This is an interesting idea but it brings up some questions (that have been circling around for awhile…) about how if Untold Stories have been paused then how do we have the complete stories here in our realm?
Example: Jekyll and Hyde is a complete story with a beginning, a middle, and an end by an author in our realm. So how does that work?

They also have the option to do Hook flashbacks during the missing year. There was that extended period of time following when he re-took the Jolly Roger from Blackbeard, but before he traded his ship back to Blackbeard to get back to the Land Without Magic.
I actually think that’s the best option. Prior to NVL gets messy since he was supposedly sold into service with Liam; and doing errands for Pan (like getting cake??) always struck me as super lame given the powers of NVL

I guess there’s a point to be made for the DVD extras not being canon, but this Goldilocks really doesn’t look like the Storybrooke morning show host

Yes, exactly. This is a big factor. If shows like Notorious, Conviction, Star Crossed, Time After Time, ect all bomb and get cancelled after a season then the network will see OUaT as a steady (if low) money maker. It might not make the same amount as big hitters or as much as it once did, but you can’t make any money on a show that’s been cancelled (apart from syndication, which one season only shows aren’t going to get)

They just want to tell the Moby Dick story so now all of a sudden Hook is thrown into this flashback, a flashback that was not thought up of until they started planning this season. It’s frustrating, and it hinders the success of the flashbacks now.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Also we need to remember that there isn’t a split-season this year which as I understand it will be like Seasons 1 & 2 and air throughout the entire year taking random 2-3 week breaks every couple of weeks to the point of confusion when people don’t know when new episodes air. Look at what that did to the season 2 ratings by the end.
Agreed on that front. It’s a bit of a lose-lose for OUAT. Split seasons didn’t have stellar writing so we lost ratings. Non split seasons had tragic scheduling…and we lost ratings.
