly cause it’s a bizarre mix of several other sci fi shows…). But then you go and do mash ups of aliens and dinosaurs and giant spiders and I just sigh and look away.

Also–RC …someone has to mention his role as Gaz in the Full Monty. He plays a down-on-his luck steel mill worker who needs a job, as he’s behind on child support to his ex-wife. Like Rumple, he loves his son, but doesn’t know how to do the right thing to connect with him. Unlike Rumple, he doesn’t become the master of dark power–no his idea to put on a strip tease show like the Chippendales (where in, he goes for the whole reveal aka the Full Monty).

I’ve never seen it. I want to but I fear that I won’t be able to look at Rumple the same way.

What I mean is that the show didn’t vent this possible use of the lake for no reason. Charming tried, it didn’t work, but the fact that Ruth didn’t really drink it leaves it open ended whether or not the waters of the lake can be used to cure wounds.

Like I said, the finale is so event packed that they can’t delve too long in a subplot; if not the waters of the lake, then it’ll be Mulan concocting a magical potion from various herbs, but that’ll be an even bigger stretch, won’t it?

Oh I see. Yes, good point. If the two options are Lake Nostos (which thus far has yet to heal wounds–though Charming seems to believe it can) or Mulan making a potion, I’d rather have it be Lake Nostos. I think if it’s the second option, then suddenly people will start to wonder where Mulan learned it, and want her backstory more than they do now. And sadly, Jamie Chung is heading off to NBC for a show so I don’t know if we’ll ever see her again. At least lake Nostos I can rationalize as “well we didn’t know for sure, but at least now we know Charming was right in his assumption that it could heal.”

Ah, but it will really start all over again as soon as the credits roll and we have a whole new set of things to speculate about. 😉 I feel bad for the spoilerphobes, because at least we’ll be getting new stuff to talk about come July, maybe even end of June if casting calls start leaking. Spoilerphobes will have a much longer hiatus than we will.

Poor spoilerphobes. Come to the dark side! 🙂

I hope we get news on MRJ before June. I want confirmation that he’s a regular and I can do a little happy dance.

I think A and E learned a lot this year and one thing they learned is that splitting up the core cast for so long made the show feel really disjointed. It got to be too much for the casual viewer (in other people, who are not us) to see FTL of the past, FTL of the present and SB of the present. If Rumple and Belle were to stay behind then we’d be seeing FTL of the past, NL of the past, NL of the present (or NL-adjacent whatever that means) and SB of the present because there is no way they’d downgrade RC’s role in this show meaning SB would still have to play a major part.

No doubt that having so many different locations and times made things muddled. I assume they took note of the negative feedback about that and would tweak things to make it easier to follow. Back when season 2 spoilers first started coming out, I remember thinking how potentially confusing it could all get.

There are many ways the finale could end, with different people in different lands. Trying to evaluate all the options makes my head hurt! How many hours until the guessing games are over?! *headdesk*

Lana more or lets it slip Regina isn’t dying! Well no one seriously thought it might happen I guess. Confused or not about her character’s motivations at times, she acts the heck out of it.
So for Regina, hearing Charming say they are family is a turning point–goes back to the “emotional touchstone” thing about Bae and the Darlings. What will people do for their families in the face of danger?

Agreed. They may all hate each other but the are family. They are all united through Henry, Emma, and Regina marrying Leopold. I really hope S3 is a turning point for her.

Looking back at this list I just typed out, it’s very possible that one of the (many) reasons I love this show so much is that I’ve seen so many of the actors in other places before and really loved them there. They really did hit the jackpot with this cast.

It’s also possible that I watch far too much television.

Amy Acker was also in Angel, the spin off of cult favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She played Fred/Illyria. I really loved her there. She was a super smart physicist who had been trapped in another world and had pretty much lost her mind. I also saw her on Alias.
David Anders was also on Heroes for season 2-4. Played a (mostly) bad guy, which he seems to relish. He was fantastic as Stark.
Ginny Goodwin was on Big Love though I personally haven’t seen it, but I do know it was very different from her role as Snow.
Emilie (Belle) was also in Roswell, the short lived teenage cult classic up there with Buffy and Dawson’s Creek. I think it may have been one of her first acting roles because you can hear her trying to mask her accent and not doing a great job at it. I hated her character but loved her. And Claire. Of course Claire. LOST was basically my existence for 6 years and Claire/Charlie was a fantastic little romance.
Bobby as Rush on Stargate: Universe was the only good thing about that show in my opinion. I love the SG franchise but SG:U was a mess. But RC’s performance as Rush was really great. The man can do anything.
JMo was of course on House for the first 6-ish seasons. I loved her. LOVED. Alison Cameron was my favorite character. She was also in the new Star Trek movie, though briefly as Kirk’s mom.
Lee Arenberg (Grumpy) was in the Pirates franchise (he’s the one who says ‘ello Poppet) and to this day I’m still waiting to hear him say “I hate pirates” or something to give a nice nod to the PotC movies.
Jorge Garcia (Anton) was on LOST as Hurley. One of my favorite comedic moments in LOST comes from Hurley in the first season when he’s yelling at the crazy French woman Rousseu about the monster in the jungle and he yells, “maybe it’s a PISSED OFF GIRAFFE!!” He was fantastic.
Alan Dale (George) was also a guest star on LOST as the devious and terrible Widmore. He kept Desmond and Penny apart. He deserved to be beaten for that alone.
Sebastian Stan (Jefferson) appeared occasionally on Gossip Girl. Like him much more on ONCE. Of course he’s also in the Captain America movies.
Lana was in one episode of LOST but other than that, I hadn’t seen her in anything before this.

In this episode, I think it is genuine.

Glad to see this. My BF and I were arguing about if Regina was sincere in that sneak peek we’ve seen. I thought she was, for the first time in a long time, and he thought she had a trick up her sleeve (which is odd because he identifies as an EvilRegal and I’m a Dearie…)

She didn’t completely erase his memory. It was short-term, so she just erased that entire conversation so he wouldn’t remember what happened. It was almost like a little dose of magic just to see what it did.

I wonder if this will come up in the finale. Seems like someone should at least mention it.
